Piaf gave so much of herself into her music and her music was really strong, rugged and unapologetic, quite like her life. Mireille Mathieu on the other hand is absolutely fabuluos artist and her voice and articulation is second to none. I absolutely adore her. Yes I enjoyed my life to the full. And lucky to see Alien life to they are called star hunters in life but I feel I can't share so much corruption in our World to share that experience. After reassurances by Mr. Sullivan, she started again and as we say today, "She nailed it!" It was a stunning performance and immediately drew comparisons with Edith Piaf. In my mind, arguably the two most talented female singers I have ever heard.

No she isn't - Mathieu is copying Piaf's voice instead of using her own voice. She also thinks that Piaf's voice is thinner than it is and nasal (if she really is trying to copy). Otherwise, it's just a good performance but not Edith Piaf.

This is, of course, Edith Piaf's song and always will be. That said, Mireille Mathieu is clearly every bit her equal. This is an amazing performance and I'm guessing with no need for auto-tune either. 'Love this. :)
No she isn't - Mathieu is copying Piaf's voice instead of using her own voice. She also thinks that Piaf's voice is thinner than it is and nasal (if she really is trying to copy). Otherwise, it's just a good performance but not Edith Piaf.
@@pugh.joseph Like many performers, Mireille Mathieu developed a style of her own and this is in keeping with many other songs she has performed. I am guessing her rolled R is, at the very best, just a nod to an icon. While it's use is less common today, it hardly satisfies the charge of copying.

Her rolled R, the LBD does not mean that she is copying EP, merely giving a nod to a greta performer. I doubt anyone would confuse the performances of Edith Piaf and Mireille Mathieu.'Eyes closed, people would know instantly which of the two is singing and that is because the two voices each have their own qualities.
