Therefore, if a Human Being is born with certain inalienable rights, no government can take them away. They are inherent. Deterrents work more by consistency than by severity. If he's disputive in the court, there's contempt for that. I don't think giving the maximum for the underlying offense would be appropriate; he isn't accused of hurting anyone or damaging any property.
