I'm an engineer who wants to be a trucker too. I did it and I loved it, but I left it and married and have kids in college. I'd LOVE to be driving again ... maybe when I retire :)
@@matthewb8229 True ... but apparently they planned ahead with the request years ago for someone to digitize the original. I appreciate that they cared.
You gotta understand tho. Mark plans his life down to 30s intervals! 2-3 months out! If he misses a red light at an intersection he can ruin months of planning! 😂
Matt, watch Mark's "Smokey & The Bandit TransAm Ep.9 Mistakes Were Made" I built Mark a 1 25th scale model of the Snowman and Bandit. Mark opens my package near the end of the video and just loved it!! Check it out! Cheers🍻 Earl
I am one of his fans and have been following him from the beginning. Yes, he is one of a kind. Even people who don't like trucks appreciate it. You really captured his unique talent very well in this episode.
As a 17 year old I worked for Bulls Transport in Adelaide, South Australia replacing 32 to 40 blown tyres on split rims a day off road trains that ran to Darwin 6 days a week. This was back when the highway was majority dirt. (yes i used a safety cage every-time.)
While Mark was building his Snowman and trailer, it inspired me to build a model of the same along with the Trans Am. I contacted Mark in early September and let him know that when I finish it I will gift it to him. It turned out really good for not building any models in over 15 years. Mark opened my package in "Smokey & The Bandit Trans Am Ep.9 Mistakes Were Made" and he just loved it. mark sent me special gift in return too. He is 1 genuine person!! It was great to see you guys interview Mark at the Lesco Truck show! It would great come out west and meet Mark in person! Cheers 🍻 Earl Widmeyer
I'm a fan of and have been watching Twin Sticks channel ever since he started with Little by little, the Pete, from witch he's working on know. Awesome RUclips channel. A must see
Now that is awesome! I've seen this movie so many times, it's probably part of why I am so obsessed with trucks. You can tell he had a passion for this build too
Beautiful truck , I was a mechanic for 50+ years I did many split rims , tires, tubes and changing rings and rims , never use a cage and never had a problem , still have my tools to do rims .
You gotta respect the hell out of Mark and the story is an inspiration to me. I took a gap year before starting college and got my class A CDL here in the US and drove for a little bit. I dropped it once I started school. But I keep my CDL current so hopefully one day I can be like mark and restore and drive my own truck. Love the build and love the story
And now to add to the list he has a Freightliner flc-120 that he's gonna build out to be a replica of the "Big Trouble in Little China" truck. May have to move out of that nice neighborhood soon and get a bigger shop 😂
I highly recommend watching Big Trouble. Or re-watching. Kurt doing John Wayne throughout, and the pre CG special effects are things I didn'tappreciate the first time I saw it. Smokey is in my top 5 favorite movies.
“Like I told my last wife, I says, '"Honey, I never drive faster than I can see."' Besides that, it’s all in the reflexes." "Everybody relax, I’m here.” -Jack Burton Its probably my favorite 80's movie. Jack Burton is best 80's action movie character with the greatest lines ever.
Wow that dash brings back memories of my dad 1970 w900, working the mines carting dirt for gold extraction. That truck just went nonstop very rarely broke down .
I watched Twin stick garage working on this tribute to Smokey and the Bandit truck and his passion for this truck is amazing. This is one beautiful truck.
Got to see this beautiful beast on highway 2 northbound, i damn near had to do a double take. I told my fiancé to pull out the phone and take pictures. I never hopped out of the fast lane so damn fast in my life. I hope one day i get to see it again out in the wild.
Just started watching you, been watching twinsticks since the start of this project. It is soo cool. He really has spent a lot of time and effort to make it correct.
I'm sitting here in Central AB on the step of my tractor supposed to clean Corral's just take a break guys with a Barley pop Mark Rich Peg...the legends....
Great episode really enjoyed it. I am probably the number 1 fan of Twin stix garage and I faithfully watch every episode that comes out every Thursday morning at 5 AM. sometimes I don't get to watch it for a few days because up until the 15th of October I was still employed as a driver, and after 49 years of driving I retired. I watched every episode the the Snowman build and in fact I knew that truck before Mark bought it, It was owned by friends of mine that I knew from my many years in rodeo here in Alberta. Great interview and now you have gained another fan on your channel.
Was great seeing two of my favorite channels connect at a show. @TwinStix - I completely get being an engineer and wanting to drive semi trucks. I too am an aerospace engineer working in the defense industry and haul food grade tanker on the weekends as a stress reliever.
Mechanical Engineer degree 1968 , couple years later got my Class A chauffeurs license. Drove my uncles heavy rig .pullin construction equipment. I enjoyed driving it was very relaxing !
Driving truck was my dream job since i was a kid. I got to drive for about 10 years. An i miss it everyday. But life changes along the way. Im happy i can say i did my dream job. Because so many people dont get the chance to say that.
Thanks for the update ❤❤ I followed twin sticks for a while during during the 🚜 building!! Glad he is reaping All his hard work and Saturdays!! A retired otr truck driver of 21 years o/o..now 64, Ms T Ellis Ne USA 😂😂❤❤ .one of the movies beside Movin On with claud Atkins that inspired me to drive!! Graduated in 79. Both of your channel's are interesting and if and inspiring!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
That’s awesome! Love both of your channels. Keep up the great work. And looking forward to the Pork chop express Twin Sticks! The only reason I watch that movie is for that truck!
Not the only engineer who wanted to be a trucker. I’ve loved trucks since I can remember, got my 1A when I was 19 and am an Engineer. If it wasn’t where I was, I’d be in Denton Texas.
Got my AZ on a Old kenworth many years ago Back in 88. Smokey & The Bandit one of the greatest timeless classics of all time. Movie was made when I quit high school in grade ten moved out west worked in the coal mines with two of my brothers in Grande Cache Alberta. Ya did a good job Mark on restoring that ole rig.
Two of my favourite you tubers! Mint! I stand corrected! Didn’t know Peg was in it! THREE OF EM! Annnnd now I’m drunk because I had a sip everytime Mark said ‘movie correct’ 😂
I shit you not, im literally 18 years old and actually was first interested in Smokey and the Bandit when i was probably 15 or so. Love it. Ive probably seen it 100 times tbh😂
Twin Sticks is my guy, this was an exceptional video. Oh, and I’m not Canadian, I’m American but I’m huge in Canada. And I’m a huge Smokey and the Bandit fan!! Well done, DEBOSS.
I've been watching Mark's channel for several years and have been amazed at progress he has made on his numerous projects. He learns as he works and his skillset has definitely gotten more broad over the years. I am really looking forward to when he has the Trans-Am and Buford's Cop Car done.
I been watching this Dude Mark from the start man 4 years i had no idea ? I'm your neighbor in Cayuga 🙄and Pegin- legin from Frostbackistian OMG Cosby Sauce all around! And you don't need to worry about safety ? Minty
My Dad's best friend has been a log truck and low boy driver his entire adult life, just retired. INSISTED on having a Peterbuilt. My oldest son and I hunt with them. Everytime we see a Kenworth we go, "WOW! Look at that SWEET KW!!!" Drives him crazy, in reality we couldn't care less what brand it is.
24:04 Fellow engineer here who also drives commercially on the side. Got by class B driving charter bus in college, it stuck with me and it's now is my beer money gig. Only complaint is I wish I would have gotten my A license. As Ronnie Millsap said, I am a prisoner of the highway.
The most American stuff is always done by the coolest Canadian RUclips guys. Marks auction hunts are great too! He takes the camera I feel I would everytime. Guys top notch! Peg is class. I remember hearing about VGG through Peg's shoutout. I think TwinSticks as well, but I watch enough truck videos that might have been natural. Another cool Canadian is Timelapse Trucker. He runs heavy, C500 Kenworth, a healthy ISX or X15 Cummins, and has great shots as well. Thanks guys!
Finding parts is fun…..until you gotta hit the “pay now” button! 🤣 I restored a 79 power wagon years ago and quickly found that the parts support for old dodges isn’t like Chevys and fords where you can buy almost anything you need out of a catalog. The NOS stuff was a challenge to find and expensive when you did find it, still a fun process! 👍
Have fun in the 80s. Still have my 69 dad's charger. I did that around a Kenworth. And guess who? The Lucky man that got the ticket. And I still have the charger today. Expensive ticket. and lots of fuel. God, the 426 eight fuel up. And yes, I love that movie. And yes, I love his truck. And what he's doing.
Was really awesome to meet you guys at the show and I appreciate you coming over to take a closer look at #ProjectSnowman and listen to my stories 😂
I'm an engineer who wants to be a trucker too. I did it and I loved it, but I left it and married and have kids in college. I'd LOVE to be driving again ... maybe when I retire :)
How cool is it that Hal Needham's group allowed the actual image to be used on the trailer?! I love that!

Epic!
