Great review, and also interesting to see that you’ve echoed some of the same opinions as my mum did regarding powertrain; she test drove a pre-update one and she found it to be sluggish compared to her previous 2013 CX-5. She ended up getting an Omoda E5 instead, and if not for the powertrain woes, I think she would’ve picked the Arkana initially. The older Intens grade was nice with materials, loved the tech incl the portrait screen, and price point was decent especially as we were looking at an ex-demo. Space carrying 4 people is okay, tho 5 people would be a bit of a stretch I reckon. It could do a little better if they brought the e-tech Hybrid powertrain, unsure why Ateco (Renault Aus importer) hasn’t considered that.
Great review. And glad to hear that you've highlighted that this coupe design, doesn't have a rear wiper... As does every other coupe make up to $400k...I drive a $30k Haval with a rear wiper and it's a godsend driving on mucky days...
18:10 A few years back the VW cars in EU had a 50,000km service interval. I think it was Golf or Jetta. My Peugeot 308 SW Diesel 2.0L T9 has service interval 20,000km here in AU, but the computer in the car resets to 30,000km.
Interesting review. However,I've got a VW CC with the DSG and whilst occasionally (like 1in 20), the take off from stopping at a roundabout can be a bit hesitant, the majority of the time it has no lag at all. If I drop it into sports mode there is NEVER an issue with lag. Mind you I have the 3.6L V6 petrol so maybe that has someting to do with it.
Absolutely correct saying you have to learn how to drive the Renault instead of Just driving how you always would’ve done . This engine is Much better in the Renault captur but still has all the quirks stated
I remember back in 2019, Volkswagen and some other European manufacturers were calling for a tougher emission and fuel efficiency regulation. Now the Euro 6 and NVES has become true, where are the “stunning” European products?
Never trust a child trying to grow a beard/mustache.......hahaha or anybody with children. Duh....... but.... the car is pretty and a good choice for the Mrs.
30k service intervals, madness. It borders on cruelty.
My Forester is 12500km. I know all the service people on a first-name basis.
Yeah, wouldn’t recommend it. Every 10,000-15,000 would help it last far longer!
I've had one for over two years driven city and county and find it great to drive and live with. Hope to have it for many years .

Yep the V6 petrol was better than the smaller engines.
We managed to bring up our children with out auto unlock etc on our HQ Holden's.
And I bet you had to walk 12 miles in the snow in barefoot to do it, too.
@therightcar with a sheep under each arm to keep me warm😁

Too right.
I have seen a few around but Renault Nz no longer lists them for sale. A 2022 Arkana Zen is asking $21K and is the only one for sale.

Euro6 is still not mandatory in Australia.
Still in Europe.
That small screen is 8 years outdated. If you want a small suv get the mazda cx30.
Yes, coupe SUV's are a bit silly.
Great review of a very average car. Renault make some interesting stuff but this one slipped through the net.
Thanks!
Renault, no thanks. Resale value ?
Horrific
Sounds like a no, if it doesn't drive properly.
Yeah kinda!
This car will not sell

With all the new EV’s on the market, petrol cars are dead to me. Great review mate.
Thanks!
Yeah I dunno, $41k+ of mediocrity… or buy an awesome van. No contest, van wins hands down.
A VAN???? like what...😄
And Renault has some vans! You know what? I’ve got some van reviews coming … 😁
@ A van is a van is a van
@@Luke-PlanesTrainsDogsnCars oh yes so true, three vans is better than two vans and two vans is better than one van.
Mr the right car, I hope your not teasing about van reviews. I have already told my van about it and it’s pretty excited already.
Why your voice sounds like you are sick 🤧
Because I was at the time. And I am again now. I blame having a 3.5yo 🤣
Looks more like an overweight sedan.
I can see that.
This is truely horrible ahah
