Omg this was such a great vid. I just had to go to a different tech (and got BIAB) as my usual Japanese gel salon tech was booked out. The new place ATTACKED my nails and cuticles with full force. I want to start doing my own nails to save $$ and avoid damaging them from careless service. This was really well explained, thank you !
I thought the folded part of the nail removal foils was to prevent the aluminium from cutting your skin. Also I think some nail techs use efiles carelessly around the cuticle area. It takes about six months to grow out damage around the cuticle area, and I don't wanna do that to anyone.
Hiiii! Thank you so much for the video! Japanese potted gels are so so expensive, how long do yours last? They're almost twice as expensive as premium korean bottled polishes. Do you find them worth it and different enough?
Japanese Gel is so nice and thin and doesn't really require any buffing which is where the damage will come from. If anything it might protect the nail better as it grows longer. It is also free of many of the harmful chemicals in most gels. Might be worth the try.
There are a lot of “sand free” Japanese gel options which don’t require you to file off the shine. Most Japanese gel brands also don’t require primers or dehydrators which often make nails weak and brittle.

Hey girl, and possibly about the folded part but I've honestly never been cut by any at all. Yes files are intense and not for everyone.

For my nail health and easier removal yes to me they are worth but a little goes a long way so it lasts me a long time
They are totally worth it imo they are like glass nothing compares 😍
I have long natural nails and I'd love to try this but I'm afraid of the damage left behind
