- Presenting Space Patrol 2100 Episode 2 “Armageddon II: Electric Boogaloo”. Professor Zephyr at the Mars Space Observatory discovers a rouge asteroid approaching his planet’s orbit. He urgently requests the United Galactic Organization plot its course. The news is bad. In seven months, the asteroid will hit the Martian capitol with a force equal to 300 megatons of explosive. Professor Haggerty, UGO’s top scientist, believes the only way to stop the asteroid is to blow it up. Colonel Raeburn asks Captain Larry Dart and his crew, Husky and Slim, to volunteer for the dangerous mission. Their chance of survival is fifty/fifty. Undaunted, the space patrolmen accept the mission and blast off in Galasphere 347 towing a freighter filled with high explosives. Will our heroes be able to complete the job before the asteroid strikes Mars? The original Space Patrol is a British science-fiction television series written and produced by Roberta Leigh, featuring marionettes. It was produced in 1962 and the 39 episodes were broadcast from 1963 to 1968. Voices & sound effects are from the original TV broadcast. There are content alterations and additions. The original episode is entitled “The Wandering Asteriod”.

Very well revamped. I’m looking forward to seeing more episodes. I’m 66 y/o and remember Space Patrol from the first time around! The fact that many of the original episodes are on RUclips and appear to be popular enough to inspire yourselves to recreate this series with Computer Animation makes me very happy!

I don’t know why you’ve decided to remake this and Fireball XL5 but I’m glad you have. I only discovered the originals relatively recently and they recall my innocent youth, enjoying shows like Supercar.

Iam 71 and you have brought Space Patrol to a new level, a lot of work must have gone into it. Perhaps Husky is a bit weird green and sort of tattooed, but otherwise it's excellent. It's nice to see all the characters IN character and almost human. The original series was well ahead of its time, with many scientific topics. For a puppet series the character development was far better than a lot of today's films!

Another great job. I don't understand the title of the episode. Not sure what a 70's dance craze has to do with the end of all history but, whatever. I loved the homage to Fireball during Husky's street scene. I won't say any more about it so your other fans can discover it for themselves. A+ and thanks for all your efforts.

The Electric Boogaloo subtitle is a pop culture reference meaning "unwanted, unnecessary or silly sequel". When I first watched this on Amazon Prime two years ago, I thought 'My goodness this is the premise to Armageddon" except Mars is in danger. Roberta Leigh was way ahead of her time. Anyway, a sequel came to mind and so the silly title. PS I have never seen Breakin' or Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.

He's on the surface of the asteroid in deep space with no gloves. But it was that way in the original. I wonder why they didn't put gloves on the characters, otherwise the space suits were correct.

My guess is with the limited budget Roberta Leigh had fitted gloves for Dart, Husky & Slim would have been too expensive. Be sure to keep an eye out for Episode 3 due to be released sometime in September 2023.

I would love to do a reanimated Stingray (as I would also like to continue doing Fireball XL5) but unfortunately copyright claims make it fiscally improbable. ITV and Shout Factory allow me to download videos but not share any revenue the remakes generate on RUclips.

It's possible that the avatar used in that video is similar to the avatar you saw in the background of Binary Burger, especially if Starship Mojave is created with iClone Animation Software. I'm sure you also noticed that near the aliens were Boris & Griselda from SPY IN SPACE. Boris is eating a hamburger.
