Me too but the same episode was on Talking TV channel on Saturday, if you can get the channel I think that it’s the start of a series of 60’s shows and it’s easier to watch on a full screen than on a monitor or phone screen. I’m in England so I hope that all who are fans can watch it.
I'm so excited to find these online. My friends thought I was crazy or dreamed this show up lol. I kept saying I remembered this show as a kid. I LOVED it. So cool to see it again!
You have described my plight exactly. I loved this show as a child in rural WV. Once as a young adult I woke yelling loudly "FIREBALL XL5". Scared the girl I was with. Snippets of my early childhood are roaring back, the curved takeoff ramp, the rockets falling off after liftoff and others.
@@vibhadeshpande6925 and Vikki Colbert, people not around 60 years ago tend view things only from what they have been exposed to. One of the amazing things about these old shows is the intelligence that went into the production both in craftsmanship, as well as the writing and acting. Today, everything is a parody or derivative of "impressions" of what they have been exposed to without any depth or understanding. But most of all, there isn't much originality. Just a lot of inane and incessant dialogue with weak story material, if there is any.
Strange, it was so long ago, yet as soon as I saw this I was six years old again. The definition and sound are amazing. I too had a toy spaceship and I love the retro futuristic designs. Robert the robot is a classic! All done without computer technology. Corny but endearing, reminds me of simpler times.
I felt the same I had the rocket and flew it great when it got caught in a whirlwind . The series was such a calming influence after enduring difficulties of school .
Man does this take me,back to happier times a kid I was 5 years old when this show came out. The world would be a better place if times were like this again I can watch these and forget everything.
Original air date 28 October 1962. Uploaded by Shout! Factory April 5, 2021. Thank you, Shout! Factory. Good times, good times. I was 8 and thought the world was wonderful.
I never thought I was going to watch the show as a kid that a president of the United States would create a space force Donald John Trump and thank God he did look at the world we're living in nowadays
Man that's a dim memory brought to life again. Only now I can appreciate the sheer weirdness, the period cliches, and the early sixties space age aesthetic in the design. It's a real artifact of its times, and still fun too. Thanks.
Man, 30 seconds in I was sold, this is awesome, was born in '65 so I don't remember the series. The 60s had some great childrens programming. RUclips comes through again.
My eyes today can’t believe how much I loved this show back then! Fireball XL5 was the bomb! I don’t recall what time it came on but I bet I knew then LOL…what great memories
One of the greatest intros of music of all time. Stuck in my head for decades until RUclips came along and I found it again. Scary good show for its time back in the 60s
Watched this episode recently on Talking Pictures TV, when the end credits came up along with the theme tune I was overcome with emotion. Took me right back to my granddad’s parlour where he used to let me watch it all those years ago, I’m 63 now and it seemed like yesterday.

I am amazed, i joined in with the song at the end all the hairs stood up on my arms and i am 68.

I remember as a kid racing home to watch Fireball XL5. When I arrived my dad was watching a film on the other channel and I did not get to see it. I must have been really annoyed for that memory to be still with me about 6 decades later. 🙂 Great video - thanks.
I was only 5 when this came out. Loved it as a kid. Used to run around school with my friends playing Steve and Robbie. I can still sing the words to the closing credits. Loved Robbie's cockney accent.
I loved this show. I watched it on my black & white TV when I was growing up in Los Angeles. It brought tears to my eye's seeing it again 🥲. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. ❤
