I love how Smith shoots Neo without any sort of pause or hesitation. No taunt or monologue. He just fires.
He already did his monologue in their fight before this.
The actor talked about how he came up with the voice of Dr. Smith. It was based on a newscast of a newscaster he had heard. He was looking for something that was neither human nor robotic, the voice of a program. Then he hears this guy doing a newscast in a certain tone and manner for 10 seconds or so and decides that Dr. Smith should speak in that tone and voice for the entire film.

2:51-3:11 I never get sick of watching this. Just the way he effortlessly counters an agent who utterly dominated Morpheus and then stuns him by sending him back.
Indeed. Smith is aprogram, and neo at that moment pro-reads all his actions. Thats what he actually does as the One. Reads/Writes/edits the programs around him
I don't like the bravado that Neo shows though. Putting his hand on his hip and using one hand. It's unnecassary. I always thought it silly and brings me out of the moment. I think they could have had Neo do this one handed without the so obvious standing to the side and hand on hip. Shame. Otherwise a perfect scene.

I always loved Neo's nonchalant "..no" line right before stopping the bullets. Its like he had become so powerful and realized how small and insignificant his surroundings are now.
Yea, he realises that it's all fake. He died and came back, imagine that realisation, it's instantly makes it impossible to believe any of it is real.

I'm already 20 and the first time I watched The Matrix was when I was about 9 or 10. Neo, Apoc, and Switch were my favorites and when I saw Apoc and Switch die cause of Cypher, I was upset. But this part where Neo dies made me shed tears cause Neo's my most favorite and when Neo died I said,
"No! Not Neo too!!!" I couldn't watch anymore after that. But after Trinity kissed him, my stepdad said,
"Look kiddo." While he was smiling and when it showed Neo opening his eyes, I was both shocked and happy. And I said,
"He's alive!!!" And when the agents were shooting at him, I got all worried and said,

That's the reason the Oracle told Trinity that "The One" would be the one she falls in love with. Her admitting that she loves him to Neo after he died unlocked his potential. Oracle said he has the gift, but was waiting for something. This is exactly what he was waiting for, even though it was completely unknown to him. Had the Oracle not told Trinity about loving "The One", she would've never realized that was a requirement and wouldn't have said/admitted what she did. Trinity is a reference to "The Holy Trinity" in the Bible, The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Here, it's Trinity, Neo, and the Oracle.

@@SolarDragon007 When they made The Matrix they had no idea it was going to be so big. So, sort of. They had to find a way to make the plot be more than "And neo used his godlike powers to save everyone." Then stretch it across two more movies.

@@FredrickTesla I heard somewhere, (not sure if this is true), that they'd originally planned the second film to be a prequel showing the POV of the machines and how they rose to power, but the studio nixed that idea. I think if the second film had been a prequel, and the third film showed Neo confronting the machines shortly after the first film, it would've worked a lot better as a trilogy.
So here’s the thing. This movie was so groundbreaking in so many ways, introducing new technology, camera angles, unused tropes etc that when Neo got shot I was actually convinced that they killed him. Like another new thing this movie was doing, killing off the main hero to concentrate on the survivors back on the ship. Spoiler alert, Neo is waiting for Trinity's kiss. Oracle to Trinity: you will fall in love with that man and that man you love will be the one. So there you go! No wasted dialogue, truely a masterpiece.
Neo: Waiting for what?
Oracle: Some of Trinity's pussy, maybe. Who knows.
She wasn’t wrong 🤷🏻♂️
The moment he said no, that's when he remembered the little kid at the oracles house saying there is no spoon, so bullets were not real
He doesn't even need to remember that now, he feels it directly, it is his authorizaiton in the system
@@romanpipkin5573 ill never understand how the sequels were ever made it really should have just been side stories about the rest of the world as neo had finished his arc and was only one step away from completing his mission
@@Bello_6 after arc only one step away how is yours going ?
It doesn't matter if its not real when it feels real.
Him being the one doesn't mean he's now god, it means he has certain privileges that other people and programs, don't. Since as said in Reloaded, being the one is just another level of control by the machines.
@@wulite4601 that is correct, is like a different level of awareness he is developed
There has not been a film this good and this original for a while. Please someone, we need more Matrix's (not sequels to the Matrix)!
今日も最高にハッピーとラッキーを受け取りました!
ありがとうございます!
全てが整い覚醒しました☆
Neo:
What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus:
No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.
Love a bit of foreshadowing 😂
What like the super heavy foreshadowing in Dragonball Z when north Kai says "that man is going to be the death of me" talking about goku actually killing him in the cell saga
@@nikolaiorr8383 Love thd TFS reference x3
@@Flamyll love tfs they definitely did I better
the best line in the whole movie, i remember watching this at the cinemas and after hearing this I didn't know what to expect but this got me so excited
Nikolai Orr tfs definitely isn’t better, just more funny
Kids know John wick.
Legends know Mr. Anderson.
Myths know Mr. Frodo
so true John Wick is just for kids and Matrix for Adults
Adult know John Constantine
His name.... Is Neo!
Best comment yet😂😂😂😂
Easily one of the most badass moments when he blocks them strikes one handed 😌
I remember seeing this and thinking Neo is dead. I couldn't believe it. He had been shot 10 times and was gone.
It was such a shock when he gets back up. We are told "when you die in the real world, you die in the matrix." So when he gets up and stops the bullets mid air I was in complete disbelief. Then when he isn't even looking but blocking every punch thrown by Smith, and when he enters his body, absolute shock. Right up until this point the audience has bought into the idea that Morpheus was wrong, the prophecy isn't true and Neo is just a man. Mind blowing.
There was never a moment like this in the sequels.
the moment when you're granted admin privileges :P
Underrated comment 😂
Hell yea
"sudo"
Yup
Only The real know 😭😭😂😫
Neo be like: “oh shit I could get laid here”
*wakes up*
Get this underrated comment on top
Hahahahahaha
Lol
through the power of Boner he got his second wind and evolved
A feeling of love triggered Neo's sense of reality. It seems any strong feeling/emotion/desire in the real world can activate "being the one" that hacks the Matrix.
The "flexing" hallway is a neat callback to the spoon conversation, since it wasn't really the hall, but Neo flexing!
3:55 best example of machine learning ever......
2:51 when you learn all your Mum’s beating combos
bahahahaha 😂🤣🤣
lmfao i created a meme outta this
Hahaha!
hahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahah i legit cried from this
Dead 💀🤣
i love how he stops the bullets and looks at them as if they are the spoon that the kid was talking about realizing finally what he ment and applying it in real time
Neo ascending and just taking Agent Smith with one arm never ceases to amaze me
This movie introduced me to the term of hacking and the world of programming. At the time of the release, I was only 9. I got inspiration from The Matrix to learn programming. Eventually, I earned a degree in computer science. 20 years later, now I am teaching programming courses in a university, doing research in AI and still watching the movie! Hollywood! The Matrix changed my life. Hats off to Neo!
sos un revelde porque la programación es lo que va a terminar creando una ia independiente a las maquinas y no van a poder frenarlas luego
Stop doing research into AI you fucking lunatic
@@jillbill7752 I do research in AI to stop it becoming self-aware.

@@damito2887 If you don't research, how do you know the possibility of it becoming self-aware? How to prevent it? How to stop it? How to make it safe?

AI's get paid?! o_0
One of the most iconic movie scenes of all times. Golden 90's
Love how the music goes with Neo's dicovery that he is the one gradually through the scene until the very point that he kills Smith
The word "no" is very powerful. It is what keeps the freedom of humanity alive. Just remember folks when you're coerced, intimidated, shamed or threatened to comply to something you have a bad feeling about in order to keep a job, a family, or a happy life you still have a choice. Tactics that use your livelihood as leverage for you to give a yes is totalitarianism in its purest form. You can be a person that supports such a system or a person that supports freedom.
Amen . That's all truth
💉 cough cough 💉
I instantly understood what you meant. I agree.
No
😉 I know. People will call you paranoid for saying that. Don't give in to it.
Agent Smith the only Villain to ever finish the Hero without having to tell them their entire evil plan and backstory. No. He just shot him.... Then yknow theres the whole the power of love and plot armor thing but like shh.
Nah fam not the power of love or plot armor. I recommend watching the movie again and paying attention to the story a bit more this time.
Technically he told his story to Morpheus earlier.
love is real, the bullets werent
He spews on and on about how humans are a virus earlier in the film. He's already said his whole villain plan/backstory at this point.
Then later on he becomes a virus
