    For anyone who needs to see this. I'm 35 years old and have been smoking weed almost everyday for close to 20 years. I can honestly say that getting sober, finding God, finding a good, supportive woman and getting my ish together has been one of the most traumatic, difficult and beautiful things I have ever done. We have one shot at life and we owe it to ourselves to be the best version we can possibly be! You will not quit because you watched a video and feel temporary guilt for your habit... you must want to quit more than anything. You must be prepared to battle the insomnia, the appetite suppression, potential anxiety and everything else while your body goes through the necessary changes and heals itself. But it's worth it! If you really want it, you can achieve it! Good luck my brothers and sisters 🙏❤💯

    Seriously, thank you. I'm 33 years old, workout 4-5x a week, 12% body fat with muscles, eat mostly organic/high quality foods, take nootropics/supplements, etc. But, even doing all those things while being a chronic weed smoker for 5 years, I've definitely noticed negative things like change in body temperature (hot or cold), dry hands, irritability, etc. I haven't really noticed a testosterone impact, but you've finally convinced me I need to lay down the joints. It's just been difficult when you're an introvert/loner who doesn't like booze and wants to escape this weird world we're now living in. I guess I just need to realize I can't have a moderate relationship with weed :(

      Why don’t you get a vaporizer instead? You can get a portable one or a plug in vaporizer. Using a vaporizer has helped pull me away from smoking. I used to always be smoking my bong until I realized that smoking weed is horrible for hormonal health. Now I use my vaporizer at a very low temp (330F) take a few light hits and I’m done.

      thank you for a comment, cannabis when used properly can help with a lot of health conditions. Similarly if you consume cannabis excessively negative effects become more common than the positives. chronic cannabis users can notice withdrawal symptoms when cannabis use is stopped abruptly. reduce your dose gradually and get tested for thyroid problems with a simple blood test such as TSH, and testosterone levels in addition to basic blood work. highly recommend that you see your doctor and get a comprehensive physical and lab work done. wishing you all the best on your journey from Las Vegas.

      what you are describing is typical of any drug addiction. when you smoke cannabis you have a spike in dopamine which is the pleasure hormone. This makes you feel alive and happy. because your brain has depleted most reserves of dopamine from chronic cannabis use, nothing else will give you the same pleasure as you get with cannnabis. Recovery from such addiction takes time and patience and the brain can be rewired to enjoy other pleasures. Takes time and patience and my advice is to start reducing your intake of cannabis.

    • @bigbay1159
      @bigbay1159 3 года назад +1

      Congrats, you just described some of the signs for an addiction. If you need the weed to not feel those things, you've put yourself in a rough spot. Weed isn't bad in moderation but in excess, it's not a good thing either. Weed shouldn't be why you feel good, it can be a simple aid as a pick me up from time to time but if you need it to feel normal. You may want to consider getting sober for a bit to get back to actual normal.

    Can you explain the effects of cannabis withdrawal and how it negatively impacts sleep

    • @HealingwithHEALOR
      @HealingwithHEALOR  4 года назад +8

      Hi Jay, Thanks for the question.
      A lot is unknown about cannabis and sleep issues; what we do know is that cannabis users have a hard time reaching the N3 stage of sleep. N3 is the deepest stage of sleep and is vital to body repair. The growth hormone is secreted primarily during N3, so cannabis users tend to have low growth hormone levels, which results in easy fatiguability, suppressed immune system, reduced performance, and weight gain.
      Sleep issues are prevalent after cannabis withdrawal and on average, may take 4-6 weeks to reset the sleep cycle. This is probably from the change in several neurotransmitters required for sleep signaling. Some of my patients responded to GABA injection to reset the sleep clock; however, to the best of my knowledge, no data exists supporting its use.

      Hormone Replacement therapy comes with its own side effects and is not for everyone. for example if you are planning to have children in the future you cannot be on testosterone therapy as this will cause reduction in sperm count. Best would be to discuss with your doctor. Clomid is an alternative however there are other ways to boost Testosterone production such as with supplement, nutrition etc. only your doctor can decide the best option for you after evaluating your health, hormone levels, nutritional status, medications history.

    Weird thing is….i have elevated LH naturally with my PCOS (not insulin related- unknown). When I used to occasionally (1x per month, 3G max) consume cannabis my period was completely regular. I could tell where in my cycle I was.
    When I stopped for 10 months, I missed 9 periods. 3 years later I stopped for 2 years & missed 16 periods before going on hormonal birth control to manage PCOS symptoms. But I know my PCOS will return once I come off birth control.

    So I've been consuming one weed cracker a night with just the tiniest bit of weed on it for months. It significantly improved my sleep and anxiety. My skin was amazing, hair full.. I felt amazing. I decided to quit 2 1/2 weeks ago and have never felt so terrible. I can't sleep, my skin looks terrible, hair looks awful, fat distribution is drastically changed, it's crazy. I can't tell if I should go back to having a small weed cracker a night or push through. I hate to think I'm dependent on something but I literally felt my healthiest when doing that. I'm so confused now. I don't have any health conditions. Never taken medication. I'm pursuing a degree in nutrition science. I love striving to be my healthiest, eat organic, meditate, exercise, yoga, strength training, outdoors daily.. all the things. Could it be perhaps that I'm just naturally low in estrogen and slightly higher in testosterone? I've had hormonal tests done and all comes back normal. • @HealingwithHEALOR
      @HealingwithHEALOR  4 года назад +1

      Hi Andres, Thanks for your comment. Most of the hair loss in men is linked to elevated DHT (dihydro testosterone) levels in the scalp. DHT shortens hair follicles and slows hair growth. Since DHT is a products of Testosterone pathway, theoretically cannabis lowering of Testosterone may result in less DHT production and may prevent hair loss. I was able to find some studies done in Amsterdam , where THC deposits were found in hair follicles and was thought to slow hair growth. I wish I had a better answer for you, however good data is not available just yet. If you are experiencing hair loss, my advice would be to see your doctor for evaluation. Hair loss can be a sign of thyroid problems, nutritional deficiencies and many other medical problems

      Randy P thanks for your question. If you are relatively young and otherwise healthy, The testosterone levels return to normal in 3-6 months. This may take longer if over the age of 40 and other underlying health issues. I would not recommend Testosterone therapy without giving your testis and adrenal a chance, a few supplements such as boron, ashwagantha and zinc will help boost natural T levels.
      Marijuana like other addictions will definitely damage the dopamine pleasure pathways. Our brain has remarkable ability to rewire itself. I will suggest reducing or stopping all activities that deplete dopamine levels such as porn, other drugs, alcohol and smoking.
      Meditation helps repair damage to the limbic system. Recognizing a problem is the first step towards the solution. All the best to you and you will recover your health in no time.

      Hi Rafer, Thanks for your comment. Its never late to start taking care of your health. You should get your testostreone and thyroid levels checked. You are only 39 and if you don't consume nicotine your levels will start improving in a few days. Your major source of Testosterone, DHEA etc at this age will be your adrenal glands. Do what you can to help your glands recover. Good diet and nutrition are key to recovery. You should start adrenal support vitamins such as in link below in addition to taking B complex group of vitamins. Avoid stimulants such as coffee or energy drinks as they further deplete our glands.

    • @HealingwithHEALOR
      @HealingwithHEALOR  2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. Smoking cigarettes causes chronic low levels of oxygen in the blood, which results in increased levels of hemoglobin as a compensatory mechanism. When you will start testosterone therapy, it stimulates production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, this causes elevated hemoglobin which is referred to as secondary polycythemia. If you continue to smoke cigarettes and also start testosterone therapy, your risk of high hemoglobin is much higher. This can lead to complications such as risk for clots in the lungs and a stroke. Combination of smoking and testosterone therapy for transition is a really bad one, I highly encourage you to stop smoking cigarettes .
      cannabis can result in suppressed testosterone levels by suppressing body's natural production of testosterone. Since you are born as a biological female your body is not making much testosterone anyway. I do not suspect cannabis would cause any issues for you. However, excessive use of cannabis is associated with many other health problems. Please keep your cannabis use to no more than 1 or 2 times a week.
      I hope this was helpful.

Everyone is affected by marijuana, a lot of it depends on the frequency and strain used. Chronic users will develop resistance to the effect of cannabis and will need higher and higher doses to achieve high. I have nothing against cannabis when used occasionally. However, using it excessively is just a addiction like everything else.

If you are noticing a decline in sex drive or difficulty to build muscle mass then it would be a good idea to get a testosterone level checked and a thyroid hormone panel checked. we recommend annual blood work to check for liver kidney function along with the hormone testing. can men take CBD(without thc) oil and hemp seed oil for inflammation. Do they reduce testosterone levels?

    • @HealingwithHEALOR
      @HealingwithHEALOR  3 года назад +1

      Hi jackie, thank you so much for your comment. Both THC and CBD are known to reduce testosterone levels by inhibiting a enzyme call 17 alpha hydroxylase in the testes. Testosterone is metabolized and broken down in the liver, there is also some data that suggests that CBD may decrease the breakdown of testosterone in the liver and may increase duration and half life of testosterone in the blood. That being said, if you have chronic inflammation your testosterone levels will be decreased because of the excessive inflammation. In this case if you are able to reduce your inflammation in your joints and rest of your body by using CBD , this might prove to be beneficial and may have a positive effect on testosterone levels. A lot ofcourse depends on any underlying health issues, amount of cannabis consumed, duration of cannabis exposure, any other associated health issues that could be suppressing testosterone levels such as obstructive sleep apnea, poor nutritional status, obesity and many other factors. I always recommend adding certain supplements such as boron, zinc or B6 vitamins as they have been shown to raise testosterone levels by either increasing the output from adrenal glands or by increasing free testosterone levels.

      Sugar also increases levels of the pleasure neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. @@sniperpickz thank you for your comment. Testicular atrophy is common complication of testosterone replacement therapy and can be treated with hCG and clomiphene citrate. If this is a concern for you, best would be to get a sperm count tested and start treatment if the sperm counts are low.

    I’m definitely having a harder time getting and keeping erections ... I wonder if it has anything to do with smoking weed everyday mixed with tobacco

      Hi Thanks for your comment. Its likely more from Nicotine than the cannabis. Smoking tobacco has been linked with reduced sex drive, reduced quality and quantity of erections. Best would be to stop using both and see how you feel in a couple of weeks

      Thanks for your comment. I am not micheal phelps doctor but I hope he is only using it intremittently. I am not opposed to cannabis and we recommend to our clients with chronic nausea, sleep issues and many other ailments. The benefit of cannabis are best seen in individuals who use it sparingly and do not abuse the drug.

      When you’re the greatest swimmer to ever live you can get away with smoking a little weed. Doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t be a better swimmer if he didn’t do it. He’s just a naturally great swimmer, super athletic and tall, and trained and dieted with a lot of discipline.
