I'd just like to say there may be something to this, and that's not only coming from me, but some MLB players have said where hitting is concerned when you're hitting really good you do not want to take any time off, especially 5 days, because it can mess your rhythm up, also if you look at the two years this new playoff system has been in effect both the Braves and the Dodgers got kicked out in the first round, and the Dodgers had 110 wins last year, I would say if it happens once in a while I could see your point, but two really good teams, two years in a row, to me there seems to be a pattern here, and if it continues I think the MLB is going to have to address it, I mean what if the MLB made a new rule where if a team won 120 games they would automatically win a trip to the World Series, the other teams would naturally be upset, today though we have more than one third of Major League baseball in the playoffs, and one of those teams only won 84 games, 2 games over 500, why can't the MLB at least make a rule that you have to at least win 90 games to get to the playoffs?
This new playoff system is only two years old so far, and I’m aware the Astros got in, but they were no where near the best record in baseball this year, I’m just getting very tired of mediocrity being celebrated in all sports and not just baseball, and I would love to see the two best teams in each sport face each other in their respective championships, I think there needs to be a line drawn where a team cannot enter the playoffs of any sport unless they win at least a certain amount of games, clearly the Diamondbacks winning only 84 games this year do not deserve a spot in the playoffs, and I’m not a Dodger fan, but as a baseball fan I’m kind of sad that the MLB is not going to have the teams with the best records facing each other once again, instead we’re just celebrating mediocrity
Record season records doesn’t mean much in the post season. 3 of the 4 teams left are wild card teams. Just get to the dance, as the saying goes.
4, one just choked later
Because it’s fate for the Phillies

@@620brown that’s just how baseball is. if the best team won all the time the A’s would’ve gone 0-162 this year
