    I'm glad you showed this video with a different grapple on the MSL and 1025R. I recently borrowed a brand new brush crusher 4215 and it didn't work very good at all for me. I found that grabbing birch logs which I myself could pickup, at times couldn't get the loader more than a few inches off the ground unless I royally finessed the loader to roll forward and up. It was literally mechanically stopping on the way up. One of the very few Cons of owning an MSL on a tractor. I also noticed you have a more solid lower jaw with this design so you can be more aggressive with it vs the Brush Crusher model since doing that would potentially bend and break expensive quick attach connection and pins as seen with other users of the BC4200 series. Even with just grabbing brush with the BC4215, I could just barely get it over the top of my 5x10 dump trailer and then had to hop off tractor and manually pull out the brush as it snagged lots. I think this grapple you have is a sure winner combo for the MSL and small tractor. Got my hopes back up for getting a grapple. I'm just glad I didn't buy the bc4215 which I was on the verge of doing. Buddy has a regular NSL and works flawless for his jobs. But looks like I'll need a 3rd function up front eventually for this one.

      Yes, I am not impressed with the BC4215. Not a good compromise in my opinion.

    Tim. I'm curious how well the front drive line connection is holding up on that unit. In your how to lube video on the 1025r you show some play in the line at the transfer case. I am experiencing this on my 1025r. Sorry If this isn't place for this question but you really put that tractor to use and am curious about wear. I appreciate all that you do!

Ended up borrowing our old bobcat with a tooth bucket from its new owner. We still had to dig and fight with those bushes to get them out. I wonder if the grapple may have been better.

    To close the sides try using a ratchet strap. One person can move a heavy load easily. You might have to use the saw to get it latched. You could probably still drive with it even if you cannot get it latched. Maybe talk with your DOT inspector for another trailer time.

    • @erik_dk842
      @erik_dk842 Год назад

      I have a much smaller trailer, but I can carry a lot at a time by compacting the scrub with ratchet straps and then climb on top and jump up and down a few times. Rinse and repeat. When I go to the dump to unload, I manually tip the bed of the trailer down, grap hold op a larger branch in the bottom, and pull of the whole pile at once.

    Dumping taller loads like this is about the only thing I don't like about this dump trailer. I haul a lot of brush in mine and I think that would be a concern for me. They just need to make it a THREE way door that can open like a traditional barn door as well.

    I would think a diverter valve on the bucket curl function for the thumb would be quite nice, but it looks like what that system does works just fine, especially if you find it works for you!
    The only real downside of not cutting up those bushes some before grappling them into the trailer is they take up quite a bit more room, but it certainly is faster and probably will burn better since it will allow more air to get in on the burn pile. Looked like a fun job, have a good one!!
