  • A simple French Bread recipe for a 2 lb loaf of bread uses 1 1/3 cups of warm water, 1 1/2 tbsps olive oil, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbsps sugar, 4 cups of bread flour, and 2 tsp bread machine or rapid rise yeast. Add the ingredients in this order, especially if you will be using a timer.

    I added 3/4 cup to 1 cup of freshly graded Parmesan on top of the flour, before the yeast. Turned out wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
