Hi. I have a 65inch lg OLED and I have a very particular problem and I can’t find any solution anywhere and maybe you can have an ideea. The TV turns on , but the dashboard doesn’t come on. It will not recognise any HDMI connected devices like Apple TV or PS. You can hear sounds in the background but the image will not come on. The only one that it will recognise is the SkyTv box after multiple on and off turnings. After Sky comes on (Sky is the UK satellite cable tv) only the sky remote works , the LG magic remote only allows volume up or down and switch to another HDMI outlet but then you can’t get back to Sky. You will only get sound. No image. So after a few ON and Offs I will get the image back. 90% of the buttons on the magic remote do nothing. The settings button brings the menu list on if the sky is on only, but after that you can’t access any of the features. Nothing will work. I wanted to reset to factory settings but I can’t get into the menu or dashboard. It is only a 2 yo TV and it was so expensive amd it must be bugged or corrupted or something but I tried everything online videos reboots and such but nothing works. Can you help
I replaced the panel on the OLED g2 because of a problem and I received a panel with a green color, it's awful, with the pink color it was much better, does anyone know if it can be fixed?
does it move if you changing your viewing angle? if it does then it is the inherited tint of LG woled panel, nothing you can do about it. If it is static tint aka uniformity of the panel then you should exchange it.
@@ΜΑΚΕΔΩΝ21 No, what causes this is the antireflective coating layer LG uses on their new woled since C1. Every screen has this problem more or less, if it is too bad you should exchange it or switch to TV with qd-oled panel.
Ill give you two 👍👍🤭 ... im ready to buy a new tv (mine is 35 yrs old!!), sadley i can't go bigger than 48, but this green tint which im assuming isnt just exclusively on the lg is making me very reluctant to buy any oled this year. Is it something that can be adjusted in the settings or on a future update? Thanks for all your excellent work.
In short, it is not something from the new line 4 and something that happens from the c1 to the c3 also has a greenish tone, and some models have a pinkish tone, I have seen reports of the g3 also having this greenish tone, now the g4 no longer hears it and may have it too. It's something from oled technology it's not something from Lg. Amoled screens from sasumg are also like that
Hi, my LG C1 just died, thank God I have the extended warranty. Trying to decide between the 65 LG C4 or the Samsung S90D, mostly for watching sports, ps5 gaming and movies. Which is the better overall tv? TIA
I will always praise someone who is taking the time to point out cons as well as pros. I can then make a better informed decision on what matters to me - thanks so much for this. I'm sure you took some flack since there seem to be a crazy number of LG C4 fanboys who can see no wrong with anything about any LG ever. A great example of a con that mattered to me but maybe not to others is the b4's optical out port on the rear which would make wall mounting it a pain in the butt.. that matters to me!
I returned my LG G4 because of the washed-out colors and green tint that I could notice. I was underwhelmed with G4 I ended up getting the S95D and I love it. S95D colors and game mode is amazing. I also love watching sports on Samsung S95D
did you notice any motions judder on the S95? heard a few complaints about Samsung tvs with motion clarity. Might be internet users exaggerating as usual
@@haewymetal my c3 has mild pink and green tint but it hardly appear on camera so i think c4 has it worse. Heavy green tint is the worst because it will ruin skintones.
Quite noticeable to me when watching anime like One Piece. It's awful because the green is not uniform, so portions are greener than others. I'm so unlucky that the green is noticeable even when NOT watching from an angle. :(
I just got the 65" C4 and I think every review mentions this green tint thing, but I don't see it at all. I've walked from in front of the screen all the way to both sides and didn't notice any hint of green in the image.
I bought an LG CX brand new after watching your channel. That was a while ago. I love the picture quality, but some of the things that annoy me are obviously still present on the newer designs, like this one. The most frustrating one is the poor reliability on the eARC connectivity, despite both units being made by LG and an expensive, fully compliant cable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Generally I find anything that works 'automatically' in software is unreliable. The remote is pretty much the same as yours. Why have they buried the info button knee deep in menus? Hopeless. Final point - no CH4 catchup because LG refused to pay the licence for it. I'm not sure I would buy LG again.
I want to upgrade to 77 inch G4 but I’m so scared of burn in as I have a 65 inch C8 closing in on 6 years old now and has logo burn ins and I can’t part with so much money to see it happen again has the new oleds improved in that area ? Cheers
Hi Yes new Oleds are improved with tech to prevent burn in. You just have to go to settings menu -"Oled panel care" and Enable them. They have: Pixel Shift - when a static image is detected it is switching pixels continuously, Logo protection - it is dimming the static logos. Pixel refresh - every 4 hours of watching tv it takes 1 hour of clean-up when tv is turned off-(standby), user Must Never Switch Off the Wall Power Outlet so the tv' ll be on Standby Mode for the process to be performed. Pixel clean - It's performed automatically (If Enabled) once a year or after 1000 hours of viewing, it takes a few hours to be performed. There is also an option for a manual pixel cleanup if necessary, e.g in a case of Visible Image Retention - Ghosting. It is recommended to use this manual feature very rare Only If Necessary. There is always the risk of burn in even with these preventative technologies. I hope I was helpful. Cheers from Cyprus!
@dionmcmurrick7997 after the c9 and up they got a lot better against burn in I have a C1 77 and never really see image retention at all. I had a b7 and it was very noticable. nowdays you don't have to worry about 🔥 in 😀
We're in the same boat as our old LG OLED has burn in all over the bottom and top left. Read some recent articles saying burn in is a thing if the past etc etc. Bought a 2024 LG OLED B4 last week and it had burn in out of the box(packaging looked unopened and brand new btw) go figure, the left and right sides of the screen had all the stats of the TV showing clearly when we tried it out with a football match playing. Usual different colour uniformity TV test which I recommended everyone to play when they get a new TV confirmed it. So we sent it back and are just going to live with our old LG oled for a bit longer. From my personal experience running the burn in fix software feature only made it look worse on our current TV so if there's any signs of Monday tv send it straight back. Good luck making your decision, hope this helps 🤞
The remote, yeah it feels cheap, time for it to go. But I do like the magic pointer part. Every person in the house does and was a requested feature on our next TV when I was shopping to replace my C8 to get the G3. No play/pause drives me crazy.
lol all the worst things he mentioned are the things I don't even consider since this are the worst things then this tv is okay to me then I'll buy it❤
Hi Mate can you please review the TCL 65" C805K Mini LED, and tell us what you think, I think is a beast as got spec similar to LG Alpha 9 proc. but it costing a lot less TCL £779 , LG £2500 ish, Thanks in advance Tom Pumping Iron
Big guy really need your advice, going to pull the trigger on a 77" lg oled, g2 is £1799 and C3 is £2100, which would you go for, is there a big difference? Cheers

Agree with the frequent updates 💯. All because it forces you to when you actually open it. Should be done in background or option to update like how it is on every other OS!
Green Tint is well known o WRGB OLEDs. The G2 had it too and it was the reason for me to send it back. You have to look at QD OLED to avoid that completely.
*remote control* I rarely use it. Here's what I do... For my wall-mounted G2, I have a thin bookshelf below. On top of that I have a Samsung Soundbar. Next to that I have a have an Amazon Fire Cube. I love the tiny remote that it uses . AND I prefer the Amazon main page over LG's mess. Cube remote is similar or identical to the Firestick, but I got the Cube because I have a 4TB SSD attached (through a powered HUB as the USB2 on the Cube can't handle much power)... KODI is the software I use for my movies/tv (ripped hundreds of movies!) anyway, I only use the LG remote to enable Bluetooth (have a BluMe bluetooth thingy for my 3.5mm headphones) and switch back to my Soundbar, or change the motion smoothing (leave mostly on "Cinema" but sometimes need more for some anime/cartoons that judder too much).
Hey mate. Looking to upgrade to a OLED and this is about the max I can go budget wise, possibly the C4. I’m into my gaming and have the PS5 and Xbox X. Currently have a big older 65 inch Samsung that’s nothing special and almost unwatchable when the sun is out. Will I be happy? Budget is about £1300 so this appears to be the best in that budget? Any tips appreciated
@mitchyruns7818 The C4 should be a good choice, but if you want a little extra brightness, then it may be worth considering last years G3 OLED. If you shop around, you may be able to pick one up.
I should have watched your video before making my purchase. My brand new LG C4 has colour non-uniformity issue and noticeable green tint on one side when viewing at ZERO ANGLE. LG customer service told me this problem is normal with their OLED and refused to exchange or refund it. 🙁 I'm so upset by it.
I was just on LG yesterday and got the 55" C4 for only £930, cant really complain about the price. I have been running a Samsung HD tv for over 12 years (the one with the black bevels and red details), now the capacitors have started to buzz quite loudly. I was wanting to get the G3 but it was out of stock...
Yeah the 55" C45LA was £930 and the 55" C44LA sold most places was £500 more expensive on LG website. I phoned them and the only difference is the cheaper C45LA has NFC on the remote so it's better! I picked up the LG USC9S Soundbar from Peter Tyson for £479. It's £999 most places. Listened to it in John Lewis. Sounds great and looks cool as designed to be housed by the C Series.
The only other difference is the more expensive one has WISA (wireless speakers capability), which is of no use to me, so I got the 55inch C4 for £930. An incredible deal at that price for a 2024 OLED.
Honest question, any reason beside the price to go for a C3 instead of C4? Planning to buy a c3 because is the only model I can find here in the 3rd world in 42” to use almost as a monitor
@tdorneles there is nothing wrong with the C3. it's slightly dimmer than the C4. I only got a new tv due to my previous tv that was over 12 years old started to buzz. Try to see the tv in person and judge for yourself.
I fully agree with all the cons. The power cable on my 2016 Panasonic DX900 was detachable and so are my Samsung TVs but not my G2 and the boxes from the big three are garbage nowadays, if TCL & Hisense can still manage to have nice colorful boxes then the big 3 have no excuse although thankfully with LG & Samsung you still get plastic over the screen whereas with Sony you don’t even get that anymore. I don’t use the art feature so that’s no loss to me personally.
Just to reassure people, Ive been using a CX for 4 years now and I have no burn in whatsoever. Mixed use and have used it with my PC for the last year or so also
Fixed power cables suck i mean how on earth are we meant to use this even unplugged ones are too short my hair dryer has a longer cable.. and my toaster..why would u get hate comments i dont understand your only trying to help people 😢 upsets me...🎉
Here is my worst of list for this TV: 1: Turns a lot of old things into an unwatchable bad mess due to film grain handling. Need an egregious example, watch Twilight Zone episode "A Nice Place to Visit." The sky and white coats look like bugs are crawling all over them. My cheap TV from 10 years ago renders it as a tiny pleasant graininess. 2: Buggy handling of Dolby Vision and Atmos. If you are watching a show where some commercials have Atmos and some don't, it flutters on and off so much that the TV loses the sound bar and needs power cycled. This is on a new Sonos, so hardly a fringe case. 3: A couple bad HDMI ports, right out of the box. 4: One custom setting for all inputs, so I can't save one brightness setting for noon and another for midnight. Once again, failing compared to a ten year old cheap Vizio.
Just seems like OLEDs have gotten so far since the CX and is now almost like the iPhone, very minor changes that don't drastically make any difference other than a few brightness tweaks. My LG C2 had some pretty bad burn in from using spreadsheets on it for work. Literally about 4 months of using the website that caused it (not even stuck on the same page all day, a lot of moving around to different tabs). Whatsapped LG, they advised that they wouldn't replace the panel. Shame, but it does seem to have almost gone a year on after a sh&t ton of pixel/panel refreshes.
Will any manufacturer make a TV that has firmware that is not full of bugs ? Sadly i doubt it, but LG are taking the mickey with so many that could so easily combined into one. Re the green tint, my C3 had the pink tint if you tried to view off axis, the viewing angles of these Oled panels is not great. The rest of the issues that irritate were there in previous generations yet LG choose to ignore them.
@@kelvintse1421 Sorry to here that, reject the TV and ask for a refund. LG are aware of these issues when viewed off axis, but if it's there we viewed directly that indicates a faulty panel. I hope the retailer does the right thing, don't accept a repair or exchange.
Honest I’m fine that the box comes like that. No need to make it all extra to just throw it out. In the end for gaming on consoles and long term for keeping the brightness LG is always the better choice. I have tried Phillips and Samsung tvs and they get green, get dead pixels or have a yellow tint when playing. Which I think is not alright for their price. Samsung also cheat a little when it comes to performance. I’m split on c4 and g3/g4 but don’t want over 50 inch
Hi Paul - Just reaching out to you asking have you ever had any issues with LG ? my LG- G1 77 inch which I purchased from John Lewis 2 years ago just decided to throw up error code 201 which means I cannot watch any channel via the app BBC , ITVX, CHANEL 4 & 5 + Netflix & Disney + are all unavailable to me . Micro Lens Array is only applied to G series. This makes g3 much better than c4 at same price but if you have c3 already it's definitely not worth upgrading.
Yep, i got the C2 and is the same thing. The only way is going with the qd-oled, which uniformity is perfect. I’ve a monitor and a tv and they are flawless
@giulioparisa8794 QD OLED TVs don't have a green tint but they most definitely have a pink/magenta tint. However, it tends to look more natural than a crap green tint, so QD OLEDs still win.
The 3,567th thing I can't stand about the C4 is the sound quality. It would be better to not have speakers so we could buy a soundbar before ever hearing the speakers in the first place.

Green tint also visible while sitting right in front of the tv? On the left and right sides and slightly on the top and bottom? As if you're looking in a circle in the middle that does have the right colors?
For the price it's a rip off.

Hello Paul you left two another worst thing about this LG OLED. We are in 2024 and we are spending huge lot of money and funnily enough this TV still ships with USB 2.0 no USB-C and also if you check the network it is still 100 mbs only! Thanks for the video
Hi, it's great to see you back on here .Great video, as always.
Only 65 have green tint or all sizes c4???
All C4
I replaced the panel on the OLED g2 because of a problem and I received a panel with a green color, it's awful, with the pink color it was much better, does anyone know if it can be fixed?
Did the replacement have any problems? I'm experiencing this green tint problem with my brand new LG C4 65".
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that it can't be fixed.
Such a shame, to put it mildly, that you have to put up with such issues for such a price.
does it move if you changing your viewing angle? if it does then it is the inherited tint of LG woled panel, nothing you can do about it. If it is static tint aka uniformity of the panel then you should exchange it.
@@exenemy3216 will the calibration correct the problem?
@@ΜΑΚΕΔΩΝ21 No, what causes this is the antireflective coating layer LG uses on their new woled since C1. Every screen has this problem more or less, if it is too bad you should exchange it or switch to TV with qd-oled panel.
i guess this issue only for C series. Because im using G3 and this white not changing when i watching this tv different angles.
Ill give you two 👍👍🤭 ... im ready to buy a new tv (mine is 35 yrs old!!), sadley i can't go bigger than 48, but this green tint which im assuming isnt just exclusively on the lg is making me very reluctant to buy any oled this year. RTINGS also reported “colour banding” in the gray colour zone on the C4. Did you see it at all? (Planning to buy one in the fall.)
Specifically is it just the C4? I mean if I got a G4 or any other fairly recent LG is it on them too?

I think inaccurate colors is absolutely unacceptable at this price point
rtings mentions aggressive ABL, how aggressive are we talking? is it like jarring, is it frequent?
Thanks for the info 👍🏽
I returned my LG G4 because of the washed-out colors and green tint that I could notice. I was underwhelmed with G4 I ended up getting the S95D and I love it. S95D colors and game mode is amazing. I also love watching sports on Samsung S95D
did you notice any motions judder on the S95? heard a few complaints about Samsung tvs with motion clarity. Might be internet users exaggerating as usual
Unfortunately it has problems running 144hz
Are you returning the telly if it's got green colour?
they all have it, some even have a pink tint, and it varies from panel to panel, even the c2 and c3 have some
@@haewymetal my c3 has mild pink and green tint but it hardly appear on camera so i think c4 has it worse. Heavy green tint is the worst because it will ruin skintones.
how noticiable is the green tinge when actually watching something ?
Quite noticeable to me when watching anime like One Piece. It's awful because the green is not uniform, so portions are greener than others. I'm so unlucky that the green is noticeable even when NOT watching from an angle. :(
So the green tint is only seen in off axis viewing?

I agree. Get Samsung S90D or S95D. Both great Tvs
I want to upgrade to 77 inch G4 but I’m so scared of burn in as I have a 65 inch C8 closing in on 6 years old now and has logo burn ins and I can’t part with so much money to see it happen again has the new oleds improved in that area ? Cheers
Hi
Yes new Oleds are improved with tech to prevent burn in.

No play/pause drives me crazy.
play pause = press wheel
My LG color is not improving what can i do ?
1. Green tint
2. Shorter power cable
3. Rear design looks
4. Burn in possibilities
5. Cheap Remote design
6. Frequent updates/bug fixes
7. Poor cardboard box design (😂)
8. Art gallery removed
9. Power saving mode On by default (Reduces brightness)
lol all the worst things he mentioned are the things I don't even consider
since this are the worst things then this tv is okay to me then I'll buy it❤
uniformity on my C3 is perfect for the most part..no pink tint or green tint that I’ve noticed

*remote control*
I rarely use it.
KODI is the software I use for my movies/tv (ripped hundreds of movies!)
anyway, I only use the LG remote to enable Bluetooth (have a BluMe bluetooth thingy for my 3.5mm headphones) and switch back to my Soundbar, or change the motion smoothing (leave mostly on "Cinema" but sometimes need more for some anime/cartoons that judder too much).
Can you tell me why my Lg c2 have a white back?...mine is the only one i see, the others have a black back...

You wony get a c4 for that. They cost around 2.2k
@leoburton77 the tv supports its own wireless infrastructure on its sound bars doesn't it? I currently connect through HD ark so makes no odds.
Thanks Paul. Have plans t oget your hands on the LG G4 and Sony Bravia 9? I would like to har yout take on testing these. Stay up!!
So C3 is still fine, no need to buy C4
Mixed use and have used it with my PC for the last year or so also
Fixed power cables suck i mean how on earth are we meant to use this even unplugged ones are too short my hair dryer has a longer cable.. and my toaster..why would u get hate comments i dont understand your only trying to help people 😢 upsets me...🎉
I don't know. I like these brown plain boxes more. I remember I was very disappointed when Technics moved from brown boxes to white ones back in 90s.
Here is my worst of list for this TV:
1: Turns a lot of old things into an unwatchable bad mess due to film grain handling.
Is this a manufacturer default?
I got the Same Problem with Red/Pink on my LG CX.
In the invent of making the tv lighter and save on the environment they used lower quality materials for the back of the tv
Shame the price ain't lower 😄
Will any manufacturer make a TV that has firmware that is not full of bugs ?
Sadly i doubt it, but LG are taking the mickey with so many that could so easily
combined into one.
Re the green tint, my C3 had the pink tint if you tried to view off axis, the viewing
angles of these Oled panels is not great.
The rest of the issues that irritate were there in previous generations yet LG choose
to ignore them.
My brand new LG C4 65" has a third of the screen with the green tint when viewed DIRECTLY... :(
@@kelvintse1421 Sorry to here that, reject the TV and ask for a refund.
LG are aware of these issues when viewed off axis, but if it's there we viewed
directly that indicates a faulty panel.
I hope the retailer does the right thing, don't accept a repair or exchange.
Is there an embargo on doing c3 v c4 not one RUclips video as clearly the c3 is better
I went with the C3 over the C4…
I hope you will get your hands on new Bravias soon.
If you look at the C4 from behind, you see a rather uniform gray
Honest I’m fine that the box comes like that. No need to make it all extra to just throw it out.
In the end for gaming on consoles and long term for keeping the brightness LG is always the better choice. I have tried Phillips and Samsung tvs and they get green, get dead pixels or have a yellow tint when playing. Which I think is not alright for their price. Samsung also cheat a little when it comes to performance.
I’m split on c4 and g3/g4 but don’t want over 50 inch

Yep, i got the C2 and is the same thing. The only way is going with the qd-oled, which uniformity is perfect. I’ve a monitor and a tv and they are flawless
People viewing their TV from the side have it coming anyway tbh.
