Just wanted to congratulate Ms Christy on her drone license!!! WAY TO GO!!!
WOW!
I remember when you first had Johnny X up and running. I have been away for a couple of months and come back to see Johnny X with auto steer, a new paint job and towing blades that a tractor twice it’s size should be towing. Bravo. You have really pushed that tractor to the limit!
Welcome back!
I only have a 4ft finish mower, but one of the first things I got for it was the nose roller. It certainly does help with scalping and helps protect the middle part of the deck.
Great video, Tim! Glad to see the government has allowed you to fly again.
Congratulations Christy on the new license. Hopefully you didn't have to drive far for that test. What a pain in the butt they make things.
Welcome to the world of Commercial Unmanned Aviation.
Wouldn't that be Hope you didn't have to fly that far. 🤠 sorry just a little snark for your day.
Nice set-up. Kind of your dream set-up for a large estate or even a golf course.
Many thanks Tim&Christie. Always nice to see what these little tractors are really capable of.
Tim I love all the hard work you put into your videos, I bought my 1025R because of your thorough demonstration. It was the best thing I have ever bought, I use it for all my projects. Watching Johnny X is amazing, great idea doing that project.
Well done guys. Johnny X is holding its own. Way to fly Christy!
Can’t wait too see what else is in Johnny X’s future!!!! Look forward to your releases each week!
Congratulations to Kristy for getting her license.
some beautiful equipment there! thank you for keeping up with all these videos!
Thank you Christy for the excellent video. Enjoyed the aerial view. And Thanks to Tim for the commentary.
Enjoy watching you play with all the toys. lol. Have a jinma 254. Hydraulic oil heats up. Where to put a extra tank, cooler? Nature of the compact tractors. Enjoy
We just did that over @makerbreakerfixer- - It's likely unnecessary on a mostly stock 1025R, for 98% of the normal use cases, but fun nonetheless! ruclips.net/video/KcxBegvusf8/видео.html
Good video showing all your toys. You mentioned clover; not sure why everyone wants to get rid of clover in their yard other than broadleaf control also kills the clover. Clover stays green and is good for the soil and grass as it fixes nitrogen, plus honey bees love clover.
Good morning , God bless you & thank you for sharing .
Tim… listening to you describe the effect of the oversized mower on Johnny X reminded me of a childhood neighbor. He raised and worked mules. (It was no coincidence that I grew up in Missouri!)
As you could imagine, he had a lot of horse/mule drawn implements. One thing that I learned was that there were different mules for different tools. For example, when pulling a sickle bar mower you needed speed and agility. When plowing or cultivating you needed strength and endurance.
He knew just which mules could do which jobs. Pairing the mules correctly was as much of an art form as was putting the correct one on the left (lead mule) or the right.
Keeping a team on track, the implement in proper ground/crop engagement and moving at the optimum speed were skills he had mastered.
I once rode a surrey rake for a little while. It looked really simple to see him do it. However, doing it on my own turned out to be a humbling experience. It seems that mules have a mind of their own. They also know when a rookie is holding the reigns. I went from a cocky 15 year old wannabe Mule Skinner to a frustrated farm boy in minutes!
Guidance, power, operating temperature, fuel, equipment maintenance… you can learn a lot from a Mule that is relevant today. Thanks for taking me along on your workout session with Johnny X!
Enjoy you working Johnny X and seeing how the auto steer worked in the mowing application. Your explanations were interesting and informative. Nice work! Congratulations to Christy on getting the drone license.. Great drone shots. Blessings.
Thanks Kenton!
Watching you mow is mesmerizing.
I enjoyed the video.
I have to say I am impressed by the accuracy of the autosteer. Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Neat system. I like watching videos like this, testing equipment. Fun to watch. And like you say. Not every body needs these set ups.
Hydraulic oil seems hot. But I’m no expert. I going by my experience with my 1975 Case garden tractor. Its hydraulic drive. 8 GPM factory pump on it. It’s hydraulic oil temperature gets to around 130F while cutting grass.
Keep the videos coming.
anything below 200 is fine
Just an idea for your cooling issue. Try incorporating a fluid cooler with a fan or even just a heat sync in between your power beyond port and your summit hydraulics kit. Even a small cooler would help with the fluid temps. As always great video.
This machine has an oil cooler.
Love the back in the air!! Congratulations
With a large open front yard like that I think the GPS is pretty awesome! God Bless you brother!
Congrats Christie! I keep putting off my own certification, but glad to see you back in the air!
Fascinating video, Tim! Well done, Christy! Thanks!
Another good video, like the mower and system... have a great week
That was amazing! Great work guys!!!
Love the FJD Autosteer, only thing I would want is something like that on a ZT mower that I could tell it to "Go and cut the 4 acre front lawn" unattended.
I really like that mower Tim. I see your sweet corn is growing. I took your advice n purchased sweet corn this year from for the grower and your kind. That stuff is grown amazing. I hope it taste as good as it looks. 3 ear per stalk Tim!!!! It's amazing. Thanks 4 all you do my friend. Very very pleased with the set sweet corn so far. See what it taste like but it grows very very well
Wow! I hope it is sweet!
I noticed @13:50 when you talked about the auto steer whipping you around. What I’ve noticed with the bigger planter tractor I’m used to with a mechanical auto steer from John Deere sorta like yours but for a 7330… if you get 3 pass headland [Or End Rows.. whatever you call them] (enough to get the implement turned around and straighten up off auto steer) you have enough time to get your tractor onto the guidance line to prevent the whip.. lol many time learning planting. I had the crooked rows going into the headlands and was the talk of the farmers at the breakfast table plenty of times!
Ha! Yea, we can’t have you being the laughingstock of the coffee shop crew!
Amazing drone work by your wife!
Great little improvement 👍 great drone footage.
Nice work on the drone license ! That auto steer is great for making perfect passes. Great video keep up the good work !
Happy to hear you got your license to fly the drone again. I like the over head shots of Tim doing his thing.
Another well done video Tim & Christy!! Congratulations on the drone license! I think it was silly that yall need one...but I'm just 1 vote. 💁♂️😁
Keep up the Great Work & God Bless!!
Great video Tim and Christy. Congrats. Christy on your drone lic. that really adds to your videos.👍👍
Thank you. I enjoy the challenge of flying the drone. -Christy
Congratulations!Iam so glad that we will get some drone footage again!:)
I can’t use a setup like this but sure is cool to watch it in action. Thanks for the video
I used to work at a golf course in my younger days we had a finishing or just a little bit bigger than that they only used it a couple times most of the time we used reel mowers I loved mowing with them they were wide they had one that was fixed and had to mainly be disassembled in order to transport it and then they had to wait to use hydraulics to lift the reels I would love to see if the 1025 hour could even pull one we used to use a Jacobson gas powered tractor but it had Dual tires on the back
If there is a more modified 1025R out there, I want to see it! The “1038X” is quite a machine. With it being able to handle so much more power, I think it really demonstrates how over-engineered the base 1025R is.
the only thing that johnny x is missing is a mauser cab and an aftermarket ac
This little "supped up rig" is an extreme experiment. It Way outside of the designed parameters. It will be VERY lucky to make 200 hours in its present conditions ( even though it's a Master-piece). One day ( soon) Tim will have a 1038x "GRENADE show", with "watch-gears" & fluid laying every where.
You may be right! We are prepared for that, meaning, we know that we might break it to pieces. If so, we’ll fix it, and go from there!
@@donaldstrishock3923 if I were a betting man, I would bet against you on this. I think it will run fine for a couple of hundred hours, as long as Tim doesn’t constantly push it to the limit.
@@TractorTimewithTim I have my 1025R cab with an AC on it and best money I ever spent.
Very one needs this .dont how lived is long without it .get yours day .lol
Tim, I find my cabbed 3046R lugs somewhat going up hill even with the stock belly mower. It does far better if the LoadMatch feature is enabled, then it doesn't let the RPMs drop when the hydro loads the engine going up hill. Pretty cool demo of the auto steer system. I've toyed with the idea of having something like that on a mower where I could record a path and play it back later for the mower to do the lawn by itself. I have way too many attachments I want to buy first though. I want a grapple and a backhoe for my machine.
I have a 4 foot Woods Brush Bull rotary cutter. I absolutely love it. If you're going to use it on a 1025R, you will need front weights or leave the loader on. It ha twice the cutting capacity of the Frontier or the regular Woods rotary cutter.
Sounds like you need an external oil cooler. Love this X series!
Kudos Christy, the drone shots take your productions next level :)
Thanks!! -Christy
Brian at “how farms work” does auto steer on the contour strips on his farm. They have plots for the whole farm. Plotting your yard would be an interesting project.
Hello Tim from West Michigan. Love your channel! I have 6 acres and my beloved 2001 JD 425 with a 48" deck takes me forever to mow it all. Someday I'll upgrade to a 2000 series or possibly 3R, but for now I am having fun imagining my JD 425 pulling that Woods 12ft batwing to solve my problem. Yes, I know, I'll need a bigger tractor with a 35 hp PTO minimum. Enjoyed this one Tim for sure. God bless.
Thanks Carl! Shut your eyes and pretend! Just like when you were a kid :-)
Just don't mow it all...
What do you need 6 acres of lawn for?
Johnny X is handling the batwing mower with ease. Congrats Christie getting the drone licence!
Congratulations Christie on getting the drone license maybe a video on how that and your thought on it. I’m sure there’s a lot to learn. Tim , what would be best tractor for the 12 foot mower 4066R with cab. That’s what I’m guessing.
3046r, 4052r, 4066r all good options.
Looks fun to run. Now you can break down the cost of mowing the yard to the square foot. Time is money. Or cheese burger per square foot. Love the drone shots.
Mower did a nice job on the uneven terrain. The GPS might be nice on a much bigger equipment mowing highway berms…
This is a fun to learn video... which is a good thing..... Hey! where is your Kubota.... and its HP..... thanks again... have a great weekend.....
Y'all are Awesome.!!! No one out there does it like you guys.!!! N0 ONE.!!! ®️
Thank you sir!
💥 We’re not far off from this automated technology taking over golf courses and parks. Your videos will be influential to this market.
*Keep on tractoring!* 😁👍
My thoughts exactly. It'd be nice to mow the perimeter, set some boundaries, then get off and let it do its thing while you sip a cool beverage.... maybe a remote kill switch at hand too.
Someone going their drone license. Nice view
Looks cool. I’m glad you guys get this stuff from the mfg and not have to pay for all of it. It good education for people. Thanks keep up the good work. I don’t think that could make that would mow thru my 10 acres of woods would they?
Great video!
The first ttwt video I ever watched was y’all using the new land plane on your dads farm. My dad bought me one in April of 2020, and I’m sure it’s paid for itself 2 or 3 times since.
Thanks for continuing to watch!
Congrats Pilot Christie! Hope your new rank comes with a pay raise (or at least some extra cheeseburgers). That hydrallic latch instead of a pull rope seems like overkill of the highest order. Nicely designed mower though, does a good job.
Great to see the drone shots again, thanks & congratulations Christy on getting your drone license! It would be nice to hear from you on how you went about it and your thoughts on the whole process. Thanks for putting in the extra time too, it's very appreciated! Also wondering if a turbo kit is in the works?
Yes, turbo kit in the works. Check out the Area Diesel RUclips channel for an update.
I wonder if hooking into an auxiliary hydraulic port to a fan supported auxiliary hydraulic radiator would be of benifit.."shalom"...great video
Shalom!
We just did that over at @makerbreakerfixer - I think it'll be a good addition to JohnyX, but for a stock 1025R for 98% of normal use case, it's a bit of overkill. ruclips.net/video/KcxBegvusf8/видео.html
That’s a nice looking tractor Tim
It's 07/31/2022 @08:05 and this video already approaching 3000 views and it was posted TODAY! WOW!
Great video!
Way to go Christy(sp)!!!
Nice video tim and kristie and great machine
How about a larger hyd cooler or if that's not an option how about a 2nd cooler with an electric fan, love the Johnny x keep em coming!!
on the woods web page it says 25-60 hp needed for this mower. This is a good way to get the mowing done faster without buying a super expensive additional machine when you already have a little bit bigger tractor than Tim is using for this experiment.
Love seeing the different attachments you try on Johnny X. I keep wanting ti install the summit hydraulic kit but I really have no need. Just want it. I must be messed up.
Ha! We’ll keep searching for just the right rear hydraulic attachment! I have one in mind!
@@TractorTimewithTim cool I am looking forward to seeing what it is. Time to dig out another tree stump.
i am just ready for auto steer on the john deere quick track mowers, that would be amazing
I think you should rename Johnny X to Johnny T (turbo). Great video's!
Good information. are the two antennae possibly causing a point of reference issue that caused the wobble? For me, I'm thinking smaller scale as a robot mower but nice to know the accuracy is impressive.
Clover is incredibly good for bees. I'd actually suggest overseeding the whole property with clover. You don't have to mow as often, it is more drought tolerant and it is much more beneficial for the environment than grass. Love your videos Tim!
It’s also great for deer (red clover). But it dies and goes to seed late may/early June in Texas.
That'd a really nice woods mower still can't believe the 1025r pulled it
Remember the turbo!
liked before i watched a title like that just makes me smile
Congratulations to Kristie for getter her drone license. Good to see the drone shots again. Tim do you use wheel spaces on any of your tractors?
2R….required for the Backhoe with the tires I have.
Thanks @@TractorTimewithTim
Xcellent ! 🤘
I'd hazard a guess that your increased coolant temperature and the increased power being transferred through the geartrain for the PTO has as much to do with the high hydraulic temp as anything. I'd imagine working it like this, even without the high pressure/flow hydraulic pump, would cause high temperature.
The Auto steer would be very useful for spraying your yard, probably better than using that foam marker.
I am wondering if Johnny X would handle this mower better if a charge air cooler was installed. Since denser and thus more air would enter the engine.
Another great video Tim! I saw you must be using the new isotunes with the boom mic? How do you like it? Can you do a review video on it compared to your other isotunes products? I prefer the over the ear muffs as I can’t stand things stuck in my ear for long periods of time. Thanks! Kevin from Where North Begins.
No we dont need autosteer for any of our small tractors...but as a small tractor owners we had 0 idea how any autosteer system works and functions before you made the video. so that's why you should do these more often. As we are watching you...we are the kinda person that never stops learning about new things.
we use Amsoil 2 cycle at 100 / 1. and 15w50 oil at a 100 hour interval works better and lasts longer 😁
Need to use the backhoe and level out the pond banks
Would love to see a sprayer using that gps system and autosteer. Nice 👍
Woods, makes great equipment!!
Very enjoyable video, thank you 😊
We have a woods tiller, 72 inch, rotor mower, 72 inch. Grapler
Any thoughts to a higher capacity cooling coil.
Sounds like a hydro cooler is the next upgrade.
Do you still have the rate controller system on the Gator? For the fun of it, combine the rate controller system and the auto steer system. Would it be practical or cheap? NO. But it would be fun to see.
Baling hay seems like a great use for auto steer on a small tractor. Hook up a pull-behind bale lifter and a hay wagon, throw it in low, and let it walk its path while you stack. Shouldn't be too dangerous to get out of the operator's seat, right?
Loved the video Tim. This one had two of my favorite new TTWT toys in it the Johny X and the new batwing all in the same episode.
I really didn't think 190 was all that hot. I guess since I don't have a gauge I can't really compare. I know most modern auto transmissions run in the 190 range quite often pretty normal for auto trans application even 220 is not necessarily hot on pickup trans when pulling a load these days. What is the safe range on Hydraulic temps for these small tractors?
I noticed from the drone footage assuming the audio was in sync with the video, the engine really was not slugging back when you would hit that thick tall grass over by the pond near the edge of your property. Impressive for sure for the 1025R.
I am thinking the larger tires, and a little longer wheelbase of my 2025R if it were turbo charged like Johny X that it would handle it a little better. There were a couple times where Johny X would hit some rough ground and it looked like the tail might have been wagging the dog a bit. Meaning the mower was pushing the tractor around a bit. Did it feel like that was happing a bit from your perspective in the seat?
Thanks!
No, didn’t feel the ‘tail wagging the dog’ at all. Perhaps because tongue weight is so small. Not sure.
Am I correct that the pto is hydrostatic? That is my guess for the high hydraulic oil temperature. Nice video. Congratulations on the drone flying approval.
No, the PTO is mechanical. It does have a hydraulic clutch.
Tim so what would be the ideal tractor, size, HP, best ride and cab, yes/no, to work with the system of mower and autosteer you have set up. The woods batwing mower and the auto steer only need the addition of a striping kit to the mower to give you that Estate look to the finished product Up UP and away, Christy. Your back flying high again.
3046r, 4052r, or 4066r …with cab of course :-)
@@TractorTimewithTim 🌽Nice choices
I wonder how soon one of the tractor companies, or third part, starts marketing an "Extreme Version" or Radical Series line of tractors based off of Johnny X. I think if you owned a mowing companyand serviced a corporation with a large front yard, the system would be great for keeping the lines straight (my pet peeve) or for making offsets, zigzags, or designs and patterns in large yards. I have been known for to mow crop circles in my yard and pasture just to give the neighbors something to talk about ant tne coffee shop.
I bet I’m far from alone when I wonder if and when your 1025 Xtreme package is commercially available? As most 1025 owners realize, I have wished for “MORE POWER”!!! Thus far it appears the turbo with greater hydraulic capacity appears to be an ideal solution! Do u feel that that a commercial kit of some similar proportion a possibility in the near future (say 2-5 years)?
God’s Blessing’s
Curly from Oconomowoc
The hydraulic portion is available now. hydrosplus.com use code ttwt for five percent discount.
The only thing NOT available is the turbo.
Hi Tim is worth looking in to a bigger oil cooler for Johnny x ?
There are a lot of comments that appear to demonstrate a poor understanding of drone rules. You could do us a service by explaining your experience and what you have learned.
since out goofing i’ll bet the fuel burn went up some
Tim, this is a setup many of us have dreamt over… glad you can make it a reality. Also, that canopy seems to have a ton of flex, is it loose? Or just flimsy?
Good question. I may need to see if I can tighten it.
If I had to make an educated guess, I’d assume that some of the gps equipment mounted in the canopy is making it flop with the extra weight. Doubtful it’s really meant to be a mounting point for anything
The algorithm got me again!!! How am I a month late to this!!! Sheesh!
