- West Coast Racers Front Row POV Opening Day at Six Flags Magic Mountain. 12-21-2019 This was my experience riding on the new West Coast Racers roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. On Ride Front Row POV with 4K HD GoPro 7 Black with hypersmooth technology. The coaster was a very well constructed and smooth ride. The only thing missing is the halfway pitstop show before coming out of the garage for the second race launch. They will be adding more theming entertainment in that room while you are waiting for the other train to load up for the race. The best part of this coaster is that you will be racing / dueling the other track every time and you get to race twice per ride making it super enjoyable. Seating is comfortable not as restrictive like some of the other older rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Overall I would give West Coast Racers a 8 out fo 10 rating.

It seems tame for MM, not a bad thing. Reminds me a little of the removed Windjammer at KBF but without the head trauma.
It’s a family ride not designed as a top thrill ride like Magic Mountain usually does.

Wow, I was in row 5 of that train. Small world. I got 2 rides on it today. Solid ride. #4-#7 in the park in my opinion. Fun ride that is a good addition to their line-up.

I don’t understand the 54 inch height requirement. HangTime at Knott’s is only 48 inches and does a hell of a lot more.
Yes, I know it all depends on manufacture and train specs. This just looks like such a gentle coaster.

Took some time, but this turned out really cool. Doesnt look like the most intense ride, but its action packed and the pacing looks great, apart from the pitstop (if you could call it a pitstop, its more like an entire maintenance service lmao) of course but I suppose its worth it for the dueling aspect.
This ride will be great for an entire family without having to leave kids behind unless they are super small. I like the ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Whether people like the ride or not is up to them, but this is the exact kind of ride Magic Mountain needed; a moderately thrilling ride instead of something crazy like Twisted Colossus or X2
Yeah. This one is surprisingly family friendly. X2 is a beast.

When Six Flags Great Adventure hasnt gotten one new custom coaster since 2006 but SFMM gets a second racing custom racing coaster after an RMC custom racer to replace their old wooden one and Rolling thunder got a small commemorative piece left. Nice company.

I am aware of that, though thank you. If we wanted to dive into it sure, but it’s the 3rd most attended and has the next largest audience being near nyc, and all other surrounding six flags have gotten more. As for the RMC raptor I also know about this, and am excited, just a shame we haven’t gotten more additions in roughly 15 years. :3

Lots of dueling going on in this POV. Now whether or not Six Flags can pull it off 100% of the time we’ll have to wait and see. You had to wait a long time in the garage to get synchronized with the other train.
This will happen 100% of the time every time. The ride is setup for this to happen always. The wait time in the pit stop can be used to entertain the riders that’s for sure. It’s a little boring just to wait.

Yes but there was only one short video clip in a rather sparse looking West Coast Customs Garage. The video clip was long over before the two trains finally launched. I think the ride looks great and I hope Six Flags can pull it off.
It’s not the same setup as TC where the second train keeps going on the track. Here the second train stops every time waiting for the next rain to be ready to go. They can’t send the train otherwise because there is not brakes area for a third train.
@@NickyD If you anaylze the block segments, it will have to dual 100% of the time they are running three trains unless they want to stop the ride in the 2nd and 4th launches, which isn't ideal.
It looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully they'll get their dispatches up to speed so there isn't quite so long to wait on the yellow side.

despite how it looks, it feels much more intense when you're on it. you grey out a bit on both sides but especially the second track. coming out of that first high five element caused my vest to pop open and buttons to snap in one quick motion and phone flew out of my pocket my 5th time on it when i was seated in the front row... ive used this vest and pins to keep my phone safe on every ride at SFMM all year so that should tell you something. but to each their own i guess.it's a great ride
@The Reverend Jim Jones well if you read what I've commented I've used this vest to keep my phone safe and my pinned closed pockets all year long going to the park almost weekly, and never once had it come unbuttoned OR the pins closing the pockets snap off. not on x2, tatsu, twisted, etc. we came through that high five hard enough it popped the button open AND the pin off holding my phone in. my point is that while it didn't look that intense it definitely has done force to it
I wasn’t saying anything bad, just looks slow. Usually it’s always better in person.
@@TyySmoove1 i get you. i just wanted to share that looks are deceiving with this one haha if tatsu (or as i dubbed it years ago "the phone eater") couldnt pop the buttons and pins off my vest to force my phone out fit a whole year but this could, it's definitely not as mellow or a beginner ride by any means once it starts up

Magic Mountain is my home park but I feel like they cheaped out using Premier Rides to build WCR's instead of Intamin... maybe it's just me. We are going to get our GIGA next year right?

Even when I plan to go to this park for my first time either in late 2019 or early 2020, I would have check this new ride west coast racers out.These vehicles’ restraints are exactly like Electric eel at SeaWorld San Diego! And btw the video looks so hypersmooth in 2.0!
BlueKai2019 awesomecaillou5656 those(atleast in the Seaworld chain)are added PURELY for guest comfort, rather than safety. They are on Tempesto and Tigris as well.

I'd way rather have this (assuming it's reliable, or more reliable than full throttle, older premiere's, or intamin in general) than jersey devil and I'd also have been fine waiting the whole year if it meant they'd retrack El Toro in full like they did to apocalypse. Give us the magic mountain treatment as I'm going to call in a few years, after jersey devil is done and the kid's section is fixed up (so 2023-2024).

Now that this ride has been around for a while the line is shorter than you think. Each time I go I never waited more than 30 minutes

The pit stop should be showing west coast customs building cars on the screen. That's what I would do to entertain people
Sitting in the front row you don't even get to see the screen in the pit stop. I think the screen should be overhead. Playing music in the pit stop would be a cheap, quick and easy upgrade. It was silent in that room and that added to the boredom of waiting for the next racing launch.

This looks okay/decent, but it almost seems like this ride is about getting the trains out ASAP, rather than actually racing. I'm not sure if I would ride on it because if I was on both lanes, I think after getting off the ride, I would vomit and barf on this ride. This might be too much.
It’s a race every time. The trains leave the station at the same time every time so it is a race
The yellow track would look better blue and would match the logo with white and blue
I think blue was used on another coaster so Yellow is what they selected.

@@mr_marxman5188 No shit Max Force is an compressed air launch and compressed air launches have some of the fastest acceleration times on the planet. WCR uses an LSM launch which while more reliable does not launch as fast as hydraulic or compressed air

CLEOPATRA JONES it’s the same building, just a wall between trains so you can’t see the other side unloading/loading. That’s why it’s such a long delay.

i think it’s a great way to exercise and since i really don’t go out. i really enjoy it. but people like my mother gets really tired and she’s overweight and sometimes she comes with me and my nephews and can’t keep up. there is a train that leads u up so u don’t have to walk down/up the mountain but that’s the only train i know that leads u somewhere else.

This is precisely correct as it's under their Photography policy. The operators at the ride need to be more vigilant in spotting these loose articles while addressing guest and employee safety. If the person with the GoPro actually obtained expressed permission from the park (and ACE if in ACE), then we would see that in the video description.

SF needs to release a mounted POV that’s put next to the track cause this looks real sluggish. I’m sure it’s a great ride but the way this runs it wouldn’t make my top 5 there

EpicStarFox101 well SF makes those rules, they own the ride, and if a good quality POV was released it would discourage people doing it. GAm even recorded Maxx’s first test run

Looks a tad underwhelming. Great for kids who need something more than a kiddie coaster, but are still apprehensive about the big thrillers.
As long the kids are 54' inches or taller. Which is the same height limit as Tatsu and x2 and most of the other big coasters

@@Johnnyiswhere Maybe, but I can see how slow it is. It's also obvious there are no 200 foot drops or 100 foot airtime hills. It's just a couple inversions and turn around bends.

Twisted colossus is not a racing coaster although it’s idea was that way the trains do not always leave the station at the same time. This ride is set to always make the trains race

I'm a novice coaster enthusiast. I think Magic Mountain has a pretty good mix of coasters from family friendly to the Beast machines you are talking about.
Magic Mountain has always had the biggest and the best rides. This one just replaced some mediocre rides with a new updated mediocre ride.

Full Throttle looks way better
Both are fun, but this ride is a double loop. I like this one better.
Full throttle is much faster and taller. This ride is more like a kids ride.
Mad respect for Coasters. But this is very DISAPPOINTING for 2020 Coaster. So Basic
It’s basically a ride for the entire family to be able to enjoy together and exactly what SFMM needed in the coaster lineup. There are other thrill rides to enjoy if you are a roller coaster tycoon yourself.
Only a matter of time until they stop doing the duel to speed up ride times.
You can't because its programmed to duel every time. They learned what TC was lacking for the duel and made the launches happen 100% every time because the trains are setup to launch together. It's a race theme so its going to need to race every time.

@@MrSTONEking only thing that matters to them is how the public responds to WCR. And while I'm sure a dual track coaster isn't cheap, I'm guessing this didn't cost as much as you might think. Premier Rides is far cheaper than almost any other manufacturer, and the tie in with West Coast Customs also helped with the cost.
