- Presenting Fireball XL5 "Wings of Danger". The Subterrains of Planet 46 are hatching an evil plot. Eager to avenge the capture of their chief by the crew of the World Space Patrol vessel Fireball XL5, the Subterrains create a programmable robot bird and send it to Earth to seek out and kill Colonel Steve Zodiac. The relentless mechanical bird, armed with an array of deadly radium capsules, will stop at nothing until it completes its mission of vengeance. Back at Space City, can Dr. Venus and Professor Matic protect Steve from being hunted down by this robotic aerial predator? This is a color animated remake of the UK children’s show Fireball XL5, created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, which featured marionettes. Produced by AP Films and distributed by ITC Entertainment, it appeared on US television from 1963-1965 on NBC. Voices, sound effects and music are from the original TV broadcast. There are slight alterations for creative license.

Thanks so much for watching and the positive comment. Venus has come a long way since the first two episodes, where she was called Annabelle to crack whore. It's was my fault as I tried to make her resemble a marionette. Also poor lighting made her look haggish. Venus very much appreciates the compliment as do I.
Great stuff ! Love how the character modelling has evolved. Plus it looks like they've all been for a trip to the hairdressers !

The new hair I think works well because it looks and acts more natural (blowing in breeze, etc). I also think the beard on Matic makes him look more like a professor. Have a great summer!
Don’t forget Robert the Robot with his snappy new texture that makes him look 3D printed. I like it much better than the smooth clear plastic look.

Incredible! I’ve now enjoyed watching several of these and I think they are great fun. I used to watch the original TV series when I was about 6 or 7. I was such a fan that an aunt bought me the Fireball XL5 model that was launched with a large elastic catapult and it then came down on its parachute, well most of time. Keep up the great work.

I believe it was a playset that included a model of the XL5 with detachable Fireball Jr. It had a missile bay that fired spring loaded projectiles and there were small plastic models of the entire cast.

Hi Again, Yes I watched the Killer Leeks..episode from Space Patrol; I do recall this series also, but I was only 5 or 6 at the time. For the new Fireball XL5 creations, are these based on the original episodes, as the credits at the end are those for the original makers. Have any TV channels expressed any interest? It's a shame there are only about 10k views for some of them. Thanks for your reply.
@@SteveTrockroll Thanks again for watching. All the XL5 episodes are based on the original series with the original voice actors and music. In many episodes I add a little visual "Easter Egg" I create that many viewers like to hunt for while watching. Shout Factory and ITV_plc have copyright claims to eight of the Fireball videos. They allow the videos to be shown on RUclips but keep all revenue generated by ads and hits. The views come in fits and spurts. This past July "Spy in Space" received 50K hits for no rhyme or reason. I do not promote the videos other than asking viewers who like them to share with friends.
Yes, I did see the pictures of Bender from Futurama and the other robots in the 'Trial by Robots' episode. I have shown it to one of my friends, who also watched it with. I also watched a documentary on RUclips about the Jerry & Silvia Anderson productions, which was very interesting
Used to watch every morning before I went to kindergarten. Around 1961 or 1962 I think. Lol......brings back great memories. The upgrades are great.

It must be so tempting to change a little here and there, either to make your job easier to smooth out issues in the original script (distances and travel times) but I have not spotted any so far, you have been so faithful to and respectful of the original material.

Fantastic! Every new episode is an enhancement of your previous great work. Love the landscape of the planet and the improved main characters. The Storm Trooper incident was nicely done. @@HarborsidePressLLC Fireball XL5 is right up to date with your remakes, and the Stormtrooper was brilliant. It enhances the original voice acting in the best possible way. Other nice touch, Steve's Hovercar looks like a 1959 Cadillac.

I think I might remember the episode this was based on, I remember Steve being in a bed and something being shot at him which was on fire somehow. I was quite disturbed by this at the time!

Have been looking forward to the next episode and this one is excellent, the characters faces movements just keep improving with every episode you produce,
always plenty of action in each scene with amazing attention to detail, i watch it on an iPad and this video is slightly brighter and has a higher quality definition, it’s much appreciated that you release a full length episode an enjoyable 25 minutes and in colour compared to seeing the Black & white originals
Back in 1962, going to watch all episodes again and look forward to the next episode you release.

Do you plan to remake Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Thunderbids, and the other shows? Constructive critic here. Still need to sequence the launch, where all rocket engines ignite at the the bottom of the ramp. Muscles are much better now, as are the movement motions. You have captured the string effect nearly perfect.

Nice to see the upgrades, but I'm a little confused by the Robot.
He is more Humanoid than the original, beefed up for some reason.!
I would have kept him more like the original to be honest.

I have done 11 episodes so far, the first released in September 2017. My animation skills and the software have improved over the years (you can tell by the episodes). Nice!Especially the Color. But, the pacing and movement of the characters worked better in the 60s puppets.

Wonderful! This is the best work yet that was done in the series. I want to thank you for showing one of my favorite episodes, and I can't wait to see the next one coming up. Can I ask why Steve Zodiac's hairstyle has been changed? Love it the way it was before. Please change it back. Doesn't look right.

Why when doing a cartoon version of a much loved children's series from 1962 do thay have to change the hole format surly keep the very Essen's of this classic to acknowledge Gerry & Silvia Anderson vision of a great tv adventure . Fireball XL5 / Stingray / Thunderbirds / Captain Scarlet ect .
This is the first time I’ve seen this version. I watched this series every Saturday morning when I was 10 years old, and I like what you’ve done. I have a question though. How did you get permission from the people who bought the rights?
I’m a novelist, and several years ago I tried, without success, to get permission to write novels based on this series.

@@HarborsidePressLLC hi, thanks for the response. Are you saying that, if one does not profit from it, anyone can use it? I’m no lawyer, so make no claims to be knowledgeable in this.
Will - if I recall correctly, if you make no claim to the copyright, make no attempt to profit, and credit the original makers, the copyright holder can take action (usually cease and desist rather than a claim) but often let stuff go if it's obviously fan made (Even if very well made like these ones) and if it helps them sell the original series to a retro channel or DVD. It's a bit of a grey area, the producers of Star Trek were okay for a while with fan films but when some of them got to be as good as the series, or even better, they clamped down. Different companies react in different ways, and sometimes the same company will react differently with one show than another. Eg try doing anything big with UFO or Space:1999.
