Thank you for posting this video. I bought my Flex 10 last week and already plan to upgrade to SSD an dual channel wifi at the upcoming weekend... As this video is nearly a year old i got the model with dual 2.16 and 4Gb RAM... kicked windows off and put Ubuntu on, cause i got windows on my main machine Latitude XFR... Thanks again and keep it up!
Thanks for this. I’m going to upgrade the hhd with my spare ssd. I’ve found my Lenovo takes a while to load up and browsing can be a bit slow. Hopefully I will see a noticeable improvement.
i own this laptop, it plays games just fine , i run fallout new vegas on it , star wars battlefront 2 , and also mixcraft 7 , its a powerful cpu and gpu for a cheap machine, 4gb of ram helps it along as well, the last netbook i owned struggled to run morrowind this is a nice cheap device , and its battery life is pretty good , i would reccomend this to someone on a budget who wants a cheap laptop , playssome pretty cool games , does multimedia and is pretty fast , i dont need any more to honest .
I just purchased the Flex 10 and have to agree with you - extremely useful machine! I needed something lightweight to carry with me on client visits (I'm in outside sales), and always swing by a coffee shop to check email in between appointments. I was exited to see your review, and notes on upgrading to and SSD hard drive. While the machine is good - I found it laggy, but expected that in a machine of this type. Is it possible to upgrade the memory to 4gb while I'm upgrading the hard drive?
i accidentally ran into this video while looking for a solution for how to use Java on Microsoft 8 Lenovo flex 10, ended up watching it till the end and it's really informatively helpful, but got to agree with AtticSnacks, you do have that look in your eyes xD
Hi Steve, I appreciate this is on older video but I bought a flex 10 reasonably recently to use a travel computer only. I don't use it that often and only really use it for light MS Word and PowerPoint work and surfing. I am yet to do an SSD upgrade but am thinking about it. I was looking for your thoughts on upgrading to Windows 10 and whether this machine would cope? Also, would you recommend an SSD upgrade before trying W10? Cheers.
Hi, Chippy. I'm considering replace the HDD of my laptop (a Samsung Series 5 - 535U model, with AMD APU). What's the best choice: SSDNow V300 Drive, by Kingston or U110 SSD, by Sandisk? It's the most affodable SSDs available in Brazil. I'm also considering replace the battery. I have almost 2 years of usage of this laptop and the battery lost 30% of the full capacity. Should I replace the battery too? Thanks for any help and keep the good work.
Hi! I have an HP mini 110 that its 4 years old. I am looking for a replacement and after watching your 2 vids about the Flex 10 i think I am pretty much convinced that this is the rigth one. Before buying this one, I just want to ask you if you know any other 10" laptop that migth be worth considering? I use my netbook pc just for school work, code editing an a bit of slide-making. My only doubt here is the processor, not sure if I should trust Celeron CPU so much (HP mini has an Atom) Thanks in advance! *subscribes to this channel*
Hi mate, I have just upgraded mine with an EVO 850 500GB SSD. It has made quite a bit of differance, but I think it is SATA2 and not SATA3 asmy read speed is 284MB/s and write 272MB/s with the read / write IOPS around 20,000. What speeds do you see?
Steve, thanks for the video, helped me to disassemble the flex 10. However, I migrated my HDD to an Intel SSD535 240GB. It booted perfectly but quickly stopped with the message Windows has encountered problems and is restarting. When it tries to reboot itself it says no bootable device found. I tried another SSD and the result was identical. Tried Aenomi disk partition manager and Acronis to clone and both gave exactly the same result. Tried a local repair shop who said they had better means of cloning but they gave up after having the machine for a week; the reults were the same as mine. I and they also tried a clean re-install of windows but again the computer crashed during installation. What drive did you use and do you have any advice. I notice the SSD is 1.0 amps whereas the original HDD is 0.5 amps. But it obviously worked for you, what could be wrong?
Hi Steve. After watching your video, I decided to do the mod on my own Flex 10. The problem is that my laptop won't recognize my SSD. I thought maybe it was a problem with the cloned drive, so I just went to install a new copy of Windows 8.1. When setup begins, it says it needs a driver for the SATA controller, in order to see the drive. Do you have any idea which SATA controller is on this thing? I cannot find any info on what driver it is.
hi man. can i just ask if its possible to take the battery out. my lenovo has a charging problem, charges intermittently and i cant pinpoint if its a cable/charger fault or the battery's fault? i was thinking of removing the battery and try to run laptop on charge/cord only to see if the fault still appears. what do you think? thank you
Hi Steve I was wondering if you could help me I had to replace my hard as I dropped my lenovo but it is coming up on the the screen no bootable device please restart system I have taken out the hard drive and reconnect it abs still the same thing please help
Hi I recently bought levono flex 10 my daughter accidently pressed a button on my laptop and I don't know how to boot it to restart could you please give me some advice on how to boot it or an app so I could go on . Thank you.
good, or is it? it plasticky, no SD card slot, small battery and no upgradeability, bad screen (colours and resolution as well), and the performance doenst seem that good either (cant do video editing, or proper gaming either). so are you really gonna buy a laptop just for "cofee&news"?? ermm, dunno!
can you post a video about how can we kkep windows 8 licence after we mount the ssd? I want to do it but I need to know all the steps first! Thank you very much!
You can't add / change / upgrade Ram in this model. Bcz ram is fixed (soldered) onto the motherboard. And no other ram slot is provided. So basically you are stuck with your 2gb ram
hı ... ı trıed too much to enter bıos ı want to remove all the old wındows and make one dısk then part them agaın and reınstall new wındows otherword ı want to format from usb ... but no optıons !

You're like a retired James Bond who likes to review consumer electronics.
Is that good?
I'd say so. You just have that look in your eyes that says you have a license to kill.
Let me be honest. 10K followers, 14 million views and 1000 videos and this happens once a year....go figure. Thanks AtticSnacks though. ;-)

I picked up a Kingston 120gb ssd a few weeks ago on newegg for $60 :P I guess it is an older model, but it is my first one, so pretty damn fast to me!
Hello!
Prompt labeling / battery model for this netbook.

I bet most of the people who own this laptop are waiting for someone to upgrading the onboard RAM, today is 2020, I hope you can do it for us?
Does the laptop have sata 2 or 3? Also can the ram be upgraded, looks like its soldered to the mobo but thought I'd ask. Thanks.
