Hello, Howcast. It's been literal years. You were the first RUclips channel I remember regularly watching when I was small. I actually still remember some of the things you taught me, like good spots to live underground, how to tie a cherry stem in my mouth, how to cast a love spell, what to do in a bear encounter, how to conquer my fears. You've been crossing my mind more often as of late. Then I saw this in my recommendations despite not even mention you for years. I just thought it was cool. Thank you for being a part of my childhood
Another interesting fact is that even after the QWERTY layout was introduced most typewriters didn't have keys for the number one or or zero. The lower case 'L' doubled as the number one and the upper case 'O' doubled as the number zero. For an exclamation point you would type an apostrophe then back space and type a period, it was crude but it worked.
Hi, is this right, you make airplanes (very cool ones) I know you because I remember that I was a big fan of your videos like 2 -3 years ago, But I still remember that you taught me an airplane, that makes me still the record - breaker in class. I love your airplane videos!♥️‼️
Yeah. I'm also a high school student and doing some extra circular things like programming and some other courses and I thought this is the time where I should get serious about typing speed
Some off the fastest typers don't even use that way of typing. When I learned to start typing blind or home way I believe it's called, it took some time, but you get used to it. The F and J have bumps, but like I said in the beginning some place thier fingers on other keys. Eventually you learn to use what's most comfortable for you. Practise makes perfect;)
I've learnt the art of touch-typing, and I'm glad I did it in the end. Initially, before, I thought I could never do it knowing how difficult it is to learn, and it is difficult, but I did it because I know the reaps of rewards you gain out of it afterwards other than to just type fast and accurately. It takes a lot of mental effort to learn to touch-type, and even once you learn it, you'll be typing up to 20 wpm for at least the next couple of weeks; in fact, you'll possibly be typing a lot slower than your previous method. It will be painful at first because your fingers are getting use to their new positions, but they'll slowly find their way. For me, after about 3 months of touch-typing, I was able to type over 50 wpm with 100% accuracy. Now, I can type close to 70 wpm with 100% accuracy; in other words, I'm just glad I've learn it, and know for a fact that most people in this world don't have this amazing skill. You'll be amazed just how confident you'll become whenever you're using the computer. My only regret is to not learning it a long-time back. Not easy to learn, yet not impossible either. Just takes patience and dedication.
I'm typing without looking down right now, it's amazing what I can do with this new ability. I literally can't stop typing because it's just too fun. ok shit, send for help
Yeah but using all fingers reduces the stress on your each finger . Sometimes extra load on a certain finger even leads to serious problems like arthritis
Thanks for your very interesting post, here are a few more tips on how to play the piano… Try practicing about 1 hour every day, or just half an hour if you short of time. Do more practice whenever you have more time. For example, on weekends you can do more than an hour, like two or 3, or even more. This is very helpful because it pulls you out of the routine of piano playing, and lets you practice more and perfect the pieces you play. Try not to look at the dynamics in a piece, as rules you cannot break. For example, if the piece starts with an 'mp' (mezzo-piano) it only means 'moderately soft' these dynamics don't have specific volume levels. If you are practicing, you don't need to play accordingly and then have a difficulty hearing yourself, you should only play as it tells you when you are actually trying to play it properly. Practice sight-reading and don't worry about making mistakes. This can be very helpful, because it's almost like scanning a paragraph and looking at the picture. It helps you to understand what the passage is trying to convey before you actually read it and lets you know what comes next. This is the same with music, and it can help you stop making mistakes. (I discovered about these and more on Denelle Piano Lesson website )
Gaming Way: -Right/Left hand always on mouse (Depends on your dominant hand. Though this will be written for specifically righties) Left hand (Keyboard): -Pinkie controls shift -Ring finger controls A -Middle finger controls W and S -Index controls D -Thumb controls spacebar Right hand (Mouse): -Thumb controls side buttons (If you have any on your mouse) -Index finger controls left click and any buttons next to it (Like on the Logitech G502)/scroll wheel/any buttons under it -Middle finger controls right click and any buttons next to it -Ring and pinkie fingers resting on the side (usually) As previously mentioned this is for right handed people though if you are left handed you can try swapping the mouse controls
As someone who types an average of 100+ WPM, there is no "officially faster" way of typing. For example, I never really use my pinky except for the left shift key and control key. Just do what's comfortable and keep on doing it, and you'll eventually be able to type fast.
Why the keys were actually changed was because of the more oftenly used keys were positioned in such a way that the user would not be able to use them with speed or control, then the keys were rearranged in order for the more oftenly used keys to be easier to access/control than the other keys which were placed on the outskirts of the keyboard interface. But very good tutorial really helped a lot!
That's right . I'm also like that but I've recently started touch typing and it is actually better for us . because for being semi hunt and peck . I managed to achieve speed of 50 wpm in 3 days. You should try too
Amazing video. This reminder of the basics just improved my typing at least 100%. Lots of bad habits had crept in to the point where I was making mistakes every 2 or 3 keystrokes.
Fun fact: There is literally no reason for a alphabet to be arranged in the order that it is arranged in, it could have just as well been arranged like qazxswedcvfrtgbnhyujmkiolp and no-one would question it.
If you're using only few fingers..then..Your fingers will be tired eventually... i can type without looking at the keyboard and relax..practice is the key...try to hide the letters on top of the keys while practicing
@JimboParadox Is it alright using 4 fingers when typing? It's a bit slow, and my muscle memory is quite used to it, i wanna learn how to type with all fingers
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever learn this 10-finger system... I type 90-100 WPM with my own weird method. My left hand pretty much stays in place, fingers moving around quickly on the keyboard, while I move my right hand a lot more, pretty much only using the index finger on that hand... Guess anything works once you get used to it :)
+David Well you should need practice doing this so you can do faster i dont do that way and i dont look at the keyboard then the screen over and over all i do is either look at the keyboard and after each sentence correct the mistakes if needed,or i just look at the screen.
+David I write average 120WPM, but I want to get faster -- I do not even use all the fingers myself, left hand is fine, but I only use the index and middle finger on my right, with thumb for spacebar. Well, my point is that speed doesn't matter, but efficiency -- my right hand gets tired sooner because I pressure it a lot more.
I already know how to type fast so my finger (that is between the middle finger and pinky, and its left) is on a and my middle finger is on the w and you know what's next! THE POINTING FINGER IS ON THE D!
Understanding the vertical alignment for each finger and the grooves on f and h is the best way to not look at keyboard and not get lost. Maybe keyboards would be better if the characters were 3 D indented then it would be even easier to feel your way.
little things but means a lot 4 old school guy like me, if i learn this, my life would be much easier, thank god good people still exist. best thing that sharing with people positive things.
I never actually followed that "rule", where you have to position your fingers on the keyboard like that (in a straight line). And now I'm typing an average of 65 wpm (words per minute) (without looking at the keyboard). I can also do this while talking to someone, and that only takes me down to 50wpm. And no, I don't want a medal. I'll just type one from symbols and print it out. ;)
Counting how many times I can write this in 20 seconds. Starting... NOW! the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog CHEEZUS!! I type quick.
Is it just me that just naturally got fast at typing and ended up developing my own way? Will my typing speed be limited because I'm not using the "correct way"?
mechanical keyboards are the best, I just got one today and im going to start training on how to properly type. I use to be a "hunt and peck" typer just like the video stated.
+WolveZZy Same. My pinkie is always on the shift, my middle on w, my ring on a, my pointer on d, and my thumb on space. At least that's my left hand... My right hand just kind of rests on top of the keyboard somewhere, not in a particular place at all.
Dojoguy365 - Minecraft, Mini-Games, Let's Plays I use s and w with my middle. ring on a pointer on d and pinkie on shift and control. thumb on space and my right hand is always on my mouse. I use both my hands to type
***** Kid? It was a fucking joke you dipshit. I believe you're the kid considering you can't understand simple sarcasm. It would've been unnoticable if it weren't the case of the certain video I commented on.
It's typing master pro, dude. I practice everyday. Anyway, don't hold grudges on me. I know we're all cool cuz we can make use of all 10 fingers to type, right bro? My average is 65wpm in a long text but my peak goes up to 78 or nearly 84wpm. :) It's okey.
If anyone is interested in playing piano the greatest success that ive had was by following the Turbo Piano Secret (i found it on google) definately the most helpful method that I've followed.

The title should be
"How to type the correct way"
ruclips.net/video/mn7eSDzWuBE/видео.html
Good like this??
Step 1: throw that awful keyboard in the trash and get a real one
yee
go with a gaming brand
mechanical keyboards are the best, I just got one today and im going to start training on how to properly type. I use to be a "hunt and peck" typer just like the video stated.

I can't learn to hit anything with my pinky finger.
To me, each person should find out their own style that makes you feel comfortable (unique), i feel so lonely TT

this video has been bookmarked for 6 years and finally removed it, nice vid btw
why do people have their fingers on asdf jkl;
i have my fingers on my keyboard not on any keys just ready to type
***** That's the same thing I do. I never go on anything else. Plus i'm really fast at typing. Or atleast sometimes.
My fingers are on wasd for gaming
+WolveZZy Same. My pinkie is always on the shift, my middle on w, my ring on a, my pointer on d, and my thumb on space. At least that's my left hand... My right hand just kind of rests on top of the keyboard somewhere, not in a particular place at all.
Dojoguy365 - Minecraft, Mini-Games, Let's Plays I use s and w with my middle. ring on a pointer on d and pinkie on shift and control. thumb on space and my right hand is always on my mouse. I use both my hands to type
Right? I can have my palm on my forehead and my fingernail on my toes and I'm fine...
Using these methods make me type slower. QQ.
I'm comfortable with 90-125 wpm. ._. And it really hurts my hands to type like that anyway.
YamiYami17 I knew I've been using a unique typing style and thought this wouldn't give crappy tips I learned in 7th grade. :)

That's impossible without touch typing.

So how do I do this if I don't know how to type?
then your not meant to use the computer kid :)
***** Kid? It was a fucking joke you dipshit. I believe you're the kid considering you can't understand simple sarcasm. It would've been unnoticable if it weren't the case of the certain video I commented on.
MrBlackShadow8 i know it was joke so im just messin with ya. judging by ur temper well maybe you should learn how to control it kid. no worries ;)
***** I admit, I fell for your troll. Gr8 B8 M8

After 11 years. I finally learned how to type🙃. Curse you YT. Should've recommended this sooner
PLEASE TELL ME HOW NOT TYPE / I AM STILL TYPING
Lol I used the computer since I was 5. I learnt how to type by myself, now I can type 62 wpm on average.
I didn't touch the keyboard until I was 10 years old and now I can type 78wpm on average LOL
Are you talking about short words? The wpm test I did had a lot of long words and unsual names. :P
That is really bad.
Zane enaZ it's your life bro. I don't have any right to judge you, but also congrats on that. Thanks God I still have my life indulging myself
I don't know why I'm here
I clicked on this video even though I can already type at 90WPM
But I'll just say good luck to anyone trying to improve!
