I love how they do the unusual descending bassline flourish thing, the 5/4 part of Blue Eyes, at the very end. They do a great transition to Guess too. Although both songs are in 3/4 or 6/8 (maybe 12/8?) time and it works with that swing feel.
@@phrogenjoyer1719 That's awesome, thank you! Difficult song to play. I think the beginner sheet I had had it in 6/8, but I saw another sheet a few weeks ago that was 12/8.
Blue eyes is definitely 12/8, because each bar can be thought of as 4 sets of triplets. If you listen to Blue Eyes from Sydney 1986, he switches to a straight 4/4 part way through (I guess you could call it 16/8 or 16/16?), with 4 sets of quadruplets each bar instead
I haven't heard a better version either coked up or drunk then if he was.he was still better then than 90 odd percent of so called singers and artists today .that is the testament to natural ability and talent regardless
Lyrics :) Blue eyes Baby's got blue eyes Like a deep, blue sea On a blue, blue day Blue eyes Baby's got blue eyes When the mornin' comes I'll be far away And I say
Blue eyes, holdin' back the tears Holdin' back the pain Baby's got blue eyes And she's alone again
Blue eyes Baby's got blue eyes Like a clear, blue sky Watchin' over me Blue eyes Ooh, I love blue eyes When I'm by her side Where I long to be I will see
Blue eyes, laughin' in the sun Laughin' in the rain Baby's got blue eyes And I am home, and I am home again
Blue eyes, laughin' in the sun Laughin' in the rain Baby's got blue eyes And I am home again
Don't wish it away Don't look at it like it's forever Between you and me, I could honestly say That things can only get better
And while I'm away Dust out the demons inside And it won't be long before you and me run To the place in our hearts where we hide
And I guess that's why they call it the blues Time on my hands could be time spent with you Laughin' like children, livin' like lovers Rollin' like thunder under the covers And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Just stare into space Picture my face in your hands Live for each second without hesitation And never forget I'm your man
Wait on me, girl Cry in the night if it helps But more than ever, I simply love you More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why they call it the blues Time on my hands could be time spent with you Laughin' like children, livin' like lovers Rollin' like thunder under the covers And I guess that's why they call it the blues

Everything is always perfect at Wembley 🤘🏻🥂

It's 12/8 in blue eyes and Blues same Ik bc I have music sheet for both of this songs

the greatest pop performer ever
Perfection 👌👌👌👍👍👍
An inspired arrangement, so perfect live
I have a feeling elton was coked up doing this concert but I've never heard a better version of blue eyes than this
I don't think he did a single show from 1984 completely sober maybe except in Monte Carlo.
I haven't heard a better version either coked up or drunk then if he was.he was still better then than 90 odd percent of so called singers and artists today .that is the testament to natural ability and talent regardless
I hope Elton does Blue Eyes/I Guess Why They Call It The Blues on his farewell tour.
He won't. He stopped that a long time ago, he may do Blue Eyes, and he will def do The Blues, but I dont think it's together

Lyrics :)
Blue eyes
Baby's got blue eyes
Like a deep, blue sea
On a blue, blue day
Blue eyes
Baby's got blue eyes
When the mornin' comes
I'll be far away
And I say
Blue eyes, holdin' back the tears
Holdin' back the pain
Baby's got blue eyes
And she's alone again
Blue eyes
Baby's got blue eyes
Like a clear, blue sky
Watchin' over me
Blue eyes
Ooh, I love blue eyes
When I'm by her side
Where I long to be
I will see
Blue eyes, laughin' in the sun
Laughin' in the rain
Baby's got blue eyes
And I am home, and I am home again
Blue eyes, laughin' in the sun
Laughin' in the rain
Baby's got blue eyes
And I am home again
Don't wish it away
Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me, I could honestly say
That things can only get better
And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside

Unique song, I love the 5/4 part in the middle and the end.
