- Using my VHS of the Nighttime Concert and a direct soundboard audio source, I have created a matrix that is the best quality I can create.
NOTE: There are video drops due to this VHS not being well taken care of before I received it.

What i always loved about Elton in his live performances was he would always look out at the audience while playing...never even had to look at the piano keys...

@@nixon9346 hes 38 here he would have been for 30 years by this point its muscle memory for sure ive been playing 4 years and tons of stuff is muscle memory given im not as good as Elton when he goes crazy on piano but im workin on it lol

Wow his vocals are awesome on this. I dare say I prefer his vocal delivery on this live performance to the studio version. He takes this song to another level here. Brilliant.

It's a different vibe, y'know? The original was the next wave of folk. Super laid back arrangement, young elton vocals. This was him smashing it up at wembley with a 6 piece band.
Its not only you. Eltons live performances vocally and the way he plays are a million times better than studio recordings. I play piano and ive learned Eltons live versions as appose to the basic studio version its so much more expressive and full of life. He is a genius and one of a kind of sure. We are lucky to grown up to this music rather than garbage today
That second chorus hits all the feelz so hard when he sings “you can tell EVERYBODY….”

This is the first Elton concert I ever saw on Video. I was only 3 years old at the time. It changed my whole life. I fell in love with music and especially Elton's music. He's amazing and this concert is timeless. He will always be my favourite.

this is my most favorite Televised EJ concert ever,I first discovered it in our local video rental store in the summer of '87,I must have watched it 10 times in 3 days,Always loved the power of his voice in the live shows,he was such a legandary singer/performer even then 29 years ago,in his own back yard at the old Wembly Arena,damn look at all those people,I think it was close to 70,000,wish I had been there.

I was at this concert it started at 12 noon and finished at 10pm, other acts were kool and the gang, wang chung, sector 27, big country, nik kershaw, was a great sunny day and the best concert i have ever been at.
So much fucking soul in this performance! Just love it!
This is my favorite Elton concert of all time. His voice was brilliant and the set list is just about perfect. He was never this good again. Having the original three back was just the icing on the cake.
The band comprised of Dee Murray, Davey Johnstone and Nigel Olsson was the outft that he made his most iconic records with.
I agree with you...this is his optimal moment...I compared it with his voice from 2013 concert, sooo different... I think it's difficult to keep our voice as beautiful as we were young?
btw, I watched many covers of this song, because I like it so much. Elton John's version is the greatest, IMHO, no one ever could interpretate this song as good as him(of course, this is his song..)

I was at this concert. Elton was in top form. Shame he cannot sing live anymore

for me i like his voice most in the early 2000's
He gave some epic concerts in top form in this years...and completly clean without drugs like in the 1980's. Its a wonder that he's still alive after all that.
i look forward to see him live this year here in germany ;)

I believe his voice sounds better now than it did in the 70s.
