HangOut WithMe; Yessssss, I was going to say the same thing to her in my mind..... I'm going to watch him more and learn from him....We all can learn from each other.....
I just discovered your channel and I freaking Love you. I am Jamaican and my house back home has a lot of plants but my step dad has the green thumb so I would buy plants and he takes care of them. 14 years ago I moved to the states and never bought plants because I was so busy. I started growing a couple plants (in love with Orchids) years ago and whenever my depression rolls in my plants would die. 6 moths ago I started reconnecting with plants. I realize that they really help with my depression because I refused therapy or meds. Now I have about 80 plants in my apartment. They make me extremely happy. Sorry I ramble when I get excited. So in short I love how excited u get when u talk about plants. Thank you for helping us with our babies.
First few minutes I thought, “Am I gonna learn something from this, I’ve done so much research on Birds of Paradise and mine looks pretty good.” But of course I learn something, I always learn some good tips from you. Thank you very much and keep up the awesome work
This is an awesome video! I am a new plant mom who decided to start with a small white bird of paradise and this video is everything I needed to know. Believe it or not, I have been looking for this type of video for a few hours and so happy I found one like it.
This has made me feel way more confident as a new plant mom. I bought 2 birds of paradise and a Pothos and instantly became overwhelmed. Thank you for such an informative video 😊
I bought my BOP last year, she bloomed this year. She is a Golden. I find your video 100 percent effective. And am now more confident to care for her.Absolutely gorgeous plant!!
Thank you! It felt like you were making a house call for my bird of paradise. Now I will take amazing care of her and she will thrive! I may even give her a name. 😊
Hi I’m a year late to the game. But oh my goodness u helped a million. Betty is still young but she is happy. Learning from u how to care fir her and all the other O2 givers I have. A million thank us. Peace be with u and ur family
the browning wasn't necessarily under watering, it was the plant not being able to take up water because it was so root bound. These plants can actually handle very arid conditions.
Could be true but She did say it was dry as a Sarah’s dessert though. It’s obvious that she didn’t care for it so due to the lack of knowledge. Why I watch these videos everyday. I’m obsessed with my plants
This is the best having Hilton on here helping people take care of their plants. I get to learn more about plants I haven't added to my collection yet.
That was SO helpful for me, thank you so much! My Bird of Paradise has really been struggling and causing tension in my household because of its condition. This video answered ALL of my questions and I can't wait to go and tend and care for my Bird of Paradise!! Thank you so much!
I really love this show, I'm already looking forward to more episodes! I definitely could use a house call for my poor plants. If ever you plan to visit apartment homes in Paris please let me know! Waha
I was reading your comment and I was okay till you said Paris and I passed out. I'm so jealous. Water and mist your plants with rainwater or get a humidifier. Water them when they're an inch dry from the top.
I literally just jumped up went and helped my bird of paradise unfurled!! I was afraid to do it. Now watching how they do it it just makes me feel more confident! The 🍃 is so pretty once I unfurl it!
I liked when he said the only water schedule you should have is water when it's dry. I have a bird of paradise and I check it every day and water it when it's about an inch dry from the top. Use rainwater to water and mist it.
Such beautiful people. Love both of their energies, and her completely taking in all of his knowledge. What a beautiful video 😍. REALLY gorgeous plant as well
I have two (white) birds of paradise, both over 6ft tall. I got them several weeks ago from our local nursery, my husband and I spent about a month or so trying to find some at the right size ( and price ) definitely love these beauties :)
I’m taking notes. I just bought one and her name is Jackee Harry. Why ? I don’t know. She sits in my sunroom and I am patiently waiting for her to grow as tall as Rihanna. By the way, do you know anything about Yucca plants? I have a bunch and afraid that I am not giving enough love. I have 4 total, The Golden Girls , Vanity 6 (which includes a money tree) and Flo. They are low maintenance and Dope!
I just bought a house with a huge bird of paradise in front of my bay window and she needs a lot of work. I can’t wait for warmer weather to get in there and work on her.
How do you differentiate underwatering from the use of hard water as far as brown tips on leaves are concerned ? You are too cute and I love your love of plants.
An easy way to keep bugs away is mix some dish soap with water in a spray bottle and spray them it's mild and the bugs don't like the taste of it. I don't know if it necessarily kills them but it helps.
That plant is beautiful. I wonder why she didn't give off flowers. She is getting light so at last 1 flower should've appeared I would think. Good video. My 1st time seeing this guy. I'll watch more.
Please tell us the story about where it came from. Mine came from a big box store, had tattered leaves, several different bugs, had a leaf that was torn and need to be unfurled Etc. Now it has a gigantic brand new leaf.
Earlier this season I came across a white Bird of Paradise and I've been wanting one soooo bad ever since seeing that plant. It was $36 and that was out of my price range -- but I'll have one someday! I'm thinking a dwarf because I don't have as much room as Susan here did lol. Great video!
When opening leaves on the BOP, use soap and water rather than your finger nail and the bind will just dissolve. The leaf will open perfectly (on it’s own time - don’t force it!) rather than be all ripped up
My plant sent me this video !
I love him. More of this dude. Such a sweet, pleasant knowledge man. 💗🌱

I found that wrapping a wet, warm paper towel around an unrolled leaf , it will open on its own.
Crap. Now I want a bird of paradise.
🌱💚💸

Tell us where you keep your plant I heard they don't like to bloom indoors. I'm so jealous you have a colored one mine's white.
I kept it out beside my pool in the summer on my deck
It's May 2023 and this is exactly what I needed to find! I'm about to save my indoor bird of paradise because of this video. thanks Hilton!!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
His 'diagnosis' seemed doubtful, at best.
Could be true but She did say it was dry as a Sarah’s dessert though. It’s obvious that she didn’t care for it so due to the lack of knowledge. Why I watch these videos everyday. I’m obsessed with my plants

Love these videos!!! Super helpful. Would love to see something about maintaining large palms and keeping the pests away. Also, propagating fittonias.
An easy way to keep bugs away is mix some dish soap with water in a spray bottle and spray them it's mild and the bugs don't like the taste of it. I don't know if it necessarily kills them but it helps.

Wow that thing is massive!! She's beautiful!! I think the only real problem was that she outgrew her pot and needed a bigger one
I just bought a very very veryyy neglected Bird of Paradice. It is my first B.o.P. so this one was very helpful.
