      You totally got this! I started my weight loss journey many years ago because I would never have been able to fit on coasters like Velocicoaster. Now 6 years later and 200 pounds down I get nervous that I'm too tiny now riding coasters. I love thrill coasters and I promise the outcome is well worth it. Velocicoaster is my absolute favorite so far in Florida.

    I appreciate you testing the seat for us who are larger to get and idea beforehand what to expect. It can be embarrassing to not fit. Thank you for braving it for the larger people❤.

    I hate that bigger people are unable to ride certain rides (my son is one of those people), so I really appreciate you showing us the test seat and the actual seat. I know it's not a good feeling....but thank you for letting us know.
    Seriously.

      It’s not out of malice, safety is important for all attendees. Much better to be safe than sorry unfortunately,

    • @Hammerstone89
      @Hammerstone89 Год назад +16

      Safety is more important, and far outweighs (no pun intended) someone's feelings about being turned away. Whilst it might not be nice not fitting on a ride, that should be a wake up call.

    • @mithrandir1572
      @mithrandir1572 Год назад +6

      I completely understand safety...but if the majority of large people (including my son) can fit and be whipped around on Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, Big Thunder Mountain, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Slinky Dog Dash, Soaring, Fast Track, The Mummy...there's no reason they shouldn't be able to ride on Flight of Passage, Forbidden Journey, Gringott's etc...
      Its poor design.
      Disney did it right, adding a seat in the back for Tron. Universal should have taken the opportunity during 2020/2021 to add bigger seating to the Harry Potter rides and Disney with Flight of Passage.
      Its not always a "fat" issues, its bars not fitting over calves, bigger chests, longer legs, being tall, etc....but these same people can ride all the other fast rides I listed above.
      Can most of stand to lose some weight, absolutely.....but there is no reason everyone cant ride "Flight of Passage" if you can fit on "Soaring".
      Again, bad design.

    • @Mrwatson185
      @Mrwatson185 Год назад +11

      @@mithrandir1572 different rides have different parameters. Designing rides for outlier cases is not feasible in many instances and engineers prioritize safety over everything.
      Is it poor design to have height minimums? Again, safety is and always should be top priority. If there is a size limit or minimum you can guarantee there is a good reason for it.

    • @Hammerstone89
      @Hammerstone89 Год назад +9

      @@mithrandir1572 the rides you mentioned are way different in general with basically just a lap bar, which is much more flexible for someone who is obese. Unfortunately there will always be losers for those who are too tall/short but the restrictions are in place for obvious reasons. The poor lad who died at Icon Park exceeded the weight amount and then wasn’t secured properly, so these rules are there for a reason. Perhaps on some rides there should be altered seats as an option, but a line has to be drawn as a ride operator/designer. Whilst somethings can’t be altered IE height, if someone makes the conscious choice to have a poor diet and shovel crap in their mouth and then pile on weight, it dosent come with an entitlement to have everyone adapt to it

    Glad Dakota had a great time. I'm a tiny person too and when I rode it for the passholder previews and my fiance had to lift me up himself to help me get into the seat. The air time for me was crazy because my feet lifted up so much more. I rode the middle and the last row and if Dakota wants more airtime that's where I would recommend riding. Great video! I love this coaster as my first standing coaster I ever rode.

    the heart wrenching moment when you are off by just a bit. recently gloiath at great america was like that for me, seemed like i might make the lap restraint but the belt wouldnt go around me. and wasnt sure if they had a larger belt and wasnt going to sit in a long line just to walk of shame again. instead...weight loss goal time and return knowing i will make it.
    and i think these parks if they dont already would make a killing with locker passes for season or one day. especially parks that offer large prizes from games. a locker to put it in would save people walking back out to their cars to put those large items away and then walking back into the park. i for one would pay for a day or season locker pass to store items in while i roamed the park. would keep me in their longer past when my legs get tired.

    I appreciate you doing these videos, but I gotta tell you, having to have a ride attendant push on it to make it work is a no go for me. I did that once with Shockwave years ago at Six Flags and I couldn’t even enjoy the ride because I felt like I was putting so much pressure on the restraint. I prayed the whole ride it wouldn’t force open and I tumble out or something. I’d suggest waiting a few months before attempting it. To be a “hair” from the restraint locking just doesn’t seem all that safe to me.
