I remember being a little kid and only having this CD when I just moved to our new house. I watched it at least once everyday. Knowing almost every dialogues by heart. Rip DMX.
I've always admired how Jet Li allows his opponents to become aggressive, angry, violent and sloppy before he counterstrikes. It shows he has composure, focus and control like a true martial artist because a true martial artist knows the style and skills are a way of life meant only to defend and protect and that being the cliched "epic/hardcore badass" has NOTHING to do with it.
IMO. To this day. The Octagon Scene was the best. Stunt Coordinator Cory Yuen out did himself. Getting the top fighters from UFC. That was the greatest Fight Choreography ever done. The likes of Tito Ortiz Randy Couture & Chuck Liddell. Simply the best
@@devinewynder5443 Jet Li is a fighter in real life would whoop everybody here, including me, and in the UFC. Don't doubt him, most of these Chinese/Japanese actors aren't exactly just doing the choreographed fights, they're fighters in real life. Li, Chan, Lee, Yen, I could go on would spank most of the UFC fighters.
+footbru Nah using just one hand in Chinese martial art means "you're too bad for me to use two hands". How the fuck would you continue filming with the starring actor is that injured?
I've heard Jet Li did the movie to keep him busy until there was good project came along. Li even admitted the movie War was crap. Think it's rare that an actor will admit some of the movies that they did was horrible or knew was horrible.
I think it's more common than you think, for instance, Kelly Hu took a role in Underclassman after this. And in addition, her first project was Friday the 13th Part VIII and many of the actors admitted they needed the work and disregarded how faulty the script was
It's funny how people confuse Jet Li with the 'character' he is playing. I'm a Jet Li fan but he would get whooped by several if not most of the fighters in the cage (I only know a few of them I'm sure some of them are just stunt men). Take another movie that Jet and Randy Couture were in. The whole cast of The Expendables agreed if they all fought there'd be a pile of bodies and Randy would be sitting on top.
@The legendary procrastinator I mean it doesn't take an expert to know that the former UFC HW and LHW champion of the world is going to be able to beat up a bunch of actors with limited martial arts experience, most of whom he shares size parity with or is larger than. Through MMA we've seen that without the core foundation skills of boxing, kickboxing/MT, BJJ and Wrestling to build off of traditional martial arts aren't competitive in MMA. They can add deadly tools to guys with those foundational skills but on their own they don't hold up.
In china. U need chinese teachers. U.S teachers are all for profit. U rly want to learn, u gotta do it the old school. Become a master's apprentice. Practically his slave. Do everything for him. Revere him. And in exchange, he would train you
This is a great movie but one thing I wonder when I watch it, that as demonstrated by the first two scenes shown here, Jet fights with one hand in his pocket. Do you think he was just showing off fighting one handed or that he had hurt his arm filming another scene and that's how they got round it. Might uyou, pretty impressive fighting skills either way!

Seeing DMX and Jet Li in a movie to me is an epic crossover.

It's a shame, Earl Simmons (DMX) was a damn good actor when given a chance and an awesome rap artist. RIP hope you are at peace finally.

i know right, his style in this movie is especially badass, i just wish that he got more this kind of style in other movies and longer too...
One of my favorite Jet Li fighting scenes
Lee is like a walking death machine. The speed, the force, the techniques... Unbelievable.

Jet li is a freaking savage.

Mark Decascos is so underrated......what an extraordinary fighter!
He was so good. Jet li had to use both of his hands to fight em. He usually would have one in his pocket. Lol
Only The Strong.
Who's here after DMX is dead 💔😢
It's why they call it a movie, I like jet lee's style of fighting.
That camera work with the action and music though🙌
Jet Li fights like a bad ass with only one hand.
fuck yeah
This movie is nostalgic, the best example of a good action and fighting movie.
4:21 when he pulled his earring out, my ear hole felt that😭😭
Dk
For those who didn't know, the middle aged guy with the red shirt and flaming shorts in the octagon cage scene is Tito Ortiz, pro UFC fighter.
They’re all pro even machida is in it and lidell
I thought that was the undertaker 🧍🏽
Jet Li is so badass
Jet Li would be up against 50 people and he would still win. He'd counter their every move
Hey jet Li fuck those guys up
He sure did against a group of black belts at a French police station. Amateurs.
So when jet li gets in trouble, all he has to do is bring his hand out of his pocket?
That's his serious mode.

I had never saw Jet Li fight with one hand in his pocket and the other hand is free for defense
@@singletra2254 .

Jet Li just took out the entire UFC LIST!
Jet Li had barely any challenge in this movie
I love the fact that Jet Li can give any other martial arts actor (or actress) a run for their money, so to speak
It was said during this movie that jet li had injured his left hand so he couldnt really move or use it to his best like other movies.
Cause DMX would stand a chance against Jet Li. lol

u can see his stunt double really quick when he's doing flips and when Ortiz throws him to the fence

Fun fact: DMX performed his own stunts in this movie
