Oh man this must be so awesome for the guys at SeaWorld and especially those at B&M, seeing that taking this risk actually paid off and everybody being so enthusiastic about it :D
Also, 12:20 I was literally thinking the same thing!! Like, that huge curve the track has to do to go around that heartline offset - that... just tickles my coasterbrain so much XDD
IKR! he tends to show up at most FL media day events videos and it makes me smile every time. he is such a fun guy, although it makes me sad they haven't gotten him out to more rides yet. hopefully how that his family is settled in he can do more again.
Rode it last night. Very underrated and surprising as everyone said. I generally like the old stand up coasters, but this one is totally different. The standing airtime is like no other coaster experience. A great fit for this park as it’s intense enough for enthusiasts but still family-friendly and just all-around fun!
Skateboards and Snowboards could also be themes, though not much different than surfing... But if you think of the "bouncing" as "jumping" then Universal could make a killer Mario coaster!
Pipeline may be one of the few coaster models that actually thrives on drawn out elements. It definitely made the experience more comfortable versus your standard stand up coaster.
It's good to see the coaster is receiving positive recognition. The initial comments after the announcement to built it have been mainly negative and I could not understand it. Now SeaWorld and B&M have introduced a completely new kind of coaster experience appealing a wider audience (which was exactly the goal). Like the fitting and friendly colour scheme, too. Maybe it will remain a niche type of coaster, but B&M also could step it up a bit and create an airtime monster version.
Im pretty sure the reason the media got to ride only once, is because in fact, they were very judgemental, and that was seaworlds way of saying they didnt appreciate it, maybe now people will learn not to judge something before they actually experience it, just my opinion, rode it 3 times myself, great ride, kudos to Seaworld and B&M!!
This is like a who's who of RUclips coaster enthusiasts in this video with Tim Tracker, Weird Beard Dan from Midway Mayhem, and others! You can tell that Taylor and Sarah went out and bought those Hawaiian shirts just to ride this coaster. They'll probably never wear them again, unless they go to a Luau party.
Does it not? I can't tell, because they didn't address that issue. The animation makes it look like the restraints force you to bounce, and the only way I can think that the restraints can force bouncing is via your junk.
@@OklahomaCoasterFan What happens is the forces of the ride lift your body up and the restraints up at the same time, and vice versa. The restraints move up and down freely.
Even though the model is called a “surf coaster” I’m hoping that B&M sells maybe a few of the stand-up versions, and then transitions to a seated model with MACK like trains so that the lap-bar and seat are together instead of there hyper coaster trains where they are independent from another.
With this coaster, And Mandrill Mayhem at chessington, B&M Are Really Going for Unique layouts! (And more launch coasters) Hope we see more of the Surf coaster (And More of their other launched models) And i wonder, Will we see a sit down version of this open? (A Version of the surf coaster, Moving seats and all) Was patented A While back) What if we saw a version of Momonga Standing and Loop Coaster? (Transfer track and a choice of sit down or stand up) Intrested to see where this model goes!
Seems like it’ll be a great coaster and hopefully as more rides happen it stays just as well as it is today and doesn’t crap the bed. Going to easily be 2-3+ hour waits especially since Mako is closed when it’s open to the public
The trains themselves maybe not. But if they could design a retrofit version of the vertical column and seat maybe they could sell kits to retrofit the old trains.
These trains on any pre existing stand up is a terrible idea. Even with no maintenance issues, the trains would cut the capacity in half which automatically negates any benefit that it would possibly have
This would be a perfect replacement for Xpress Platform 13 at Walibi Holland in a few years. They can make an awesome layout over the lake, and it'd be a launch coaster replacing a launch coaster. Tbh I don't think Walibi has B&M money but a man can dream
This looks like a lot of fun! Sadly, I'm bordering on 78-79 inches tall :( I wish I could ride it, but it seems like many new coasters are placing height restrictions. I'm only 17, so I'm still gonna grow too. Maybe if I walk with bent knees I can get on...
Im worried about the sand next to the launch track. That could cause alot of damage if the wind goes the wrong way. Its fine samd aswell so it will get in everything. Unless they cover the track when they know theres going to be high winds.
B&M has developed a reputation for design conservatism lately--I think, in part, because parks usually go to them for a sure thing; really not a bad reputation to have... but when they do go out on a limb a little, people think they've gone mad. They seem to know what they're doing, though. I'm an old guy with one metal knee and I think I'm past ever aspiring to ride a conventional stand-up coaster that deals in positives and intensity. This one, though, I could probably do.
Still think Wipeout would've been the better name but its so great to see it just exceeding expectations across the board. I really hope B&M can sell some of these, especially to Europe. As for my own experience with stand up coasters, I've only ridden a single one. Shockwave at Drayton Manor. Which honestly might be one of the most comparable to pipeline just from looking at it. Shockwave is also not super reliant on positive G's and though its old Intamin restraints give much less adjustment than this probably does, it still allowed me to have a decent amount of flexibility to enjoy the G's and the floatyness of its inversions. Though whats on Shockwave still looks like nothing compared to just pure floating in the air on Pipeline. Like B&M, rename the Surf coaster to the Flying coaster. You get to fly much more on these than actual flying coasters
And how many parks have a water park in them? Or for that matter, how many 6 Flags would be better off with a beach themed area? This thing just looks awesome.
I don't know the theme for it but... King Kobra 2.0 For Kings Island? (Or shockwave 2.0 For Kings Dominion) Or even Give one to Alton towers and Theme it to their Tropical hotel? (It's next to a car park that Has been Speculated to be removed in place of a new area)
not a chance, first of all Riddler's is fine the way it is. Its pretty easy to get in a comfortable position. More importantly using these trains would cut the capacity in half which is an absolutely terrible idea.
@@Lloyd00 I agree that Riddlers is fine the way it is, but it would be cool if they added those trains while maintaining capacity. Six Flags strategy the last few years has been to revamp rides rather than making big new stuff. Just thought it was an interesting idea.
@Theshiznitman I agree, I just don't see that being a possibility. I'm not an engineer but i don't think those trains are designed to run with 4 riders per row vs 2
@@Lloyd00 They could potentially develop trains with 4 riders per row. The current trains already move in a similar motion then lock up, they could just allow a little freedom during the ride. Doesn't seem impossible to me.
@Theshiznitman if they do then the actual problem becomes how would the trains handle the layout. Classic stand ups are monster inversion machines, especially riddlers. Looking at pipeline doesn't really give you any evidence that the trains would be able to handle the old ones

Tony Hawk's Big Skate, Coming Soon to Six flags!

I applaud B&M for taking the risk. It seems like the stand-up coaster will be alive and well pretty soon.
Tim Tracker in a Coaster Studios video?! That’s awesome!

We can take the hurricane, and push it somewhere else.
That idea...
Would get us all into good weather
I can see one of these coming to Canada's Wonderland themed to snowboarding.
B&M could theme these standups to surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding or no theme at all tbh. I hope more pop up in the future

You have me excited for this!
Gonna have to travel to Orlando at some point and ride this, I haven't done many coasters but this looks fun.
Sleeper hit coaster of the year, we need more of these
That there's something innovative and unique at a park I've been to millions of times is wild
it is such a fun coaster! the last s hill is probably my favorite part!
Just watched Tim's video and funny to see him in your vlog. Great vlog!
I love how the B&M turnarounds are everywhere yet they don't really have a name other than "turnaround".
Manta is incredible, once in a lifetime experience. You feel like your flying!
SW SA needs a surf coaster, SA always gets the short end of the stick out of the 3 parks and yet it has the most land to use.
Six Flags if they add this to one of their parks: Introducing Auqaman: The Surf Coaster
As for other themes, I think a sci-fi/space theme makes sense. The bouncing seats could represent moon walking or other gravity shenanigans.

B&M needs to put these trains on a hyper and it needs to be themed after one of those zero-G training planes.
Wow they went from Dollywood to Seaworld Orlando in only 3 hours :O
Honestly I think you could theme this in a bunch of different ways! Some sort of chase/runaway theme or something space theme would work well I think
A magic carpet theme would be perfect
I feel like a snowboarding theme would work for this ride model
Skiing
Yeah ski sports would be cool. I could also see some kind of sci fi theme maybe. Like idk hoverboards maybe idk. Possibly skateboarding too.
Haven’t watched yet but I’m so excited❤
A How To Train Your Dragon theme could work. Like "learning to fly" when Hiccup flies besides Toothless with the flying squirrel suit.
James counted how many times he went on Pipelines 😂
6:28 why does it look so slow here but so fast in the reaction video?
snowboarding, skateboarding, roller skating, skiing. Watch them put a snowboarding themed one at San Diego.

How did you get on it ? I was there the other day and they said only testers are riding it :(
Surf’s Up Dudes!!!
So do you think other seaworld parks are getting a new B&M standup like pipeline?
When I see Pipeline the colours are almost identical to Shockwave at Drayton Manor which is also a Standup coaster but by intamin.
I’m gonna Ride The New Zamperla Wild Mouse At Cedar Point today
Maybe coming to San Diego
Here's a better idea: instead of replacing standup coasters, refurbish them and give them surf coaster trains? Vortex at Carowinds should be first!
The station would need a huge redo and the capacity will take a hit

My new dream roller coaster is Disney making a Lilo and Stitch themed surf coaster with on ride audio of Hawaiian Coaster Ride
They could be themed to KANGAROOS . The surf coasters could.
Hey Coaster Studios! What did the dispatches look like for this coaster? Are they comparable to the old generation of stand-ups, or more improved?
It’s SeaWorld. Knowing these guys they probably take four minutes to get out a single train. I’d like to be surprised though.
Perhaps a Snow Ski Slolam theme.

Concept idea: Universal combats surf coaster by adding silver surfer coaster in marvel super hero island
Surf, skateboard, snowboard, skiing… just sport themes I guess.
Bring back King Cobra at Kings Island with this model.

Cool.
Efteling should build one
skating in the underground at SFMM
downside is capacity kinda sucks, so regardless how good it might be its super unlikely that they would use those trains on other stand ups
If The Silver Surfer was DC instead of Marvel, Six Flags could use that as a theme for this type of rollercoaster.
thats a cool idea maybe universal will do that
You could maybe do a Flash theme. You’d just have to pitch it as a tool invented to allow Flash you bring you along with him at super speed.

theme it to basketball game like slam dunk or layups
