    I have the old version of this mower that was my dads. He mowed 1 1/4 acre for 13 years with it until he died and I inherited it. I have a small lot I cut with it. It’s now over 16 years old and still runs. Having small issues with it, it’s over 700 hours I believe. Will definitely get another if mine is no longer repairable. Definitely like the fact you can access the deck through floorboard. Awesome! Enjoy you’ll have it for awhile.

    Thanks for your review! I just bought one and it would not turn on and thanks to your video I noticed that the guys who installed it flipped the negative and positive battery cables which then of course blew the fuse but when I saw your battery I noticed that mine was not right. We bought this mower last year when we bought our new property 6 acres about as tall as what you have, I cut it all down with ease aswell. I also had the same issue with the nuetral enganging parts like you mentioned. I actually called Lowe's and told them it wasn't working, and the told me how to engage. Also if you turn the throttle all the way down and put it in park while you are mowing, it will not die when you get off to move stuff around in the yard.

    I own the exact same model. Hint: if you turn the blades off you can get off the mower and the engine will stay running. I've had mine for 3 yrs. Still starts up quick. Never had a minutes trouble out of it. And that lever you said that makes ot go faster, it does raise the rpms on the engine.

      I've had mine for 4.5 years now and I just took care of a lot of parts to make it look good again. I am still happy with the purchase of it, I think it's well over 500 hours now. I know it will stay running if blades are off, my issue is it doesn't run long, basically bc my steering arms are still tight so after 10 seconds the arms pull back in enough to turn it off. It's more of me needing to loosen a spring I think. Maybe one day. Thanks for the feed back and comment, I'm glad you're enjoying yours as well.

I've owned my ZT for 7 years now and go through twice yearly maintenance which includes Seafoam at the start and end of each mowing season. Never-the- less, the damn fuel pump goes out once a year. G'day mate.. all the way from Australia here. Great review, and all things I'm glad to know.
    Over here, Husky's are a dime a dozen - every second retailer carries them.. so when in the market for a zero turn - like I am - they're hard to miss.
    The Z254 in Australia runs at about $AU8K, (the 248 at about $AU7,3K). I think my only concerns with this is the drive transmission. Its the ZT2200, which is the entry level version. Unfortunately, the Husky's go from the 2200 , up to the 3100, and no in between. I'm also looking at a Hustler SD48 ($AU8K), which runs the ZT2800. As for the Kawasaki engines, everything seems to run them - from the Huskys, the Hustlers, Gravely, and even some Cub Cadets.
    Did you look at any other zero turns before purchasing this?

    • @investinurself3445

      Thanks for watching and replying. So looked and this, John Deere and 1 other one (cant think of bbn it right now, off the top of my head). John deere was reliable but compared to others it was over my budget. The other it was a couple hundred cheaper but looked cheaply made.
      This however looked more quality built, and Kawasaki is a good engine, I did question the drive train and figured for the price I would see what it would do. As for what I have put this thing through so far, I'm very impressed. I have pulled a bush hog (about 800#) over 2 acres going up and down hill (mainly up) over 3-4 foot high grass and never skipped a beat. Also cut a total of 5 acres every 2 weeks since buying it. Very happy with this set up. Hope this helps, but those were the only ones I looked, however i was interested in the hustler and then decided not to just bc i felt those were over priced(just my opinion)

      @utetopia1620 4 года назад +1

      @@investinurself3445 Thanks for replying!
      I agree with the JD. Really expensive, to a point I havent even looked at them (a quick search shows me a 2008 72" with 3300 hours is going for $AU5,500!!)
      I discovered that the MZ48 was comparative to the Hustler Fastrak 48 (both with 23hp Kawasakis, ZT3100), the MZ at $AU10K, and the Fastrak at $AU11,2K.. so yes... a bit dearer for the Hustlers.
      I'm actually hoping to attach a drag harrow or smudge bar on the back to maintain a gravel driveway... so not sure if the ZT2100 is capable... which is why the 23hp, ZT2800 Hustler appeals to me..

    Husqvarna makes nice equipment. However on their mowers, the max blade height is 4 inches. So once an operator gets on the mower, the cutting height is going to be less than 4 inches. The hydro transmissions are somewhat stiff and are noisy. I don't like the way the parking brake works. If you don't get them in the "Sweet Spot", the engine will turn off. The discharge deflector is over sized, and if you are not careful, you will run into things. The front tires on my machine came way overinflated and were rubbing against the bottom of the front casters. Husqvarna's recommended tire pressure is 15 PSI, front and rear. The rear tires are 18"x9.5"-8", and are adequate. I think they should have gone with a 20" tire to give it better traction and more height adjustment.

    My 2017 now has 691 hours and here are my thoughts. Pros Great engine, strong frame, reasonably comfortable. Cons: deck is trash (Mounts keep ripping off) drive belt tensioner pulley locks up and melts every 150 hours. Transaxles are rough and I had one replaced at 175hr, spindles are trash and crack even if your easy with it, parking brake design is worthless, levers get sloppy and need to be tightened often. Would I buy it again? Yes at the time I could only afford one in this price range and I have got lots of use out of it! Would I recommend it to anyone! NO!! Absolutely not!! Get a Toro time cutter, ariens ikon, Gravely ZTX anything but this! P.s Husqvarna does not honor their warranty at all.

      I havent done any maintenance on it yet, I planned on it in the next month or so to see if it's a pain or not however the belt and blades seem to be doing great. I'll just look over those when I do the oil and filter on it. I think I have like 35-40 hours on it as of now

      Unfortunately that's the one thing I wish it had, it doesn't have one which sucks bc I have ran out in my back field a couple times. Now every once in awhile as I'm cutting, I'll open the cap just to see where I'm at. Wish I had better news for you and I wish Husqvarna would make that happen.
