My wife and I were on vacation in Paris about ten years ago. We had a corner room on the upper floor of the Hotel Regina Louvre across from the Louvre Museum. We had decided to stay in one evening, so I went to a local shop and bought cheese, cold cuts, bread and some wine. We moved a tiny table out on the balcony to enjoy the food and the incredible view down the Rue De Rivoli. There was a radio in the room. I turned it on, and it was apparently tuned to a classic station. The first song that came on was this song by Edith Piaf. We realized it was a magical moment for us both, and something we will never forget. Thanks to Edith Piaf and Paris.

The only movie I watched twice in a row. I couldn't take my eyes off her.
Marion, Marion, You have a special place in heart of my heart.

For me, the best film about Édith Piaf will be the film "Piaf" from April 10, 1974, with the actress Brigitte Ariel, who also played in the film "Monsieur Klein" by our late Alain Delon. The voice of Édith Piaf is performed by our late Betty Mars, who had the same voice, the same timbre to listen to, with our great actor Guy Tréjan (September 18, 1921 - January 25, 2001). There you go, Marion Cotillard can go back to cleaning! When you have seen the 1974 film "Piaf", you will all change your mind, it is very close to the truth!

Without words, goosebumps, tears, emotion, a wonderful movie, an incredible and painful story.
Marion Cotillard just brilliant, maybe the best performance I've ever seen or in the top five.
Cinema and stories are the most beautiful art.

Her expression is so haunting! Felt so emotional without having watched the movie...i just know a little bit of Edith Piaf's life and the pathos and melancholy tragedy of her life but Marion's expression in this one tiny scene wrenched twisted and broke my heart and made me feel everything the story and movie should/would've ...she deserves that oscar man!

Hats off to the director of this movie... If he wanted he could match the emotions of this song through the camera movements but, he didn't. He decided to match the emotion of this song with the Marion Cotillard's acting and expression... Damn! What an amazing actress she is!

Now that I have seen Marion act the part of Edith, I am a big fan of her acting ability. When I watched Le Vie En Rose for the first time, I had no idea it was Marion til the end credits! I first saw Marion in the film A Good Year and thought, just another pretty young female actor like the other actress in that movie. But with La Vie En Rose, I am impressed with the acting of Marion.

I think those actors and actresses on the set were actually crying during that scene. It was as if they weren't merely acting but actually getting emotional. And the actress did a superb job lip-syncing.

    Nothing at all
    I regret nothing at all
    Neither good things I’ve had
    Nor the wrongs
    I don’t care about that
    Nothing at all
    I regret nothing at all
    Can’t undo what’s been done
    Life goes on
    The past will not return
All my ups all my downs
    They’re all long gone
    Why ever would I want
    To relive the bygones
I have loved and I lost
    Though I’ve never been loved
    Never ever at all
    Time to start life anew
    Nothing at all
    I regret nothing at all
    Neither good things I’ve had
    Nor the wrongs
    I don’t care about that
    Nothing at all
    I regret nothing at all
For my life and my joy
    Will start anew
Once I am loved by you.

I started listening to Edith Piaf many many years back, she actually pulled me from EDM kind of music to this kind of music. Then there was a time when I didn't listen to her. Suddenly few days back I recalled how I used to like her singing. Then I came back to listen to her again and I got goose bumps once again. This kind of music never fades, it never gets old.
