    Old Macks never die, they just end up being awaken in a RUclips video after a long sleep. That old dog has been asleep for a long time. She'll wake up and run. Bruce there's a guy who does restorations on B model Macks named Matt Phal in PA I believe. He may be able to give you some tips on the pump. He has a website last time I checked, Phal restorations.

    G’day Bruce. You’re on the right track with the stuck fuel rack.
    It’s in the no fuel position. You need to lubricate where the rack spins each barrel and plunger. Once it’s lubricated, gently pry it or tap it forward. If you get it to move forward, you may need to tap it backwards through the plug in the cover from the front end.
    If it’s really tight you may need to spin the engine over while you’re prying it forward, but make sure you have the injector lines loosened first so it doesn’t accidentally start while the rack is still forward.
    I have a video on my channel old rigs down under on a Mack 6 cylinder pump. It might help you out. No need for ether.
    Good luck mate.

    The big canister is a Luberfiner oil filter. There is a filter inside and it holds 2 gallons of oil. It is very likely a model 750B, the model number is stamped in the middle of the cannister. You can still get the filters. And I would definitely replace the hoses on the bottom if they look rotten.

It's super easy to make your own harness yourself or several different places sell just about everything you need to rebuild that old mack

    Brother the reason that truck was parked was Cowboy probably got it for a project for one day on a trade or something but that man had more junk than he knew what to do with that place where you pulled the white superpower out of used to be stacked from one corner to the other line up along the roadway plumb back into the woods it looks like a completely different place since they cleaned it out. I used to look like some sort of scrap yard or something when you drive up through there but there was tons of actual treasures in there and old trucks like that just really neat stuff that he got along the years you just had to get through some of the junk to find it. Also that Mack was pulled up on that Hill sometime in the last 12 years for sure I just don't know if it was running then.

    Well, it now sounds like it has good compression on all six. I think if you can get that pump freed up without having to pull it, you'll have it made! Even if you have to pull it off, it should be pretty easy to get in in top shape on the bench, and she should fire right off! Can't wait for part duece!😄👍👍👍

    A 215 thermadine needs all injectors bled, a the top bleeder nut on the pump, then tighten each one after it starts, many of those old Mack's had 5×3 granny's, and a huge side mounted oil filter, on constructional trucks only.

    I think that canister is an air tank for a trailer brake. Ive seen one on another type of truck mounted on the front bumper. There will be a hand brake lever that goes to it also inside the cab. I cant see it well enough in the video to say. But good on you for loosening up the pump there was no way it was gonna run like that. Also before you start it remove and blow out all the fuel lines so you dont get debris in the pump or the injectors. Also put a little diesel in a spray bottle and spray that in the intake instead of starter fluid.

    • @Losermachine35
      @Losermachine35 5 месяцев назад

      Also, rebuilding those starters is super easy. Most likely just needs cleaning on the armature and some fresh brushes and oil the bearings.
