Hey Kurt is the version of holiday road done by Vector Hold? I really dig the song I have been checking out some of his music on band camp reminds me of Jan Hammers work. Great sound!
This was great! I love how you involved your family (I’m guessing, or strangers you found along the way) and recreated some of the scenes, I laughed my ass off.
The amount of time & effort put into creating this is staggering. A fitting tribute for a classic slice of my childhood. A simple thank you barely scratches the surface. Hats off to you my friend!
Kurt, I lived in Durango for 15 years. The silver cash register that Chevy Chase stole the money out of inside of the Straighter Hotel is still there till this day behind the counter
I have many "favorite" movies, but the original Vacation will always be my number one! Your research and details are most excellent! Thank you, Kurt, for putting this together!
Your joy for film and love of the movies really show in your videos. You are my favorite filming locations RUclipsr and I really appreciate all your work on your videos. Thank You!
Bro your videos are so much fun but this one was just EPIC! Your meltdown scene deserves an Oscar! You are living your best life and watching your family be involved and enjoying it too is heartwarming. I’m always ready for what’s next!
Great job! I showed my dad the Warner Ranch and Gremlins filming location videos, he loves all those movies, he raised me on Second City, can't wait to show him this one, keep up the good work! 👍
Such a good video of the filming locations and great re-enactments.. all time classic movie and one of my favorites. This video will be right there in one of my favorites. Well done! Thank you .
She'a beaut, Kurt. My buddy got to work on the production as a production assistant when they filmed the Wally World stuff at Santa Anita. We were in high school and they had a very local specific class you could take called "race track management" so he was working at the race track and got picked to drive Chevy around in a golf cart. Pretty cool. Thanks for making this one
Brilliant video Kurt really enjoyed it I'm definitely going to watch more then once and I'm going to share it with a lot of my friends you are definitely the king of Filming locations and more 👍
Maybe your best video Kurt. Love how you incorporated the family into the video. So many funny lines in Vacation that you guys nail. Great job with all of the details of the locations. Love your channel, keep up the great work.
Hi Kurt, Jeff from Detroit. You just did one of my Top 10 movies. I never knew the gas station was on Santa Monica Blvd. I stay in that area all of the time when I visit, and I think my son and I ate at a restaurant that was where the gun shop was shown. My mind is blown! I don't know how you don't have 500k subs yet, as I've been enjoying your videos for many years. Keep up the great work!
Kurt, love all your videos, but this is by your best. I actually was right there on Leroux last year and didn't even realize the significance of that location. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you so much for taking me back in time to my childhood through a great era in cinema.I just pulled the DVD out of my movie collection to watch as soon as I get a chance.I love how you raced your son from the lot to the front gate at Walley World.Great stuff.😊👍🏽
An absolutely amazing video. Best ive watched this year. This movie hods amazing memories for me and the detaolmin your video is spot on. I really appreciate people like you who take the time to create things like this.
80s Life- I was born 5½ years before 'National Lampoon's Vacation' came out & I didn't see it until sometime in the mid-1990's. My dad loves this movie & was the person who first introduced me to it, as a matter of fact. Thanks, a lot!...
Wow, wow, wow!! Amazing investigative work and I love how you show the movie scene, show the location and then show the scene again. Your attention to detail is acknowledged and appreciated.
😂 dancing with a bologna sandwich and your skit with your son at the hotel cracked me up. This was so freaking awesome! You did freaking a lot of work and we appreciate it!!!
Long time Flagstaff resident...since 1971. The bar scene where he meets Christie was actually filmed in Flagstaff as well - the restaurant was called "The Steak House" 914 E. Rt 66. It has since been turned into a mortuary!! The place where they leave grandma was ALMOST shot at my next door neighbors house but there was 1 step on the rear patio that didn't work for the camera angle or camera track (don't remember which).
Well done, sir! Warms my heart seeing the original locations...and realizing I've stood at the lobby at the Strader Hotel in Durango without even knowing it was used in the movie!
This video was supposed to come out in 2023 for the 40th anniversary. See the description for more details. I hope you enjoy!
Love all the videos aunt Edna really had a stroke and they had to stop filming. Was a hard shot since they went to each place.

What was your bands name? I've heard you reference it in several videos and I'm curious. Nice video, as always!
This was great! I love how you involved your family (I’m guessing, or strangers you found along the way) and recreated some of the scenes, I laughed my ass off.
Same Car Dealership in Commando ? The on where he drove out the window at the beginning
Big thanks for doing the research and travel to make this video. This is one of my very favourite movies of all times.
Wow, you did an excellent job putting this video together. Your locations, then and now, were perfect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The amount of time & effort put into creating this is staggering. A fitting tribute for a classic slice of my childhood. A simple thank you barely scratches the surface. Hats off to you my friend!
You’d think he’d know the car wasn’t called the “Queen Family Truckster” though.

Roy Wally, is also The Toy Store owner in Home Alone 2 Lost in New York!
Right, Eddie Bracken was a famous actor from the WW2 era and forward. I think playing Mr. Duncan in Home Alone 2 may have been his last movie.
Roy Wally is a parody of the actual Walt Disney
@@RobertEllis-e7p or Roy Disney who took over the company upon his brother's death.
Wow, I never realized Mr. Wally and Mr. Duncan were the same person. As the saying goes, you learn something new every day! Thanks. 👍
I’m happy you finally got to release this obvious labor of love.
ME TOO! haha. Thank you so much!
I hope Warner is finally giving you the escrow from this. You deserve it especially for all of this hard work and quality.
