Dolly is a national treasure. I like the new trend of family coasters that are highly-themed, fast, twisty, and low to the ground; a good step between kiddie coasters and more extreme rides.
Ive met Dolly a few times and she is by far one of the sweetest human beings i've ever met. So happy that she still takes pride in every new attraction at the park.
I am so glad that we are in a new era where family coasters don't have to be boring. Can't wait to see what it'll look like once there will be more vegetatation around.
Dolly Parton.., a icon in the country music industry a humanitarian and beautiful person she's been for decades! you can't beat better theme music for that roller coaster with her singing it.
The interaction between you guys and Benjamin Bear was so cute and wholesome. Its hard not to have a little moment when seeing Dolly in person. I love that she wrote a song about Big Bear Mountain.
You must be American…Im from Europe and I must admit I almost spit coffee on my phone when I saw her in this video. She is a sweetheart, but to say that she doesnt age is ridiculous. She looks exactly what she is. 77 years old having done an obscene amount of plastic surgery.
@@MikkelJankovic you’re right! I am American. And I live in California so I’ve seen it all..including 77 year old women with BAD plastic surgery! Again I say, SHE LOOKS GREAT!!!
This level of love and happiness surrounding what will be some youngster's first real roller coaster ever nearly brings a tear to my eye. This is what life should be.
Dolly Parton is a national treasure and so adorable! This ride looks so fun and I cannot wait to get down to Dollywood sometime so I can check it out. Thanks for the great video and I'm glad you guys liked the coaster! =)
Wow the first shot you have directly after the Dolly performance was absolutely one of the best pieces of coaster footage I’ve seen you guys capture. Tremendous job. What a beautiful looking ride on film.
Dolly Parton. Just like Betty White. Will work every day she is around and cares so much about everything she is involved in. Also just want to say your Coaster Studios polo shirts look great.
I’m so jealous! Dolly is such an icon! How awesome she came for the opening and even sang a song about the bear of big bear mountain! I cannot wait to get out there and ride 😊
I rode it the last week of June. It was a great ride. It was pretty hot that day but the line moved along at a decent pace. This by far one of my favorites. I stopped riding coasters years ago due to neck and vertigo issues. The initial takeoff was a bit of a dizzy moment but after that it was excellent! This will probably be the last coaster I ride and if it is I went out with a roar. Great ride!
Got to ride it on Saturday. Opened at 1pm to the public me and my kids got in line at 12:20 they open early and only had to wait about 30 min. We got off the ride a little before 1pm ride was awesome, as we were leaving, now the line was at least 60-90 minutes, glad we got in line when we did
Dolly energy is what Disney parks are missing. She doesn’t even ride these coasters, but you can tell she is passionate about this family coaster. Even drops some old Davey Crockett rhymes down.
0:27 Sarah: I love vekoma Taylor: *Flashbacks to the blue hawk and Vekoma Flying dutchman parodies* btw for a family coaster it looks very fast 12:04 Benjamin bear i believe is based on Benjamin Bloemendaal. The layout designer of vekoma.
It looks lovely! I feel like it wouldve been a nice touch if at the end you passed through a cave with the bear in it. But overall a fantastic family coaster regardless!
I went Saturday took about 50 minutes to get through the line by the time I got off the extended queue was full and it was over 60 minutes. Enjoyed the ride but my four year old was scared thinking she would “see big bear”. We hit the breaks and said we didn’t even see him we need to go find him again. I don’t particularly like the restraints as it was awkward to ride when it came to leg placement. I found the most comfortable position is to extend your leg as far as you can forward then pull down the restraints. Still enjoy a park that I can ride so many bigger rides with my daughter! Keep it up Dollywood!
Went to D.W. on Mon. 5/15/23 and TimeSaver passes for Big Bear are closed/not available until mid week of 5/21/23 (likely Wed. 5/24/23 or Thurs. 5/25/23) Hosts mentioned they are still getting their "Bear-ings" with loading the ride and no TimeSaver holders will be allowed for about 10 days. Check with staff before purchasing a TimeSaver pass if you're wanting to skip the line on this ride. (Rode 3 times and waited 42, 57, and 34 minutes each time but it's definitely an amazing coaster!) Que does move fast and Hope this helps someone...
Drove 12 hours for the trilogy parks. Was hoping to see you guys but it was closed for public until 230! Great time, great ride, and Lightening Rod cleared all the other coasters on the trip. INSANE!
Sorta on an off topic note, I rode DarKoaster today, and it was very underwhelming. Waited in queue for 2 hours just for it to be a mediocre ride. You guys are not missing anything lol.
I used to dislike family coasters but strangely as i age i like them kids need a first coaster i just wish something like this existed when i was a kid
There are only two celebrities that don't come off as egomaniacs for having their own theme park. 40-50+ years from now, people will marvel about anyone that got to see Dolly at Dollywood the way people saw Walt at Disneyland in the 50’s and 60’s
She should make it to 100 no problem, but I hear ya.
@@jaya1000how old do you think Dolly Parton is?? In 43 years she would be 120, not just 100. Lol

Love to see that dolly is still so involved in the park. Even writing a song just for the ride.
"Still"?
The park was renamed after her.

Dolly Parton being so dedicated to her own park and yet disliking riding roller coasters is hilariously sweet to me
Not unlike Ed Hart.

It’s so impressive to me that Dolly Parton writes a new song for every roller coaster she opens.
This one is the theme song from the old "Davy Crockett" TV show, but her new lyrics are funny.
That footage is stunning!
Dolly is in her Late 70’s and yet she sounds 100 times better than me 😂😂😂
Dolly is such a sweetheart 😂
I´m here for the coaster of course, but man, how can you not love Dolly!
