On their podcast his wife Anissa says she was put in charge of the accounting for Creator Clash 2…having a previous podcast episode where she went on and on about being bad at math.
people think iDubbz sucks because he's not an edge lord anymore. iDubbz sucks now because he's just... not anything. his new persona is so fake and has nothing interesting. other creators have changed their online personalities and been fine. Ian just doesn't do anything worth watching
that's what majority of people like him are once the jokes stop, no substance or real interest in anything.
I have grown up watching Pewdiepie. And he has changed quite a lot over the years. He have had many different phases. I mean once he was a bit of an edgelord and now he's a wholesome father. But it all happened naturally. And he never renounced the fanbase he cultivated.
This is where it's different from someone like idubbz. Idubbz changed relatively abruptly. It wasn't natural at all. And with it, he chose to essentially renounce his entire fanbase.

@@heathdionne7717 I think the difference there is that as you say, Pewdiepie wasn't playing a character, he was just himself - an edgy young dude who matured over time. iDubbz was playing a character, and when he got tired of playing it, he just dropped it, and his audience just didn't like the real him.

Indeed. He is pretty ignorant of what companies do when they perform their background checks on potential new employees. They can and will look at social media posts and see what it is that you are saying and doing. I don't use my real name on any of my social media accounts (you have to be pretty stupid to do so, in my opinion) but even then I don't talk about work or what I do in my life, since I feel it is no ones business.
Companies do look at that, and if they see that you freely talk about personal things to complete strangers, then it causes them to question whether you can be trusted with information.
Things are definitely way different now than they were like 20 or 30 years ago. Sure some employers might consider it a disqualifying factor, but I doubt most employers would look/care that deep into it.
Depends on the job, too: are we really gonna tell someone they can't bag groceries because they posted their butt on the internet 10 years ago?

In the 'Addressing the Froggy Fresh Drama' video, Ian tried to spin it that he clearly told Froggy Fresh not to work with Sam, but if you pause the video and read the DMs just after the 7-minute mark. You'll see that Ian's responses were vague when Froggy clearly ask a yes or no question about working with Sam.
One thing i always point out to his defenders.
Ian made like 2 or 3 LONG like full length documentary vids about things he actually wanted to. He didn't say any slurs in them. He really wasn't edgy, i feel like you could play either of the docs on tv and it'd be just a little fun documentary.

One thing that was failed to mention is his massive video view count falloff. His view counts, per video, went from multiple millions to just a couple of hundred thousand in such a relatively short time of 2 years. His recent video uploaded a month ago got only 360k. I think it was about 2 years ago when he announced he was deleting or had deleted all Content Cop videos from his channel.

Love idubbz coverage and have to say that was the smoothest shift to the ad break in a while. Was following your point deep into the ad before I realized we were talking cologne now.
He could have easily continued with his content without being edgy. The first two documentaries he's made were great a well-received. Even without content cop, he could have easily said that "Hey guys, don't feel like doing drama content anymore, will try to do different things instead" and with dropping the edgyness, he could have said "I don't feel like being edgy anymore, I want to act more mature from now on" and everything would have been fine. But not only did he attack fans that made him big in the first place, he legit forgot why his old content was good in the first place, he now thinks it was all because of being edgy and vulgar, but most a lot of his content didn't need that. My favourite ones were Kickstarter crap where he called out stupid products and scams, which was basically a really helpful PSA, this would work without problem without being edgy, there are plenty of ways to make fun of bad products or services. Other videos I liked were the inhinged collabs with Max, Chad and George just doing absolutely stupid things for the fun of it, plucking mushrooms in Mario outfits, stepping into mouse traps in Deadly Twister or eating pickles in sewers are perfectly entertaining by themselves, no edginess needed, they were just having fun and had fun along with them.
Which makes it even more confounding how he doesn't even know why he became successful since look at the airsoft fatty documentary he made, it was brilliant. Although the followup video from gamer from mars kind if showed he was also two faced, so it is something to take with a grain of salt
