Welcome to my channel! On here i hope to help the normal person to tackle things that i have been doing in my life. Things like an item i may have bought and give a review, update or other info. Will i have all the answers? No! Will there be others ways to do them? Yes! I don't mind constructive criticism but i will not tolerate people being mean. This is a place to hopefully learn things and educate yourself and me as well. Thanks you for stopping by and let me know in the comments how i am doing or just to say HI.

Husqvarna z254f review #2 @100hours
Do you have a video of you removing the rad support?
Unfortunately I don't, it was one of those last minute things I thought about doing. Which was record me doing it. So I made this one to hope let some people understand what I went through to swap it out. Looking back I wish I had bc it seems like a bunch of people are looking for that. I didnt think anyone would have been interested in it. Thanks for the comment and I hope you can understand what I was trying to explain in the video
Im buying mine monday thanks for the review!
No Problem, thanks for watching and dropping a comment
Sounds like you need a commercial mower. 359 hours of mowing in 3 years is way too much for a residential mower unless you want to buy a new mower every 3-4 years. Stop mowing 3 ft tall grass with it. Remember, right tool for the right job.
I appreciate the information. I now have over 600 hours and doing good. A commercial mower would have been great but they are 4x or more of this mower. Sometimes you need to get what you can afford and this one has worked great for me. Thanks for the comment.
I had to search high and low for this. Bless you sir. Hope all is well in the 4 years sense!
Still going great thanks for asking and I appreciate the comment and I hope it helped some.
Nice video, but Husqavarna z254f SUCKS! Big mistake! Will never own another one!
I appreciate the compliment, and sorry you didn't like yours. I still love mine and I have over 600 hours on it. Thanks for the comment
This is probably a very stupid question, but can you use a hover board charger for these? I found one of these selling for very cheap & i wanna buy it to take it as a small project. I have a hoverboard charger that used to be the one my brother would use to charge his hoverboard. The charger looks exactly like the one these use but i wanna be sure. I wanna know if it will work on these even if it charges the pocket bike slow or if i would need to buy a new one for it to be able to be charged
I know they look the same but not sure it they would work. I would say see what the charging voltage info is on the hoverboard and then see online what it is for the bike. I've never tried but worse case you can get chargers for cheap (like $15). Sorry I don't have a definite answer for you, but just doing a fast search and it looks like the pocket bike is a 24v and the hoverboard is a 42v so will it work? not sure.
My spring hooks to other side(2023)
what month was this corolla made? I see a cable style throttle.
Build date 11/04, bought date 12/04. Almost 20 years old
@@investinurself3445 They dropped the 04 motor into your 05 body style corolla. I like the intake manifolds on that 04 motors. I wonder if it is interchangeable w/ the newer motor & throttle body.
Normally the start making the new years model in the year before. For instance, if on 2005 models were coming out the start building them and releasing them to dealers in Aug of 2004. Now did they actually put an 04 engine in my 05, I don't know. All I know is I was working at a toyota dealership and bought mine new so as far as I'm aware is its an 05. Other than that I don't know, beside I know the 2006 was a little different.
I own the exact same model. Hint: if you turn the blades off you can get off the mower and the engine will stay running. I've had mine for 3 yrs. Still starts up quick. Never had a minutes trouble out of it. And that lever you said that makes ot go faster, it does raise the rpms on the engine.
I've had mine for 4.5 years now and I just took care of a lot of parts to make it look good again. I am still happy with the purchase of it, I think it's well over 500 hours now. I know it will stay running if blades are off, my issue is it doesn't run long, basically bc my steering arms are still tight so after 10 seconds the arms pull back in enough to turn it off. It's more of me needing to loosen a spring I think. Maybe one day. Thanks for the feed back and comment, I'm glad you're enjoying yours as well.
@investinurself3445 pull your seat forward and you can adjust your breaks. I think you can adjust that arm as well. I wasn't being a smart butt. I was just letting you know
Gotcha, ill take a look next. Appreciate the info. Nope your good, if I said something that seemed like that. My bad I wasn't meaning too.
@investinurself3445 no you didn't man. I just went back and read what I said and didn't want you to take it the wrong way.
Dang it looks terrible for 400hrs
Yep we were rough on it, replaced and did maintenance on it and looks pretty good now. A lot of the things I ordered for it seemed to be back ordered. Have short videos on my phone of some of it but didn't make a video for it. But I basically took it all apart and cleaned it all up replaced anything missing or broke
@investinurself3445 that's heavy right on man. I picked up a 46" it's got the Briggs/husky engine which is OK. Would have preferred a kawi or even Kohler. The reason I was trolling ye is because I'm experiencing some issues with the steering arms- right one is finicky and doesn't seem to have the radius or smooth movements that the left one does. Also the throttle after running it for a while if you try to throttle down before shutting it off it doesn't drop revs. Any advice? I'm going to go through what you're talking about in your video.
@ProteusOmnipotens-ov8oo I'm not sure if it was new or used but I would assume used or it has some time ran, as for the throttle I would say that sounds like the carb needs cleaned or the wire that adjust the throttle needs adjusted. For the arm being kinda weird I couldn't really tell you. Could just need some lube on something or even the joint is bent to some degree, that would need some more looking into. Hopefully this helps to some degree and sorry I can't be more helpful but without it being in front of me it's hard to say.
thanks for the video man, was wondering what the purpose of the spring is? and what doubling it does
It's a tensioner pulley, it pulls the belt tight. One spring wasn't pulling it tight enough so when I added a second it worked great and still is to this day. Thanks for the comment and question.
Hey man I just bought mine yesterday, I’m only 19 and don’t know much. Was wondering if you could maybe make a video on maintenance ? And just general advice you have for owning this
Awesome congrats. I have many videos on maintenance and also went over the manual. If you are looking for something in particular please let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
Change oil in Hydro Gear Box's ((yearly)20w50 synthetic
My clutch 16mm bolt fell out(2nd year),one idler bearing went out
I put springs on rubbers under seat(no drilling ),lot better ride
That's a great idea
I will never buy another Husqvarna again. At 270 hours I was told I had to replace both transmissions just after warranty expired. $950 each plus shipping plus labor. I bought another brand instead.
Husqvarna uses Turbo-Gear transmissions, which are on many mower brands, so you need to check which transmissions you have if you think that was the problem. Not very many manufacturers make their own engines or transmissions.
What brand did you go with instead? Piled up before 300hrs?? Hm Huskys aren't top of the line but I've never had a "lemon" problem with their machines
Sorry you had that issue, hopefully it wasn't someone just trying to make money off of you. Like I said I thought it was the transmissions and turned out I just need more pressure on the tensioner pulley and all was good. But as above those transmissions are in quite a few zero turns like cub cadet and I bought my transmissions for $900 each and that was after I rebuilt them and thought I had messed them up. I didn't and I bought new transmissions for no reason which is why I did this video.
I just got one put new coil and battery in it but get no spark plug is new and I tested the ohms from cdi box connectors and everything checks out and I followed the manual guidelines and now I'm stumped I want to junk it it's so aggravating but I need help please the grounds are all good and clean so help me please
Just asking but is the kill switch on? If so switch it and see if that works.
Probably the worst mower I ever owned. In the same cutting I have bucking bronco and Tokyo slide.. It’s hard to even get it out of the garage without it bouncing around. Took it back to a place to work on it and they said “ nothing wrong “ …. Well crap……
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I've had mine for almost 5 years with about 460 hours and it's still doing great. Matter of fact I did a bit of maintenance on it and it's running better than ever
Labai svarbus daiktas 😵
So,in the three years since this video, how have the drive motors held up? Just curious.
Great, I replaced them thinking it was the transmissions but it was a loose belt. They have worked great, tires slip a little bit but that's it. I have over 500 hours on it now
Thanks, don't be so hard on yourself!
I appreciate that, thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much! I have a '04 laramie 1500 and I love it. This video helped me keep it on the road.
That's great, I'm glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.
What do you gap the shark plugs at?
That was painful to hear. Sorry man. We have all pissed money away working on cars mowers excetra. Could you not had found a zero turn with a bad deck or motor. Most all of these type of mowers only use a couple different size drives. Most are all made by MTD. Not to rub it in but I bought this mower in a 2 blade 46 used that said needs belt and battery sold as is. it was at a local farm center. So I told him if I bought a battery and it starts and moves I will take it. I knew getting the deck going was going to be not near as expensive as a drive. It started right up and I look at the hour meter and it said 4.5 hours. Some dude bought it new and hit something it broke a spindle bent a blade and then it would never restart. It was new so he took it back and they sent it to a local repair shop to fix the motor. I guess the sudden dead stop sheard the key shaft on the flywheel and it was out of time. So the fix it but they kept it all winter before getting to it. They kept it outside. A new mower just left it in the rain and snow for about six months. The nex spring the dude was ready to get his mower back and when they pulled it around and it was weathered he said I am not taking that it was brand new. SO some how the gave him a new mower and this one was suppose to went back on warranty but never did. So 2 years later the farm center manager just wanted it gone and put it out front with a sign. $200 As is need blade belt and battery. So I grabbed it up lightning fast. I had to put a spindle on it and new blades but the belt was good but the tension spring was missing. So I got a almost new 2021 z246 for less than $350.
That's awesome, $350.Nice
Is the transmission very slow or would you say pretty good in speed and power (i think it's zt 2200 right)?
It's an ezt 2200 I'm pretty sure and as for the transmissions, they are ok. With me loving to race cars it's not fast for me but for a mower it's not bad. The speed keeps up with the cutting blades so im good with it. Now if you are asking does it have the speed of the $10+ commercial mowers, the answer is no but does okay. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.
dont be washing your equipment with water especially on the deck, it ruins the bearings
also moist grass is harder on the deck belts
Bought an older 48" cut, used, some years ago. It started not going forward. Found the idler spindle frozen to the idler arm for the drive belt. Disassembled, cleaned and reamed out the idler arm hole to .001" over. Lubed, reassembled and no more problems.
Nice info thanks for the comment
Hey man! How did I get that battery off?? It won’t seem to come even after those two screws
It should just slide right on out. Sorry about the late response and hopefully you got it out. Mine I just pulled up and it came out. Thanks for the comment.
Glad you found the problem.
Yea, I wish I didn't have to buy 2 new transmissions to figure that out. Oh well, that's why I did the video so no one does the same thing I did. Thanks for the comment
You had a transmission drive belt slipping.
Yep that's what it was
I have the same mower, when are you going to install arm rests?
I would love to but I don't have the spare cash to get them to try, but if I ever get to that point I would love. I'm sure it would help my shoulders from hurting after being on it for hours. (Bc I have bad shoulders from sports). Thanks for the comment. ( I hope one day I can make that video though)
he is a mechanic
I am not a mechanic, bc if I was this would be my project mower on blocks. Lol just kidding. But I'm not a mechanic at all but I'm like most people, I need stuff done/fixed but can't afford the prices these other places are charging for these..... along with vehicles so I look at it as a time to learn something new. Thanks for watching.
I suggest anyone who lives on any kind of incline and has this mower to invest in studded tractor or off-road ATV style tires. "Turf saver" tires are already prone to slipping and the hydros on this particular mower are not very good at easing on the power. These 2 things combined with any type of incline and you will do far more damage to your lawn from constant slipping with turf savers than you ever will running tires with an aggressive tread. Keep in mind though that there is very little clearance between the body and the stock tire so if you want to go any wider you'll need some kind of spacer.
I agree, thanks for the comment
Were did you get the parts?
I'm not sure, but want to say A1 Auto. Com or carparts.com but I ordered everything online. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment
I've had very similar problems with my Zero turn Husqvarna. The right side often barely works. Seems OK for the first 10 minutes or so. Local dealer said sometimes air gets into the hydraulics! Thanks for this info re the spring. It has been missing badly so yesterday I took the fuel tank off and drained it and checked the line to the engine. Lo and behold it had clogged with dust etc that had gotten into the fuel tank.
Thanks for the info and the comment
Found a great lil’ 2006 Toyota Corolla following exhaustive search with 180k. One owner, garage kept, Texas vehicle (not a spec of rust). Anywho’s one day after titling and gittin’ inspect tags hit a deer (they are thick as thieves here in Md this year) a demoed entire front end along with left front fender. Envision mine lookin’ lot like ur’s when done. I pretty much stole it $ wise so annuder 1-1.5k fer parts my labor and alotta patience is of no concern.Very much appreciate runnin’ across ur vid and come away with renewed sense of optimism. Thx fer the vid! Was unable to find any info in ur post/ vid bout where u got those parts though. Helo a brother out and post here in a reply? Thx again and look forward to checkin’ out ur other vids!
Hey, awesome find and thanks for the comment. As for answering your question, I want to say I got all my parts from carparts.com I had them within a week (most showed up in about 4-5 days) hope this helps.
Why would you leave the air flow for the engine completely clogged with grass? Some will never know….
I do it to see how many people get upset. Lol. Thanks for the comment.
Thank God I found your video after searching RUclips for a couple hours… two springs fixed my mower as well… it’s pulling better than it ever has!!!
That is awesome. I'm glad to hear that. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, it’s sep 2023. Approx 4 years since you made this video. After 4 years, what do you think about this brand and this zero turn mower?? Does it with the test of time, so to speak?
After 4 years of this machine, i can still say its a great zeroturn. I have put this thing through things a commerical grade mower probably shouldnt do and its still holding up great. Well minus a wire fence situation. Other than that which wasnt the zeroturns fault its a tank in my mind and we use it every weekend just about and my youngest daughter has been even using it. If the question do i still recommend it? Yes i totally do recommend this zeroturn. Thanks for the question and comment.,
@@investinurself3445 hey thank you for the response I the a brand new (very first) Z248F Premier edition. Was concerned about it, glad to hear you's works well
Great video Rob. Getting the original plate off was still hard as the text mentioned it has hooks. The grommets are a bit of a pain to align all three and bolt in. Wiring was super simple. The LED light bar looks brighter in real life. Thanks to the help.
Glad it helped and thanks for the comment and feed back
You didn't rebuild a damn thing you bought a whole new transmission bahahahahahahahaha
Lol. What's up troll. I did rebuild the transmission and thought I messed something up so I bought a new transmission. Come to fine out I didn't, I just needed to add a spring. Thanks for the comment and supporting the channel.
So you rebuilt the transmission but you can't find some screws to fix the pulley guard??? Ok buddy whatever you say 🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad you watched the video Buddy!
What a gomer of all the videos to troll he picks a lawn mower repair video which he couldn't even afford to rebuild or buy new himself. Tits on a bull that guy
Don’t forget about the grease points.
Yep, I need my grease gun to come in. Thanks for the heads up and thanks for the comment
@@investinurself3445 no thank you sir. It was your video and helpful advice was the reason I got mine.
Mine keeps running if the steering levers are all the way pushed out.
Probably need to adjust at the transmission. A screw is there to set the where the neutral setting (not move) is. Just needs to be tweaked
The blades that come on it are very thin. Put different blades on it when you do your maintenance.
Thanks for the advice and the comment
I bought a Husq 254F special edition 4 wks ago. I live on a 5.5 acre horse property with no horses, pastures were 2ft tall, not cut all summer. Took me 28 hours to cut the whole place, had to make 2 passes for the pastures. Whole place looks like a lawn. Mine has the 23 hp Kawasaki. Very powerful. Love that machine.
Same engine I have but I don't have the special edition. Awesome to hear. Thanks for the comment
Hey man you you have your drive belt tension pulley and spring going on the wrong side . You had drive problems because of a drive belt is worn and is not in the right position. Look back at your light kit video it shows pulley going to right side. Replace drive belt and fix belt placement it will work better. You are not alone in doing this. I have fixed many others that did the same thing.
I'll check the next time I go out but I'm pretty sure I have it hooked to the left side. (Could be my camera inverted the picture so it looks like its going to the opposite side). I appreciate the comment and I'll give it a look. Thanks
@@investinurself3445 wecanfixit has good video on belt routing
You think i could use it for a small business? Maybe 20 25 yards a week?
I dont see that being an issue at all. I do 5 acres a week on it, so go for it. Thanks for the comment.
I got one of these 2 weeks ago, mowed my 5.5 acre horse property that has no horses. it did great, the pastures had not been cut all summer, were 2 ft tall grass and weeds. Had to make two passes in the deep stuff but the whole place looks like a lawn now. Engine is very powerful, I have the Kawasaki.
That's awesome thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the review. How many acres are you knocking down with that and about how many times a year?
I've used it on 4 of my 5 acres. Used it 3-4 times since owning it. Was going to use it to start a small business of cutting people's lawn but just never found the time. So it sits in my garage now bc I have horses that take care of most of the grass. So as much as I like it, I'm probably going to be selling it soon. But the times I have used it, it's saved my butt from everything being over grown. Great work horse in my opinion. Thanks for the comment.
