@@josedaniel4725 : Since most of the prison jumpsuits I've seen have been orange, and those there might be different (as some most certainly are), I was speaking generically, since I have no personal knowledge of wherever it was he was being sent, never having been to that part of Texas.

They took him there right from court. He was sitting in a holding cell with guys that were going home and getting on a bus for a decade of decadence
I guarantee he had no problem making it to barbecues and the movies and friends houses, but seeing his probation officer was just too hard lol
And they can do it over zoom/online half the time too. Literally the easiest part and they still can’t be bothered because they don’t think they will actually have real consequences.

He was in total shock! He got some bad advice from his so-called friends. But the jail must have some good dope because he was tweeking in the court room. She dropped a 8 year bid on his head without blinking, he was in such shock he couldn't conceive of the freedom he lost.

Im in my 50s and from what I have observed is that the majority of these grandmothers didnt raise their own children so the cycle continues. If you will see how the Mother treats their children when they are young you can see how they end up raising the offspring if their offspring

@@ThatWrapperDudeProbably due to lack of a support system and whatever reason to follow that doesn't motivate them to take it serious. A lot of times it comes down to how you were raised for one. I wasn't for example raised up in the streets or I'm a family where going to prison was acceptable. Therefore I do not judge because no one journey is perfect including mine. However I am thankful that expectations and upbringing gave me a different introspection. At the same time I know of ppl who came from good families but made bad decisions that held great consequences
They gotta test the system to see how far they can push the envelope. Unfortunately some, this subject, burn that envelope and have no recourse, so the judge has no choice! Buh buyee…. 😂😂

His attitude when the young lady was testifying showed me everything I need to see. He had his head cocked back in a confrontational, dismissive, manner, and showed zero remorse.

As soon as I saw that smug look while the injured girl was making her statement, I gave up on this guy. She seemed like a sweet girl & was ready to forgive him and he couldn't even bring himself to apologize to her. This guys never going to change.
Yes, 100%. She seemed very kind but he gave off such a smug attitude. His comments to his probation officer, bragging about how he would be let off, also spoke to his character.

All he managed to do on probation is make another baby which he cannot support. Hurrah for Judge Boyd. She is teaching these adult children that actions do actually have consequences.
This is because when it comes to sex, people tend to think of immediate gratification instead of future consequences.

Actually she’s sending someone to state prison for little bullshit, where he will become hardened and probably recommit another crime when he gets out, effectively destroying his life and making the lives of his family and children exponentially more difficult. But hey you feel good about it on RUclips that counts for something I guess.

The real tragedy in this is obviously he was brought up by “parent(s)” who never held him responsible for his Fkups. They probably threatened him with punishment but never followed through, so this kid grew up believing that “nothing will happen”. When the parent(s) couldn’t deal with what they created anymore, off he went to grandma’s.

Not condoning it at all, but he's a dumb kid who didn't fully grasp the seriousness of his probation reporting etc. It's not just him, a buddy was like that. He was up on serious counterfeiting charges when I met him and he was an angel. Soon as it came up and HE got probation, he turned into a complete a hole. One of the conditions was x hours of community service and the guy in charge of what he was supposed to work at, would sign his paper for $100 so he wouldn't have to actually work. He met me for lunch all cocky and proud that he skated.
He had a $70K a year warehouse manager job, he blew that and got canned. Not sure if he ended up in prison or not.....

I've noticed many of these kids show up on their probation hearing claiming they were about to go into the military.
Just as if someone told em its a great hail mary to stay out of jail.

I was going to say that I don't know what the standards are now, but normally the criminal conviction would torpedo any hopes he had (if they actually existed) of enlisting. Maybe the French Foreign Legion would take him, but the US military wouldn't.

on the contrary, teen pregnancy has decreased significantly in the last thirty years. what reduces unplanned pregnancy is and has always been comprehensive, developmentally appropriate sex education and available contraceptives. not discussing it just makes the problem worse.

His own lawyer offered a very snappy "Yep" answer and he seemed very ok with the ruling lol.
Imagine waking up thinking you'll be back home that day and finding out you're going to prison for 10 years lol.

James could care less about what the victim said. He was lucky to get probation and he violated it. I think he has little or no conscience. He is ungrateful for his grandmother. The children would be better off adopted and he needs some prison time.

I know some felt 8 years was harsh or that the judge should have given a second chance but he's blessed that he got a FIRST chance! That's your opportunity to prove that you can get it together. Some don't even get a first chance. I hate seeing young adults go to prison, but this could be the wake up call he needs. I had a stubborn, rebellious teen boy (other four no problems). He had to push the envelope until he pushed too far. He spent 9 months in jail. It broke our hearts, but he chose to break the law. We raised our kids to know that there are rules and laws put in place to protect you and others. When you CHOOSE to not follow them, there are consequences. It was the wakeup call he needed. He is now 38, successful, father of 2, wonderful wife...It was a hard lesson to learn and he had to work hard to overcome it.

My nephew was heading towards of life of crime. My brother gave my nephew two choices: Jail/kicked out of house OR enlist. He enlisted, buckled down and began to straighten up. Today, decades later, my nephew retired, as a Sargent.

We know where prison gets you… He’ll likely end up worse than ever, never able to support his kids, in and out of the system. At least with enlisting they have a chance at rehabilitation. They have purpose and pride.

That's $800 left to pay bills, buy food, and pay for transportation for work. If you're referring to what was said around 15:51, I believe the prosecutor was saying the defendant told probation, "I know the judge will reinstate me."

Then, there's also the rest of his body language. The totality of it all; including the IDGAF I could care less look on his face.. seriously says it all .. I honestly Believe because of the totality of everything; he really was unbothered and could care less. Even his attitude toward everything.. it's clear he doesn't believe he deserves any punishment at all and sees this as a waste of his time.

Young man, the time for you to prove to the court that you can be responsible and successfully complete probation is when you’re ON PROBATION. And never ever compound the issue after you quit reporting by telling probation “I know the judge will reinstate me.” I do wonder if he hadn’t made those kinds of statements to probation if the state/Judge Boyd would have altered the conditions and kept him on probation.

Yeah, because that’s what we see on here repeatedly. I’m glad to see her put an end to the madness with repeated chances, over and over again. It usually requires at least three motions to revoke probation in order to get a prison sentence. It should not. Probation is an individual’s second chance, but it seems they usually get a third and fourth.
How much easier can they make probation? They even let them do zoom calls and even that's still too hard to comply with, smh.

He's got 8 years to sit and think about all the ways he could have reported to his probation officer, stayed in school, not left that accident, not have two children before he was ready...etc

The D.A. practically DEMANDED he'd go to the slammer 'cause he failed to follow requirements for a 3rd degree FELONY!!! I think he should have gone to the slammer, but he acted astonished when he saw that's where he was going, KNOWING he messed up and they found out how smug he was about feeling they weren't going to call him out on it that he was going to be re-instated!! How WRONG he was!!! Knowing he was on paper and still felt he could do what he wanted to do!! Too many people like him have REPEATEDLY made that mistake and found out the hard way!!! Notice his lawyer changed the request from Probation to a bootcamp prison then probation after the guy spoke. This was a train wreck of a client.
Judge Boyd is not the one to play these games with... she always says, if something doesn't work, if you need help, you can always come back to the court.
He's young and soft, he will not fare well in prison.

I've got a brother who did 10 years because of bad choices, a drug habit, a gun and a store that had money he wanted. He's been out for over 20 years now, has kept his nose clean and has a good job owns property with a wife and 3 kids. From the stories he's told me it's not a fun or easy place to be. Just guessing this kid has a very hard learning experience coming his way. Do you have prison experience yourself? Please educate me on what this young man has coming his way.

It’s not difficult to get probation the first time a judge looks at you if it’s not a violent offense. It’s difficult to get a second chance. Especially if you did nothing with your first chance.

@@samanthacurl2640 It is not just Americans. It’s a global issue, been in many different cultures on this planet. Visited many countries. I seen people having kids (multiple) that are in much worse conditions as this kid was in. The only difference is Americans are much more transparent about I country’s issues instead of burying them.

He says he had transport difficulties, but he's young and fit and I'm just wondering how far he had to travel. When I was his age, I could jog 10 miles, and easily cycle 30 miles, and I was no particular athlete. Even when I was 40 and camping with up to 50 lbs of kit, I once cycled 87 miles in a (long) day...

Amongst other things, I used to take part in the (British) London Marathon with many thousands of other fun-run competitors, some entered the race dressed as elephants and heaven knows what. That's a 26 miles course ending at Buckingham Palace. I cycled the AlCan Highway, which is 1,387 miles from Delta Junction, Alaska to Dawson Creek, BC, Canada on a bicycle I bought from a pawnbroker in Vancouver, when I was 40. I've also hiked the Pyrenees from Biarritz to Perpignan and motorcycled across the Sahara. These day (at 73) I'm more subdued, but time remains the determining factor, not stamina. I regularly walk to a `local' pub for lunch. It's a 5-mile round trip which serves as a penance for the size of lunch I order(!) Maybe you should get off your beam-end and make your Nike trainers do what they were designed to do...

I 've only seen two successful people (out of a 100 +videos) where Judge Boyd, termed the remaining probation time. Everyone else doesn't get it or care, until they go to prison. Then they are shocked.
I went to basic training at Lackland way back in 2001, (or at least it feels that long) and even then I remember that area and the San Antonio area having a very robust transportation system. Who lies to a judge that their isn't reliable transportation in a large city?

If you find yourself in court for your actions, that's your wake up call.
This boy abandoned his injured and trapped friends in a car wreck, managed to get probation, then didn't do what he was supposed to do on probation. His excuses for the latter are fake. Basically, he did not try, or care to try. From all those actions and his behavior in court, it clear that he is of limited intelligence and does not take responsibility for his actions. Hopefully now his children will be taken care of properly by someone else.

The state attorney knew Judge wouldn't like that comment and so he worked it in. He also asked for time to prove he would do right but he forgot that was what he got before and failed. Wonder how he likes those consequences.
