No one entertains like Elton. His style & music has stood the test of time! It's like a breath of fresh air when I hear or see him sing. His music has truly been the soundtrack of my LCD! Ron Vaughn
would love to have been there Robert, remember buying the 12" version of this 2 years later and falling over to it when trying to dance drunk on my 18th birthday.Have been hooked on is music since!
Dam that man could rock!! Saw him twice when I was a teenager. This is music, played by talented musicians who could actually sing, write and perform there own creations. What a concept.
This song reminds me of my Dad who passed away last year 😢 he always said I'm still standing. Unfortunately dad had cancer for years he lost the battle in August
I love this man and this song is my life's testimony!!!!!!!!! He is absolutely a priceless commodity!! GOD Bless him and his music. I'm still standing.
the energy in this song is something I Don't think modern audiences have ever experienced. It's so powerful to watch. Im getting older now but I have a huge goal to be able to perform for local crowds and simply...make people feel good and get them moving.
I've always loved Elton John anyway, but this paticular performance is my absolute favorite! What power and energy-just goes right through me-I love it.My husband, daughter and I were at a friends house the other night and he put this dvd in.Our friend has a kick ass stereo system and it felt like we were right there at the concert lol. Just mind blowing.....And now ever since I got the song going in my head all day everyday lol.So now I'll watch it here until I get my own copy! Thanx for this
When i hear the quote: "I'm still standing after all this time picking up the pieces of my life WITHOUT YOU on my mind" I'm getting stronger, than ever! True quote, true...
I’m only 15 years old but my dad has been introducing the genre of music to me ever since I was young. I gotta say, they really don’t make music like this anymore. Music today doesn’t have a meaning behind it. It’s all “Fuck bitches get money.” Back then we had Elton John singing a song about his road out of drug/alcohol abuse. We had Freddie Mercury touring up until he passed away. (Today we have singers canceling shows because of a cold.) And I just REALLY wish I was around during this time so I could witness this singers in their prime, live. I’m grateful for RUclips because I can get a glimpse of what it was like.
That's the best version. Raw, f...off-like, spit it out, who cares, mad. Rock'n'Roll pure. Nothing like that anymore. It's an attack! The band is the best ever. Dee is not of this world. Only The Who's John Entwistle could play the bass like this. Nigel is in sync with Elton's drumming left hand, Davey is tossing out some of the best riffs ever. It's forward, open, where would that energy settle? It's still here, as if it happened yesterday. No wonder that they had to take down Wembley Stadium at one point. Still standing, that one, forever!
They tried to write him off in the 80's when the meaningless pop synth came along and then he destroyed them all with yet another masterpiece. ..one of the all time greats...a prolific songwriter who will live in our hearts forever...the people know he is one of a kind..from a time when people wrote and played hit after hit decade after decade...a true legend!! Who needs religion when you have stuff like this to believe in!
AaronP14, I did, no lie, I did, right after the movie "Sing", it is a great song, touches a moment when his dad came back just to see him and realize he has talent and can do something with it.
Singer/Songwriter/Pianoman, he's working his but off up there to put on a GREAT show! Playing and singing that fast while trying to hit those high notes; you can see the sweat on the back of his neck. Sir Elton at his best.
One of my all time favorite songs. Would love to see him perform this on Dancing with the Stars. Actually I'd love to see him perform at any time. True artist
As others have said the late great Dee Murray was probably one of the finest bassists ever to pick up an instrument. This must have been one of the last times he played with Elton in the UK as he was sacked from the band (for the second time!) four months later. He had already undergone surgery for cancer by this time and despite being in remission for a while the cancer returned and he died at the age of just 45 in 1992. (As a footnote, Murray and drummer Nigel Olsson were brothers-in-law by marriage for a while as they married twin sisters!)
+michael jagger If you dig deep enough the reason why they were sacked is out there, but there's no doubt that Elton's resurgence in the early 80s had a lot to do with reuniting with Bernie Taupin and getting the classic band back together.
if the stories are to be believed, Elton decided to part with Nigel in 1984 over a number of issues, and Dee was collateral damage as they came as a unit
Bill Avonmouth .Elton might have wanted a new sound as well. Nigel and Dee did come back in the 80's to do backing vocals on the Reg Strikes Back album. If Dee was still alive now he would still be in Elton's band. I don't think the Elton would get rid of Nigel now. The balance is just right.
Soo true on so many levels! ... luv this song sooo much! xxxxxxxx will never forget that dance! Josh and Dayna! was fanastic! never forget xxxxxxxxxxxxx
this is the theme song of my life, with my most favorite performer singer/artist ever, singing it in one of my most favorite concerts ever.....I dedicate this to my soon to be ex-wife
There is certain songs that kind of fall on my memory this is one of them just when I am ready to give up they play this song is kind of a sign for me not to give up not on this life, that yes I have quite a few bad moments but maybe because of those moments I have become better in the long run, and like this song says I AM STILL STANDING!
I was loving this song even before SING. When I heard it in the movie, I wanted to get up and dance to it... but sadly, there was no room for that. But, man! I'm glad they played it!
Sir Elton John just wanted you to know I had every album you ever made kindly remember B .Talpin Davy J. Ray C. and Nigle O. I had every poster and pin up on wall flower wall and a well when you put a new single out I was frist in line. 💘 always
I'm well aware of Mr. Taupin's contribution to the Elton legacy. Just keep in mind that Elton was the one who put those lyrics to music, sang them on stage and entertained several generations of fans for years in concert halls, stadiums, parks, arenas and who knows what else.

This performance is ridiculously sick. What an amazing musician
After seeing "Rocket Man", I fell in LOVE with Elton all over again!!!!!!!!
Omg same
Well I never wasn’t in love with him
Don’t forget the drummer,Nigel Olsen is a beast on the drums.
Whole band IS so wholesome
After of Roger Taylor
His band was a freight train plowing over everything in its way...
Awesome power...

Big respect for Elton John - He is one of the biggest Music Legends, and also very good human being. I'm Still Standing - brilliant song.
