- A worship song heavily influenced by Paul Desmond's "Take Five" made famous by Dave Brubeck.

It is unusual for a worship song to be in the time signature 5/4 when we are so used to 4/4 and 3/4. Perhaps this is a reminder that God does not use conventional ways to display goodness to us. God introduces extra beats and works in ways that we are not expecting. Come then all you nations, sing of your Lord's goodness! Видеоклипы
The sax player lifted a few bars from Paul Desmond’s melody on “Take Five.” That’s very cool!
I actually laughed out loud when I heard that. I kept thinking about how I remembered it sounding a lot like take 5 so I looked for the song on RUclips and found thins
Love the jazz version very nice got me dancing praising our Lord and savior
I always hear Take 5 when we sing this at Mass. Love how it was blended together!
Unique 5/4 time, you just don't see it. Want this played again and again at my wake, loud and passionate.
Absolutely uplifting!!!
I have sung this in my church choir several times, but never with the sax interludes. It makes all the difference!
A hymn I have sung many times. Really like this version. Lovely voices in the Dave Brubeck tradition!
pretty good,oh man i like this, this is what our GOD deserves even much more, guys keep it up
Great rendition of this song. Wonderful Lead singer and complementary harmony. Well blended use of instruments, colorful sax, and drums to keep up the beat. Not overpowering, appropriate for liturgical music in a modern era. THANKS
Brubeck converted to Catholicism later in life, and wrote a jazz Mass setting.
Mr. (Joe) Negri (the guy who owned the music store on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood) is/was a Catholic liturgist, and also wrote a jazz Mass.
I did not know this! Too cool!
Anybody know where I can find sheet music for Brubecks jazz Mass setting?
Got to perform the jazz Mass with Darius Brubeck (Dave's son) a number of years ago. Was pretty awesome.
Anyone know why Brubeck.became a Catholic Surely he did not call Him. Gard like this lot do..
Fantastic!! What a great performance of a favorite song of mine!!
Lovely rendition! Love the Jazz vibe to it.
Great rendition and so nicely done!
God bless all of you in your continuing musical liturgy.
Reminds me of when a lot of these songs from my grade school days, before they started being changed. A lot of that 60s-70s influence.
My favorite rendition of this song thus far. Even though it's a gospel take on "Take Five", I enjoyed it. Wish I could stop by this church for a visit. More videos for those of us across the pond please!
I use to Sing in AZ with a Baptist jazz club pianist as a group of Catholic singers on Sunday, we should have sang this song this way , I love it but , I appreciate jazz
Just wonderful.
Thank you.
Love this!!
Praised God
May the Lord keep you in the faith
Dig it!
Wonderful job, guys. I used to hear this song in church and later noticed its similarity to "Take Five" -- I wonder if the writers have ever acknowledged the influence. Brilliant blending of the two pieces.
D. Desmond . Oh ya, I’m sure the writer knew it from the start. By the way, I noticed your last name-any relation to Paul Desmond-he was the fantastic alto player on Brubeck’s “Take Five”-worth a listen.
It's literally the same song
Bro you did well, your choir is the second best I've seen on RUclips for this song 🥰🥰🥰
I love this!
Awesome hymn 🙏
This sounds exactly like "Take Five"
God bless you!
Loved this! Thanks for posting!
wow how great is this
nice way to play the song love it!
Wow. Just, wow!
WONDERFUL! =)
GREAT Work.
Love the enthusiastic rendition. Instruments are on point. Harmony is very good. Soloist has great rhythm, but is pitchy on the lower notes, not really
reaching low enough on them.
i was doing a music quiz for music 110 and I was thinking "oh theres probably not jazz with songs about god, so that answer is probably wrong.""
Good!
The sung tune is different from Take Five; the chord progression is a little different I think; and a 5/4 beat is available to anyone who wants it. But the sax part has to be a copyright violation, unless permission was received -- right?
Nice
Man. I would KILL (well not literally) to hear this version during mass!
Gus Jay We are singing it this Sunday in my Parish! ☺
I know right back in AZ I sang in a church choir with a Baptist pianist jazz player and it never occurred to bring this song to his attention in this way , missed chance story of my life
Just caught up with this - well done guys. Hope copyright didn't snare you!
Great rendition of this song and it's in a good key for the saxophone. We want to play this at our church. Do you know where I can find sheet music in Eb?
Hope you find it it’s got moving my feet and lifting my hands in worship
Sing of the Lord's goodness
Father of all wisdom
Come to Him and bless His name
Mercy He has shown us
His love is forever
Faithful to the end of days
Come then, all you nations
Sing of the Lord's goodness
Melodies of praise and thanks to God
Ring out the Lord's glory
Praise him with your music
Worship Him and bless His name
Power He has wielded
Honour is His garment
Risen from the snares of death
His word He has spoken
One bread He has broken
New life He now gives to all
Come then, all you nations
Sing of the Lord's goodness
Melodies of praise and thanks to God
Ring out the Lord's glory
Praise Him with your music
Worship him and bless His name

Whats the point of proving you know this garbage?
Oh, just the fact that it triggers all the scum bags
5/4 5/4 5/4 5/4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EZ Church Fundraiser ? Please put up on iTunes... there is only one other version available and it's not nearly as nice... TY!
even better than Wellspring (Oxford) ! ;-)
This is Brubeck's "Take Five".
Sounds a lot like Take Five by Paul Desmond.
The chords for this would be amazing please.
Luis najerA . Available from OCP- Oregon Catholic Press.
@@chaplainmattsanders4884 In my OCP hymnal it's #484.
A mystery Dave Brubeck became a Catholic
The guy's voice is just plain sick. What's with his tone? Goodness! All of my goose bumps are working, thank you. Thank you so much for sharing this. Awesome!!!!!!!
This version made me appreciate the choir version more as far as vocals go.
I agree jazz is as sick.as endless so called gospel.in sanctuaries Have you heard how these people think.to.sing traditional.hymns? Sick.as well
I like this but while singing a harmony along with it in the chorus, that sharp note that the female vocalist sings in the middle of the chorus is really irritating and just clashes, so I had to stop listening to it.
Ciaran O'Callaghan. I thought the same thing-ouch on that note.
Sing of the Lords Goodness while the world collapses
Talk.about meaningless cop.out.
Total bloody shambles.
You can.say that again Since when should we ape constantly.the music out there?
I'm surprised that Dave Brubeck hasn't yet sued Earnest Sands for this blatant ripoff of Take Five.
Annie s Song.
And Cee Cee Winan ruining Up.Where We Belong..
They jazz up.The Last Post before now
Nothing is sacred
Meaningless Song in Wimpish Voices
I like this awful noise and nonsense even less knowing its composer abused and killed himself fearing detection. Sing of the Lords Goodness eh?
Jazz up Jesus ...this is a sick and terrible idea I dont believe it Its religious mockery and monotonously boring too
I really cant stand this or the wimps singing it.
