Great journey back in time, thanks for sharing. I remember that a lot of guys used to laugh at the old IH cab-overs at 1:00 but they were a good solid piece of equipment and built to be easily serviced (They were also $20,000 less than a Pete or KW). I worked for an outfit once that had a whole fleet of the old cab-over Transtars and they were perfect for hostling trailers around town, they were also one of the easiest cab-overs to see out of also. I would guess that the 359 is around a 1976 model, I think 1977 is when Pete removed the oil check door in the hood: Thanks for posting!
What you refer to as the crooked Kenworth logo is known as the "Rockin' KW" bug and the last year it was used was 1972. Also, Oscar's billboard truck is a 60's White 4000. Love these junkyard walkarounds!

Those Ross steering boxes, you need the motor mount on drivers side and some other jewelry on that corner... "cab mount maybe" as its not just a bolt right on deal. Been too many years but I pulled the Gemmer box off and put that Ross box on and I had a couple days into it. Wish I could remember .... had to drill some of the holes in the frame too. But one minute after turning the wheel was ... "You couldn't force my smile in a fifty gallon bucket" I was so happy. Made driving twin sticks a pleasure to drive as it just freed up your arms!!!
Love when you’re on the hunt. Those crooked KW badges are great. That one even had it on the gas pedal. That old Dodge COE is super rare and should be restored.
The worst thing I ever found about my old LN1000 as they came with a hydraulic slave cylinder just like most Dodge trucks still do and they were notorious to leak down. Of course you got to rebuild them when it happens but learn real fast stop close to cars, people or things.

Just finished my first term after deciding to go back to school. 44 yrs old and going back. One step closer to that dream of rebuilding my own Pete! Thanks for the motivation Twinsticks!
I had a 79' IHC, Transtar ll. The original motor was a 430DD, they were supposed to be top of the line, passed everything but a fuel stop. It was a one owner truck, 2.5million miles and 5 different motors, all Cummins, had a 290 in it when I picked it up for 2500US, turned way up, a real tough little truck as long as you didn't try to climb any hills, lol. I believe the KW with the setback axle is model 952, early 70's, there's a cheap one on CL, LI, NYC. Love that aero KW, very comfy for a Cabo. The chipmunk driven KW is tits, what a waste of a winch truck. Great video, makes me want to go to 🇨🇦.
those pay stars bring back memories of the load stars i drove on the farm. we had a few with potato boxes with full length bets and the cab over had a grain box i use to run loads of corn down to Dads dog food plant in Melville, Pa. they all had cat 3208's backed up with worthless automatics but man what a feeling sitting up in that cab looking down over the cars! it was half a blessing that i could drive them on the road since they were farm registered (i know, right?) but i still enjoyed it. i had a friend who haled a tanker. use to love riding with him. that's why i subbed; there is just something about them big ol trucks that touches the soul. never got a CDL, my wife wouldn't let me.i kept trying to tell her she would love seeing the country views as i drove by them but she never gave in.; sadly
This past summer there was a 359 for sale in the truck paper. It was a single axle day cab. Just a beautiful original tractor. But it had a bench seat also. The driver seat was seperate and it had seating for 2 passengers.
Especially the heavy duty Autocars and Mack’s, float tires , double frames and deep reduction gears are all money making trucks to this day. They aren’t fast or comfortable or flashy but you can latch em to 100 tons and go.
They can't. They are old and rusty and they rattle like hell. Fitting a new drivetrain is too much work and they will still get worse fuel mileage because they got 0% aerodynamics.
That old dodge was kool never saw a cab over with those type steps on front of the cab like that and that 359 at the end that was such a great truck never saw a door flap on the hood like that and that bench seat before.such a great old truck sad it is just wasting away like that hope you left your number in case ever comes up for sale thanks for posting the junk yard gold love it keep um coming
I like the looks of the older International cab over trucks, I had a uncle who drove a International cab over similar to this one, even the cab over trucks with the square headlights still looked nice then eventually the International cab over trucks were ugly when redesigned.
Changed a few split ring rim tires in my early days. I remember the coaching back then... airing these babies up on the ground. Don't stick your head anywhere near the split ring... but you had to make sure it would seat. I hated the tubes... but they were good for patching and tubing down the river :-)
I started riding with the two men who taught me how to drive trucks when I was around14. We were on our way to Ogden, UT. and had stopped in Salina, KS. at the old Gulf Truckstop to eat breakfast. We always cut through the corner of the shop when the big doors were up because the bathrooms were in the hall that went from the fuel desk back to the shop. Just before we reached the big doors, I saw a crowd gathered in the shop. My trainer put his arm in front of me and said we better use the other door this morning. He ask at the fuel desk what had happened and told me later that morning, one of those split lock rings came off and took the side of the tire man's head off and killed him. I never was scared of them but I had a hell of a respect for them.
That old Kenworth looked like an S model. The set back axle is really common in Australia. Have a look at a T650 or T409. I love the old KWs with the crooked emblem. Very rare.
That last Piterbuilt looks amazing. I love those dual round headlights, the thiner bumper and the split windows. It needs to be driven, at least localy.

Love the look of them International Transtars it look like working man's truck ready for business. I've only seen two on the road myself.
That’s so cool that the guy recognized you just by the sound of your voice 👍
Love the ending, You still here? It’s over, go home...LOL
Really cool

I commend you for the dig at whistling diesel. Ha ha great content keep up the good work.
i like the way you walking past the newer trucks like they are not even there🤣🤣
I've noticed that too
So true
I absolutely love your on the hunt videos OH YEH I also love the rebuild videos as well, I’m glad I stumbled across your page... TJ
Wow, some nice stuff!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
im binge watching your episodes ... love these old irons
Lol just love how aerodynamic them dodge cabovers are compared to now a days
That set-back axle Kenworth sure is rare. W900-S12 was the model number I believe. Also kind of funny seeing an IH truck painted John Deere colors.
This past summer there was a 359 for sale in the truck paper. It was a single axle day cab. Just a beautiful original tractor. But it had a bench seat also. The driver seat was seperate and it had seating for 2 passengers.
The paint on that 359 is incredible, I love the classic paint schemes!
Dutch yt łl 4th J coke tkm
Go.
Just sucks seeing those rigs rotting when they could be restored or turned into something useful, that doesn’t have a tree growing through it...
i'd love to if i could, It really itches sometimes.
But unfortunately there usually isn't enough time, Or money, or bot time and money. To do it :(
Especially the heavy duty Autocars and Mack’s, float tires , double frames and deep reduction gears are all money making trucks to this day.
Thanks so much for the beautiful vlogs is great fun to see the trucks!!!
That 351 in the beginning is awesome!! One of my favorite peterbilts
That ending was beautiful
Thank you for your videos really enjoy watching.
Saw the south land international sticker and I was like what are the odds sweet to see a southern ab guy into the old rigs.
I'm a new subscriber, your channel came up as a suggestion in my feed. LOVE LOVE LOVE the 81 Kenworth K100!!!! Love the content!
That old Paystar was the truck I learned to drive in; way back in 86.
Cummins and 8LL trans.
Still driving. Owner Operator.
Love how you add the vintage advertising in your videos. Greetings from Wyo.
Hope all you guys are members of American Truck Historic Society. Great way to scratch that ol truck itch!
The peterbilt with the tree shading it. The body cab hood bumper and grill and fenders were in really good condition.
Hello, here In Miami, Florida there is a place that has about four needle Nose Kenworth. Sitting on their lot and a few other old trucks.
That tree 359 is bad ass it’s like begging to get back on the road
That Mack was a full blooded. Meaning it had a Mack engine and transmission. Pretty cool video
Never disappointed with the content. Great editing to
I've wondered what has happened to this Pete. It's 2024 and now, I'm thinking if this Pete is still there.
Love the tractors ..but hell nice lil salvage yard ...
Love the old Irons 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Absolutely stunning K100. You definitely need to get one later. I hope you've been filling those lottery tickets.
Love the ending. The movie inserts def add to the videos.
Love those diamond plate fenders. Badass look
Dang there is still alot of good stuff on the road. Imagine what the 359 would look like if the paint were buffed
Love these Junk yard trips, thanks for letting me tag along .
Those K100’s with the Seattle package are rare. It’s mint!! 👍🏽
Love the old movie clips incorporated into the videos
Man id like to see that old truck with the trees in it running again like it wouldve years ago
Another great video! That K100 is my buddies truck. He’s restored a couple old trucks.
Very rare.
Enjoying the hunt. I can tell your excited you forget you have the camera lol i get motion sick. But enjoy your enthusiasm
Ohhhh man that poor old trans Star! All the work that old Cab over put in and it’s just left to rot? Man I’d love to save it!
Now that's fun, glad I watched til the end...
I love to see them run
Videos keep getting better and better. Keep on trucking brother
That paint job is just great
