I bought my first HK 91 in the mid 70's for less than $ 600.00 and over time bought virtually every accessory for it This included the claw scope mount , bipod, a rubber padded stock extension, both leather and canvas slings etc. Over time I relocated from the midwest to Florida and stumbled into a pawn shop where I found a fantastic deal on an A3 gun in excellent condition, several magazines, another HK scope mount, a .22 conversion kit that had never been used and a few other things all for $ 1000.00. I bought the gun, kept the accessories and ended up buying an HK 94 in 9mm from my Class 3 dealer who ended up working with S&H arms to have this HK 94 legally converted to an MP5 in full auto and added a suppressor. I owned that gun for 10 years and because I thought that I was going to relocate to a non Class 3 state, I ended up selling the gun for several times what I paid for it. I still own the first HK 91 and the accessories that I kept along the way.
Huge HK and PTR fan checking in (and subscribed). It will knock down anything in the western hemisphere. Yeah, the claw mounts are expensive and a pain. When it comes down to it, in an shtf situation, this would be the one rifle I'd grab as I ran out of the house. In an ideal situation, I take them all, but if I had to make difficult choices, I'd take this rifle with me. Also, you are being modest: wide hand guards and bipods are unobtainium these days, yet you have both. Congratulations.
I got a pic rail claw mount, made by UTG, for like 80, it sits on their very tight, no movement whatsoever and works great! Pol rag on UTG but , I've used UTG AK Rails for years And now this on m my g3 clone as well, they make Good stuff! Well, their optic mounts anyways.very cool man , thanks for sharing ! Beautiful rifle!
The c308 does not have the paddle mag release, but you can install one. (Has to be welded in.) The PTR91 however does have the paddle mag release. The C308 will also have used guts whereas the PTR will be all new. (I had to replace all the guts in my c308.) Also be aware that the c308 is a cetme receiver and bolt, thus not compatible with the g3/91 for some parts. If I could do it all over again I would likely still go with the c308 as I would have still needed to get the spuhr stock, handguard, trigger pack, extended charging handle, and enhanced recoil buffer anyway. So it would have ended up costing a lot more. I bought my 308 chest rig from BDStactical, but it can get up in price pretty quickly depending on how you customize it.
Love my HK 91 date code 1982, the only pain in the ass thing about it is the Bolt head..taking it apart, but its not something totally needed..not after a few thousand rounds I heard.
Get some gloves on and muscle it. No need for a rubber mallet or prying with a screw driver you just have to figure out the click in at 30 degrees, counter-rotate 60 degrees...if it snaps in locked, turn it back and yank....you won't damage it just using arm strength. One great video on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/z-HRXFhh-w8/видео.html&ab_channel=PeopleFromYourSchool but maybe there are more videos now. I bought my 1981-date after its original owner put
@@PacificAirwave144 Yea i know how to do it now..at the time it was difficult, now i found an indent on the bolt head, i know to push the lever up and snap it in place twist where it needs to faced and your good. Its not as bad as it used to be but like i said its not needed only until a few thousand rounds but the roller delayed blowback does get pretty dirty.
So this is what I would do install a paddle mag release so its rock n lock like an AK47 then get a claw mount low rail so you can add any optic you wish about $100. After that if it was me get the magpul extended safety that is a must anyway good luck! Oh yeah just take the bipod off just press down on the metal clip underneath the handguard and slide it off to the side.
My brother owned one for many years. The amount of hate you can deliver down range is insane. I couldnt imagine the hell it would be to have that shooting at you backed by a couple ar15's. Sold it bought a SCAR 17. Way less recoil, lighter, better optic mount, not such a B to clean. For the $
Please don't slap your HK's. That's the same dumb shit people do with revolvers spinning the barrel and flicking it back into the frame. If you want to up your videos get a Cardioid Condenser Microphone, 48V Phantom power supply and a 4K webcam.

It'll send all sorts of hate downrange
Battle Rifle gang 💪

A lot of miss information
HK91 could be one of the arguably best battle tested rifle ever. I saw some Ukraine guys carrying some the other day.
That's super sick
I'd go with the PTR over the C308, just so you know it's compatible with HK parts.
Do they make PTRs with top rails? That's kind of why I'm drawn to the C308
@@thepoorsareintoguns Sure do, most of them in fact. They also have the paddle mag release.
@@thepoorsareintoguns. The PTR model 101 GIR.
The original G3 has another mag release.
The new PTR's have two mag releases the button and the paddle.

I agree I think a scar is a better modern pick. Still pretty awesome!
Haha love it
