I love this channel and how they seem to mix professionalism with humour and still have a rookie charm to it.😂😂😂
"We stole her from an Imperial repair dock" best Gladiator class star destroyer captain.
Let's hear it for Kebo Ren . HIP HIP HURRAY!!!!!!!!
You missed one important detail about the Victory-class Star Destroyer: It also has 80 concussion missile launchers, which makes it famous as a true battleship.
Warhead. It could launch anything.
@@jaanikaapa6925 launch ewoks ahahaha
@@sheevpalpatine2128 Considering how terrifying the one night in Endor mode can be in BF2? Ultimate terror weapon.
@@jaanikaapa6925 Well, this is the same species that was able to intuitively use high technology just by looking at it, despite not even being out of the stone age, and also hunted a panther like animal that could literally rip a modern day tank apart? Yeah. That would be the most terrifying thing ever.
Victory 1 had the missiles Victory 2 swaped them for more ion cannon though the Victory 1 is more terrifying cause it was designed to destroy ships not just capture them
The Gladiator only having 2 squads of Star Fighters always seemed BS, I feel like sometime along the line the authors and writers of Ship statistics got bored and just started writing random numbers.
Definitely check out MetaNerdz Lore’s video on the Gladiator-class. He devises a much more accurate starfighter count appropriate for its size.
FastTquick Yeah I saw that he said it should have like 108 fighters due to its dimensions
@@toby1061 He estimated 220. But that is still a lot more than 26.
FastTquick yes you are correct
To say nothing of the secutor. A standard venator brings over 400 fighters yet the 2.2km version with similar weak guns somehow _loses_ 2/3 of it's fighter compliment when it should be more like 1500? Nah, these numbers were always made up with no real thought for how they fit anything but the first story written with them.
The T85 drop ship is literally a flying box! It doesn’t even have wings like the LAAT, holy sh*t!
Considering the existence and widespread use of Repulsorlift technology. It doesnt need wings.
Like the AAT but the point is that it is literally a flying box.
The holy cannon fodder box
Wondering how many times he did the intro before he got it right
before he got it wrong in the correct way LMAO
That intro made me go "Huhhh!"
That 'Huhhh!' made me go intro
@@eyesofstatic9641 "Huhh!" Intro Me Go Made That
I love how each video the'Hello friends my name is Allan and this is Generation Tech' intro gets slowly weirder with each video. Not to long ago the intro was just him making dolphin noises
He’s going insane
Pretty sure that has already happened, at this point the dolphins are just preserving the hollowed out Allan suit until it is time for their own order 66
There not weird alien's vocal regulator is on the Fritz making its language messed up ( you notice apart from its obsession with ewok meat it no longer preaches anti alien rhetoric every time )
Best intro ever!
I think I had a stroke listening to the intro 😂
The Gladiator is essentially a wedge, with a smaller wedge removed from the front
Kuat Drive Yards, “How many pizza shaped Star Destroyers do you need?”
The Empire, “Yes.”
Kuat Drive Yards
@@heem_cat5140 It’s that stupid auto correct
The republic too
Kuat Droid be Yards
Nailed it.
They needed enough full pizzas for every kid on coruscant but just missed that they were asking for pizzas not pizza shaped ships
Love the Conan the barbarian reference, THAT IS GOOD
It is good to see the Gladiator, Carrack, Victory, and Secutor ships.
I'm so glad they brought one of Colin Cantwell's designs to life like he imagined them
The Eclipse should have been in RotJ. That would have been properly epic.
To early, the technology of the Dark Empire was too advanced for 4 ABY
@@sergeyoneill1344 it was actually under construction during the Battle of Endor
Well the ship wasn't exactly made up to be a thing yet
A venator flanked by victory class would be amazing
Likely the vic in front
Carrack-class for the like! I've always liked the Carrack and it never gets enough love. It is a durable workhorse great for any fleet. I wonder if Alan will make a non aligned or lesser faction vid like this and cover ships like the Neutron Star-class bulk cruiser or the Corporate Sector's Marauder-class Corvette?
Fun fact, the Carrack was briefly considered to be the Empire's pick for an Epic-scale ship in the X-Wing Miniatures table top game, to be the direct answer to the Rebels' CR-90 corvette. While it fit the bill, ultimately the choice was made to create the Raider instead since the Carrack doesn't have the iconic Imperial look. While it would have been great to have a wonderfully detailed model of a Carrack for the game, I do love the Raider they gave us instead.
Carracks are great in the Awakening of the Rebellion mod for Empire at War. Not that durable, but fast and like the video says it's armed to the teeth and punches far above its weight once you get in close.
Here is hoping that they put the Imperial Gunboat from the X-Wing and Tie Fighter games in the next video.
I adore the Gladiator and Victory models honestly
I love the gladiator, it's a great little patrol ship for those outer rim areas bringing enough firepower to deal with pirates, while also able to bring some fighters to the fight and some stormtroopers for boarding actions
THAT WAS A GREAT OPENING YOUR GREAT AT THESE LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!!
I’m so happy I have scale models of half the ships in that list, I love Star Wars armada.
Morning Generation Tech.
The Colossus is one Lesser Known Starship of the Galactic Empire. I have high hopes to see a younger Doza and Griff that was still afflicted with the Empire before they both go defected in Rangers of the New Republic. But thanks to Disney-Lucasfilm's Pure Hypocrisy and Bias rules, Rangers of the New Republic got cancelled or as people said "no longer in development". It disappointing they waste a show that have so much potential to be a good story and expand more on new republic and post empire.
I agree. They could have recast or rewritten the lead roll.
@@Eric-ch6gq maybe they’ll do it after some time
@@thehunter7772 I'm still hoping. It's pretty much a wild west idea set in Star Wars.
Don't forget about Skystrike Academy. Seems that it's the same type of station/ship as the Colossus, at the very least they're variants of one another. It's a shame that Resistance was such a poorly executed show. There was potential there.
@cd5sircoupe yeah Resistance is not perfect but at least did a better job of Subversion of expectation than TLJ, also giving a Grey morality(Tierny > Kylo Ren) and didn’t sidelined their characters such a Tam, the opposite of Finn.
One of the things the Empire apeared to love so much are the Star Destroyers since the Empire ordered many types of them to be manufactured. Not to mention they are quite very useful to them.
As someone who is dyslexic that intro was pretty funny
Generation Tech, You should do a video on the lesser known ships of the Sith Empire ( Great Galactic War era, 3000 years before the Battle of Yavin), minus the Harrower Class Dreadnought.
Probably should do a known ships first
Imagine being a pilot in the starwars galaxy dog fighting in a giant space battle when all the sudden a whole damn planet just drops out of hyperspace.
I just love your video's, I put your play list on while at work, and the hours just melt away.. THANKS !!!!
Do the Sith Empire next
the Raider corvette is one of the few Imperial ships I love. much more interesting than one 'destroyer' larger than the previous 'destroyer' larger than the first one
"Correction": The Executor class Dreadnoughts were described as about 8 Kilometers long at first. The Eclipse was about 17,5 kilometers long. The Eclipse was designed to be much larger than the Executor. 2004 the length of the Executor class was retconned, but the length of Eclipse has not been adjusted. If it would've been done, the Eclipse would be around 35 kilometers long.
Not sure how many here cut their space gaming teeth on the incredible and certainly classic "Master Of Orion" (especially MOO 2, still the best!) but one strategy I very much enjoyed with that game, was capturing other fleets' starships. Especially that once you had them, you could as well as use them, scrap them and learn the technologies used in their build for designing your own future ships. Much more fun than just blowing them up.
MOO had a number of techs you could design into your 'unique' ships to make capture more assured, such as Stasis Field generators (similar to SW "Interdictor tech), assault ships with marines onboard and a great tech called the "Achilles Targeting Unit" which essentially ensured your weapons would damage the drive (to immobilize), the shields and any defensive techs, thereby giving your assault marines a better chance. Later you could also use Transporters, to put your marines on their immobile ships. The Achilles unit I'm surprised was never (to my knowledge) developed for SW ships but it was a MUST in MOO since it focused specifically on capture tech.
MOO (2) is STILL one of the greatest (and timeless) Space battle games ever devised, imho. 🥰
I already knew every ship except Cantwell Class Arrestor Cruiser and the asteroide.
Gladiator Class Star Destroyer is still my favorite o.o.
The Cantwell was going to be in Solo, but the scenes with it in were deleted
Love the gladiator class. You guys did miss one though, the bellator class dreadnought was a capital ship hunter
They also missed the Vengence class, which where meant to be the replacement to the old dreadnought but ended up mostly being remembered as the hull of the Immobilizer 418 class.
@@redenginner ah! You're right, I forgot about that one
The Eclipse, my absolute favorite Imperial ship of all time. Just a nightmare in the stars.
The Raider, along with the Nebula type classes, are my favorite medium to large ship design in Star Wars, I really wish they received more love in the movies/series
A Gladiator class seems like it would be a good ship to commandeer
I can't be the only one that wants a space rock with engine as my space ship, right?
That's why the Eye Of Palpatine was made.
Everytime I see the Gladiator I think of the Styx Class Heavy Cruiser from Warhammer 40k Battlefleet Gothic Armada(and the Harrower, just look at that prow!). Dedicated carrier that provides fire support. The Gladator looks like it could provide even greater amounts of fire support too. I keep dreaming up ways to utilize the Gladiator as the centerpiece for smaller fleets and sector patrol duties. What escorts it would have, how to beef up the fleet on a mission specific basis, what refinements and changes I would want on it, etc.
Glad to see the Carrack on this list. Thanks guys.
1:55 The Cantwell Class Arrestor Cruiser, while rare is one of the ships that got Rekt by Luthien Rael's Fondor Haulcraft just before he escape through hyperspace.
I like how he mentions the Cantwell because it’s always forgotten
'The Carrack class light cruiser' was like my go-tee favorite. Fast, The right firepower & a good transportation to go as a Spec ops ship!
@Generation Tech Here's a couple of imperial starfighters for your list, if you don't mind.
1) TIE Hunter, an ship used by the Empire's Storm Commado's spec ops. (Rogue Sqaudron 3)
2) TIE Punisher, an more heavy class bomber.
3) TIE Aggressor, an ship that is similar to Vader's TIE Advanced including shields and hyperdrive , but made for combat.
4) TIE Avenger, suppose to be an hybrid and upgrade for both the TIE Intercepter and Aggresser.
5) TIE Phantom, an secret imperial stealth starfighter with cloaking tech made for ambushing rebel starfighter groups.
Brilliant content, honestly old and new videos all awesome 👏🏻
8:47 Omg Epic and Well Employed Conan Reference!!! XDXDXD
3:15 You're telling me something that big with three hangers only had two squads of starfighters? Honestly I'd take a ship like that and make it a medium multi-purpose carrier. Replace about half the turbolazers with point-defense and anti-starfighter weapons and you'd have a ship that isn't dependent on its starfighters for defense and tough enough to support its starfighters by allowing the fighters to launch closer to the enemy and provide supporting fire.
Sure there's versions of that. I'd gone a step further even an make an assault carrier class based off the really big SDs but loaded with point defense and seems to have a starfighter factory built into them... imagine a Dreadnought like an Eclipse.. But maybe 1 made for command several normal ones an another 2 or 3 devoted to heavy support fire assaults unleashing swarms of fighters an bombers
@@robertagu5533 Well at that point you've made an entirely different ship. But I would love to see a dreadnaught class carrier vessel with a starfighter complement in the thousands. Feels like something legends New Republic would make.
My point was you could make a few modification to an existing ship and get an arguably superior vessel.
@@dannybeane2069 yeah an the beauty is sometimes the difference between is a ship is said superiority OR RIDDICULOUSLY terrible at something can be as simple as some the most minor adjustments in armament an tech an then moving a ship to a different role. Maybe a ship doesn't make for a good support or minor Capital ship but you realize it's great for launching tac fighters or to guard against enemy fighter attacks even if there's quite ALOT of them an you don't have alot of said ship.. sure some of the most effective an feared ships in their roles were accidentally realized that way
The Gladiator is what the Quasar should have been. Quasars as a hull I find utterly ridiculous; that's no warship, it's a naked freighter with delusions of grandeur! XD
"Hello everyone welcome back to another episode of Allen, my name is Generation Tech"
nice
Was the asteroid dreadnought supposed to be the Eye of Palpatine? If so that was a rather underwhelming summary of it.
Exactly what I was thinkin'. But then that mouse has ruined everything, so no telling...
Yes
If you look back at the Victory Class, it's introduction was in the Brian Daily Han Solo Trilogy.
Had to replay this because I swear I thought I was having a stroke. 😂😂
I love intros where Alan has a stroke
Awesome video as always
The Y-85 Titan Dropship carried 4 AT-ATs AND 4 AT-STs simultaneously, it wasn’t a matter of exclusivity
I like the reference to Conan. Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and the lamentation of their women.
It's nice to see, Alan spicing up his intros sometimes
Definitely not watching the video in x1.5 speed
Hearing that intro while drunk is wild
I enjoy when they play around with the intros, but I knew this video would be good when it started with the Virctory SD. Under sung and very underutilized Destroyer. More of those and less ISD could have beaten the rebellion.
Every point you made about the titan dropship just shows the gozanti is better suited for the role. If I lived in the star wars galaxy I would want a gozanti.
with some of those models having extemely potent laser weaponry the sith star destroyer now makes a lot more sense - and the death star even less.
Hey bro your doing a great job. Love your videos.
I just had a stroke listening to that intro
The intros are so much better stoned 🤣😵💫
The Carrack is one of my favorite ships. Just the sheer fuckery of it impresses me. An insanely fast and overly armed/armored Corvette sized Battleship that can be Crewed by as few as Two People.
The Gladiator looks so badass
Sad you didn't mention the Lancer Class Frigate (I know, not Canon anymore(yet)). Still, good list. I've always had a love of the Victory Class. And the Gladiator Class fits the role of something like a 4th Rate Ship of the Line: a vessel large enough to project power, deter aggressors, and command a small force in a region where it isn't necessary to send heavy fleet elements. One of these acting as the flagship of a task force followed by a pair of Arquiten Light Cruisers, 4 Carracks, maybe 6 Gozantis, say 4 other various small corvettes and frigates would give you a highly mobile force of 15 ships that could hold a patrol a sector without appearing oppressive. Perfect for an area where resistance is minor and not widely supported. And at lower cost than 1 ISD that can't be everywhere in the sector at once.
Lancer has been canon since TFA's tie-ins, that's 2015, but it hasn't appeared anywhere else
@@goodmind4940 that would explain why I didn't realize that. It was an early re-canon and hasn't been touched since. Thanks for the info.
The best Part of the Raider Class Corvette is that it initially did not exist, until Fantasy Flight Games needed a ship of suitable size, for the Galactic Empire. Star Destroyers were too large to be playable in their X-Wing Miniatures game.
So fun fact, the onager model at 5:15 is a game called Project Stardust on of all platforms, roblox, but I seriously suggest you check out if you a Halo, Star Wars or SBY fan!!!!!
Love the Dyslexic intros
Every intro Allan gets closer to having a stroke
The first victory had missile/torpedo launchers on it. And was created and used by the republic.
When Alan spoke of the Eclipse I only noticed the Conan the Barberian refrence
Big fan of the gladiator and the victory class. Crimson victory class was my favorite. A legends ship separated by the fact...its red. Yeah that's about it.
Carrack looks like a mini version of the old republic dreadnought that made up the Katana Fleet
My numb went brain during that intro
Eckhartsladder has an excellent video on the Eclipse's sister ship Eclipse II
My guy had a stroke at the start of this video, damn 😂
The best type of intro.
The moment you realise that the Onager is named after a real life siege weapon
Nice spore rendition of the titan actually
The Onager looks like a rip off from the Midway-Class carrier from Wing Commander Prophecy. That ship even got a large crystal laser towards the end of the game.
wow it does
Oh! Great referens! ”Conan; what is best in life?”
That intro, well done
One thing I would really want to know is what the living quarters are like inside different ships? Since my the ship is going to be my home away from home, I want to know what comforts I can expect to enjoy? What is the difference between the Captains quarters vs stormtroopers vs average officer? How do living quarters differ between dredgenaut vs cruiser vs small freight frigget? Do I get my own kitchen and bathroom with shower? Will I have enough room to host a death stick party?
Hello episode, welcome back to another friend of Allen, my name is Generation Tech!
Lesser known republic ships next? Like the chancellor class, Rothana class, Legacy Class, etc.
Edit: If this is already a thing I’m sorry.
My brain did not have fun with that opening... At all.
I hope the Gladiator will get some love in canon soon. That ship is just great looking and if the Empire spent more on those then super ships there could have been peace in the galaxy.
Victory 1 is missiles victory 2 is firepower
Well if the Jedi order of the high Republic era can have a member who is literally justa big ass rock then I'm fully on board with the asteroid ship of the Galactic Empire lol
Oh hey, the Eye of Palpatine. Don't hear about that a lot.
Even lesser known would be the two asteroid ships the Imperial Remnant used as a sneak attack on a New Republic base in Mysteries of the Sith. They were asteroids converted into mobile bases with bombardment cannons that suddenly opened fire on the unsuspecting base. Playing as Kyle Katarn you have to infiltrate one and retarget the main weapon to blow away the other asteroid before setting the one you were on into self-destruct mode.
Cool Dad joke at the beginning
Great vid GenTech! I really like the Victory class ISD.
Curious, what are your thoughts on the Tie Star Cruiser?
I've confirmed on a few more channels all with the bell rung, only after commenting did the comments return to my feed I sub to like 100 channels but they constantly removed the least interacted with so I'm leaving a comment to make sure you don't get removed from the feed shout out to the Bens and keep up the good work.
Gladiator is one of my favorites
It's fun to see that you use some model from Star Wars Armada miniature game. For those who don't know teh game, it's simply the best miniature game that I play. :)
Great list and bonus points for using my favorite Conan quote.
