According to the manual for our new Lenovo Thinkpad, pressing the "Fn Key + Esc FnLock Key switches the key function between the standard F1-F12 function and the special function printed as an icon on each key. When the Fn Lock indicator is off, you can use the default function. You can change the default function in the Keyboard Properties window."
Pressing Fn Key + Esc FnLock Key worked for our machine, when the Volume Mute Key, the two Volume control Keys, the Brightness control Keys etc had reverted to F function keys.

Thank you. I was sick of hear people saying ,"Just press fn+esc." since it does not work on my laptop. The fn lock button is not even on my keyboard let alone on the esc button. And I couldn't access bios using advance startup. Fortunately, your method works.

Thank you for making this video. For me , it worked. In my opinion , it's better using regular F1 ... F12 keys , without keeping pressed Fn key. Instead , minimizing / increasing the volume / screen brightness with Fn + F1 ... F12 is more-more easier & productive. Thanks again.

@@kasturisabar3654 You have to use your keyboard keys to go down (at systems startup press FN + F2. I hope this helps. Did it work? It did for me, but i spilled water on it, now I have to use a keyboard.

Thank you, Sir. For the past five months, my Lenovo 9i keyboard has been exhibiting unusual behavior. When I press certain keys, it triggers shortcuts unintentionally. For instance, pressing 'S' activates the Snipping Tool, 'R' adjusts the refresh rate, 'Spacebar' alters the backlight brightness level, and 'M' switches touch mode, among others. This forces me to rely on the floating keyboard or other accessory keypads, rendering the physical keyboard unusable.
This issue occurs randomly, sometimes even when I restart the PC or close its cover, without any prior indication. It's worth mentioning that there hasn't been any spillage on the keyboard. Could you please advise on how to address this problem?

Step 1: Turn off your Laptop (Shut down)
Step 2: Turn it on, Check if the lights on the side are open,
Step 3: when you see the lights on the side are on, press f10 3 times (do more if you do not see the BIOS setup window)
Step 4: Go to the system configuration tab by tapping the right arrow on you keyboard
Step 5: go to action keys, press enter then disable.
Step 6: Quit by either pressing the f10 button or by going to the quit tab then save.
This makes you use the f key Laptop functions with the FN key for them to work, FN + F3 = increase brightness. this basically means you can use the F keys in game without using the laptop F key functions, Ex. pressing f5 in game automatically makes you change perspective (In minecraft), you don't have to press FN + F5, hopefully you get what i mean. Have a great rest of your day :D.

on the latest Microsoft windows wireless keyboard and mouse AIO(ALLInOne) you press the Fn key and the caps lock button (basically you should see a closed pad lock icon) so if it is not that button it will be one with the closed padlock button

Hey guys I wanna share the Volume key does not work in your PC.
Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Advance startup(Restart now) > Troubleshoot > Advance option > UEFI Firmware Settings(restart) > POST behavior(click the + sign) > Fn Lock Options and click the Lock Mode Enable/Secondary > Exit.
It will restart, then try the F1-F12 keys on your Pc keyboard. And that's it, 100% work.

Sure, I can change the volume by pressing down FN and f9 or f10 but I don't want to have to do this. I want to be able to press f9 and 10 only for volume like I could until yesterday.
