Thank you man. This should really help people. Last year I couldn’t fit on either Harry Potter, me being 6’6, 345lbs. I was devastated. I’m losing weight just to ride this time. Hopefully you’re there and we can ride together after we’ve both lost the weight! 💪🏾
I'm also 6'6. Were there rides that seemed too short regardless of your weight? All those shin bracers that lock your knees in seem very one-size-fits-all. :(
Universal is TOO restrictive with the seats. It's ridiculous. I am nowhere near chubby in any way but even *I* for a second worried that I might not fit in the seats on "Escape from Gringotts." It was VERY tight. What I find so aggravating is that there is no need for the shin pads. They could remove them and it would make the ride much more accommodating to large guests. Big boned guests are going to have just as much trouble this ride if they're over 6' tall.
For measurement purposes, I am 5'11" and when I went to Universal in February 2021 I was about 330lbs. (Measurements below) I was able to get on a good bit of the rides. Of the rides at Universal Studios and IOA the only rides I 100% could not ride were: 1. Hagrid's Motrobike Adventure (My thighs were too big to get the bar down -- approximately 33in around while sitting) 2. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (I felt like a sardine in a can because of my shoulders) 3. Doctor Doom's Fearfall (If you have childbearing hips and a medium - large frame....forget it) I went on all of the other rides EXCEPT Flight of the Hippogriff, simply because I didn't want to ride it, and Popeye & Bluto's Barges, because it was closed. These are my current measurements **Keep in mind I did these whilst SITTING because it gives a more accurate measurement while sitting on the rides.** Current weight: 305lbs Bust: 52in Waist (with largest part of belly): 56.75in Hips: 56in Thighs: 33in Hope this helps!
The fact that the tests seats inside Forbidden Journey were different than the ones outside is unacceptable. Once you get the green light and get in line, you shouldn’t have to worry about getting on. That needs to be established before getting in line. I’ve had this issue twice with Hagrids. If I get the red light outside that’s fine. That’s on me. But a green light outside should guarantee you’ll get on once you wait in line.
That was my train of thought with Mako. Test seat closed just fine and my boyfriend even had to press down on the lever to release me lol but then on the actual ride it wouldn’t go down 😢 I was so embarrassed.
I saw a few rides had a notice that guests of certain “body dimensions” may not be accommodated and guests with waists of at least 40” to test test seats. I saw a lot of videos, but most lacked in some of the critical information I needed for my mind to be at ease. Hopefully this will help some people. Waist (belt): 46” Waist (belly button): 51” Chest (no arms): 49” Chest (arms): 56” Thighs (sat): 53” Height: 5’ 9” Weight: 245 Escape from Gringotts: Rode several time. Thighs were a little tight, but not painful in anyway. Forbidden Journey: Rode twice. Arms we a little tight, but didn’t restrict my ability to ride. Hagrid Magical Creatures: Tested both be vehicles. Ride motorbike twice. No discomfort riding the ride, and presumably no issue fitting. Revenge of the Mummy: Rode once. Little tight on the thighs. Rode with no issues worth mentioning: VelociCoaste: Doctor Dooms Freefall Hulk Race through New York Did not ride or attempt to ride Rip Ride Rock It
Same here I hope they invite him and some of the very small vloggers with at least 500 subscribers as well. I find that some of the bigger vloggers are so fake and don't tell the truth. Universal Studios and Disney Parks should acknowledge these small guys. And fans like you and me should go and support these smaller guys too.
I have the most thunderous of thighs and am always terrified to try roller coasters because I don't want to be told I don't fit in front of all those people. Thank you so much for your videos! They have calmed so many of my fears!
Try the seats again when you get down to 270. I think you will fit some and that would be a great reward for your hard work and keep you motivated to continue. Love your videos and good luck!
I appreciate this so much. I went to six flags with my friend who is literally a model and size zero. Because I have thick thighs I got us kicked off Goliath and I literally cried in the bathroom after. My dad is also really tall with mobility issues so seeing someone go through these roller coaster seats to save us embarrassment is so comforting and helpful. I wish you the best with your weight loss man you’re the best!
This video is so helpful. As a fat person I was terrified to go to Universal because I was around 300lbs and I know how the park isn't fat friendly at all. These kinds of videos are really a God send. Watching you not fit into Forbidden Journey was heartbreaking, that's how I felt when I couldn't fit into The Mummy. Good luck on your journey, I am on one too. We can do it!!!
@@melyvalencia3463 ugh I know that feeling but no, that was the only one I didn’t make. My bf struggled with Dudley Do Right but it was because he’s tall and was very squished in the boat. I hope you have the best time!
Great video! We both used to be 350 lbs and couldn’t ride a lot of the rides at the theme parks. This video will go a long way toward helping people who are challenged by being heavier.
Keep pushing, dude. You looked so excited to get on Forbidden Journey, I was so happy for you. You'll get there bro, looking forward to seeing you on FJ come Christmas.
Adrian, I can't tell you how much I admire your willingness to post all of these videos. I did very well at WDW recently; the only problematic rides were Avatar and the bikes on Tron (barely) and I got the WOS on Avatar after making the outside seat work., but I have GIGANTIC calves and they were 100% the problem. I'm VERY worried about Universal, so thank you for this.
Thats awesome congrats on you're journey!!I actually just went to Universal from mn.and i went from 319 to 306 and was in fear of not fitting on the rides but I was able to make it on everything. Keep up the great work Adrian!
Keep it up bud! I’m on the same journey. Started at 347 and have lost 70 lbs so far😃 I also have had the same experience on forbidden journey green light outside and no go inside and haven’t tried again. Thank you so much for doing these videos😃👍
Hey Ben. I’m on the same journey of the weight lost. Congratulations on the loss of weight. How did you do it? I’m going to universal this August and I’m trying to lose the weight so i can go on the rides with my daughter. It will be disappointing if I can’t ride with her.
Kill it bro! Buddy of mine that works in Diagon alley is on the same journey. Hoping to hit all the rides with him able to fit by next year. Stay determined.
Adrian, Thank you so much for this video. Really good information to know. Especially the fact that some of the test seats are inconsistent with the actual ride.
I can't wait to ride gringotts. I'm a large person also, but I'm also on a journey to lose enough weight by Christmas to ride. Thank you for your honesty and look forward to your test seat tries at the other universal Park.
Hey buddy. Nice job on losing more timber. Dr Doom did used to have seat belts but took them off because they felt it was wasted time and the manufacturer said they would have to have a tighter restriction. I had issues with Forbidden Journey too. I knew the test seats were not accurate and got a green light on both of them but when getting onto the ride it wouldn't allow it. The staff don't even allow anyone in your party to give it a little extra! I know they say it is stapling but it should be down to individual to decide. You made a comment about universal not being to blame for the inaccurate test seats. YES IT IS MOST CERTAINLY THEIR FAULT! having test seats should be accurate and on forbidden, gringots and Hagrids they are very inconsistent test seats. Never apologise for something that is is clearly Universal error! Other than that you're doing a damn good job. Very inspirational and once Covid has F***ed off ill be joining you for a ride on Velocicoaster!!!!
i am so grateful for these videos, its hard finding videos like “riding rides as a fat person,” my state fair is going on and as a 5’5 260 pound girl im very scared😭
Thanks for the helpful video, Adrian and Koda. It’s obvious that you care about your viewers and subscribers! You’re on your way to achieving your goal and we’re so proud of all you’re accomplishing! Thanks for bringing us along.
I used your tips on how to best fit on Hagrid’s ride & yes I fit. Thank you for that video. I know u can drop the weight you’re ready & motivated. U got this
This is such a great service! Thanks so much for making this video! We were thinking of going to Universal this March but I'm thinking now we should wait till I lose some more weight as I don't think I'd fit on the rides based on what you've shown here. I love that you really were in-depth and showed the seats, especially what a green would look like even if you didn't fit. I hope your weight loss journey is going well! :)
Thank you for doing this! Ive lost 20 pounds so far with the goal of being able to lose more to ride more rides when things get back to normal! and these kind of videos help me!! thank you
Thank you for the video, my husband and I are losing weight for our trip in March!! He started at 315 and down to 255 right now!! Can’t wait to see ur next videos when u lose the weight, You got this!!
Thank you so much for this my sister and I are heading down this weekend and she has never ridden hagrids so this is great info to help her be sure she can ride too!
Thanks for making this video. I'm a big guy myself, 6ft 2 360 right now. I wish someone would have made a video like this before. I have found that I can't ride several of the most popular rides at Universal. On the flipside, I have never found anything at Walt Disney World that I can't ride. I have started a weigh loss journey myself. I want to ride the Hulk and the Harry Potter rides so bad. I will also say when I was around 300 I still couldn't ride Hulk, Doom, or any of the Potter rides, because the shoulder bars wouldn't go down over my shoulders. So I think my height is a hinderance too. I wish there was someone tall that tested the seats too. If anyone knows of a video like that please let me know. I guess I don't want to get my hopes up that I will be able to ride some of my favorites when I lose weight. Thanks again and know that I am with you on this journey. Good Luck!!!
Everyone refuses to get on Dr. Doom's Fearfall more than once!! I rode it this weekend for the first time, and I agree with you. Not gonna get on it again! My friend's have the same opinion! 😂😂
This is the sort of really useful vlogs that I wish more of your "competitors" would do. Information rather than just silliness. Good luck on your journey!
Thank you so much for this video! I am on a weight loss journey as well, and am always afraid to go to amusement parks, as I'm afraid my being too large to ride certain attractions will be so, very humiliating. I appreciate your honesty and positive outlook. May God help you on this journey; I wish you only the best!
Thanks so much for this video. I’m travelling in Jan from Australia and worried about the sizes so I’m also trying to lose some weight before the trip. I didn’t realise the staff don’t go around and give everyone’s seats a little extra push to make sure it’s locked in properly. All the rides I’ve ridden in Aus the staff at the rides always check the make sure it’s fitted properly
Thank you for making these videos because they are so helpful. About a year ago I went to universal and didn't fit into the Doctor Doom vertical launch ride and it was so embarrassing so thank you for posting these types of videos so people are aware :)
in skull island if your tall tall with long legs it with touch the seat in front of you and it will knock against it other then that you still can fit in the row , im 5.9 and i have knee room and leg room , i have thicker legs, my brother is 6.2 AND his knees touch the wall in front of him if your not in the first row
Hey there! First I want to say thank you so much for all your vids! I wish I had these videos in 2019 when I visited WDW and Universal Orlando! Anyway! I wanted to say that I had the same experience in Harry Potter's forbidden journey. The conversation was very similar. "Is that okay for you? Ok. You're good, just let them know you were good up front".... But when we got to the ride itself embarrassingly enough I didn't fit!! Luckily I had an amazing bigger cast member help escort me off and was super sweet and gave me express passes. Let me just say because of all that, that truly depressed me all day that day. Universal needs to change that seat. 😔😔😔
Hey, congrats on your weight loss so far. Keep up the good work! Just curious if you don’t mind, how tall are you? I’m 280, but 6’2 so generally don’t have as much issues since stretched out
Thank you these awesome videos. Wish this was about in 2018 when I was on holiday in Orlando. May have spurred me onto losing a few extra pounds. But following your experience is going to be great for me before my hopeful holiday in Dec 2022.
These videos are so helpful and useful for a larger person to watch. On the flip side im actually really worried now; I thought next september would give me enough time to lose enough weight to get on the rides (especially harry potter!) Now watching this im concerned i dont have enough time to lose the weight. However on the flipside again, im going hard-core on the diet and exercise from tomorrow!
Sadly I've gained a lot of weight over the years and I'm not able to ride the coasters anymore... But I have ridden "the goose" and instead of 5 seats its a 4 seater. There isn't that much extra room but I did sit in the back. Also when I went on forbidden journey years ago I didn't fit upstairs but they took me to another loading area where they take wheelchairs and they were able to get me on at a slower speed.
Also, the seat belt at Bilge Rat Barges can be difficult. It is on the side, which can force you to turn and be unable to fit. They used to have seatbelt extenders, but for some reason they stopped offering them after they reopened.
That stinks you got the green but couldn’t get on it. That’s rough. You are an inspiration. I started weight watchers 2 months ago and I’ve lost 30 pounds so far.
Excellent, honest & helpful video. Keep rockin' the journey! Proud of you! Would the opposite of this video be Nugget staring in what not to ride with tiny forces? ha, ha. Stay well :)
This channel was made for me! I love how real you are. I completely understand everything you say. I have visited Disney/Universal at 5' 8" 330 lbs as well as 5' 8" 280 lbs. At 330 I couldn't fit on anything. Even at 280 I didn't make it on Hagrid and that was mainly because of my large thighs. Your weight loss motivation is the same as mine! Rollercoasters! We're headed to Dollywood in 3 weeks.... How do you think I'll do on Lightning Rod at 5' 8" ~290? Hard to say? Anyone else?
i’m 250 and it was extremely hard for me to fit. i fought with the seatbelt for a good 5 minutes before i was able to buckle it in and it was so humiliating and ruined the rest of the experience for me. i was too scared to go on most of the rides in case that happened again. lightning rod and dollywood in general are not fat friendly AT ALL so i would say you can try, just prepare for the fact that you might not fit :-(
Thank you for making this. I have never been but am not a roller coaster person so most of these I will probably skip but there isn’t much description about what the rides actually do.
I'm going to magic kingdom, universal and islands of adventures in September on my birthday.. I lost 22 pounds so far ! I weighted 287 before my last year trip and now I'm at 267.4 this year. My butt and I think my thighs were my problem with some of the rides and my bottom stomach also. But I got time ! My best for myself and you on trips is, just eat healthy and workout tbh while you're on vacation so you or myself wont get embarrassed. Last year trip at sea world and island of adventures I couldn't fit on some of the rides bc of my weight. I was sad and hurt because I wanted to go on the rides that I saw and love so its hard when you feel like u eating bad food makes you cant even go on your fav rides smfh. but, question i have is, How much should I drop if I'm going on the rides ! I'm at 268.6
You can do it!!! Fight the urge to quit! Also will you be doing another video like this at Universal Studios, Disney, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. I think these will be great video and I love how you actually use yourself to model instead of just talking about it. A lot of people are visual learners like me
I'm a chubby bear from Australia, bout 138kgs when I was there last. I found that rip rocket test seats would give me the green light but then the actual ride seats were way off. The attendant luckily was happy to jam that thing down but boy was there a difference.
Thanks alot for the video. You're so brave to do this videos, I'll probably would be to shy or embarassed. I actualy whent to Universal Studios Hollywood last week and I was able to get on Jurrasic Park the ride and the Simpsons the ride. But I had to ask the employees before I whent in if they thought I was able to fit because in this Universal studios they don't have those Test seats or the only Ride I saw that had one was The Mummy the ride and I didn't fit on the seat. Im 5'9" and I weight 355lbs. They should have all those Seats like inside a room for you won't go thru the embarassment trying it out in front of people. lol. Y felicidades con tu mision de bajar peso, sigue echandole ganas. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Saludos desde Inglewood, CA. ✌🏼
5' 9", 300 pounds. Last time I went I could NOT ride HP Forbidden Journey, but I could ride everything else I wanted to, including Gringotts. (Hagrid's ride hasn't been opened yet, but I'm guessing I would be able to fit on the motorcycle on that.)
Thank you man. This should really help people. Last year I couldn’t fit on either Harry Potter, me being 6’6, 345lbs. I was devastated. I’m losing weight just to ride this time. Hopefully you’re there and we can ride together after we’ve both lost the weight! 💪🏾

You can try parks in your pocket. Not much content post Covid but I believe dave is 6'8 and 360ish
@@jeffcassidy2309 Thanks. I just found it.
Everyone refuses to get on Dr. Doom's Fearfall more than once!! I rode it this weekend for the first time, and I agree with you. Not gonna get on it again! My friend's have the same opinion! 😂😂
So helpful! I’m about your size so I really hope I can fit Hagrid too. I got them thick thighs 😅
I really appreciate these videos, thanks for putting them together.
You got this man. Youre killing this diet. Keep up the good work
This is the sort of really useful vlogs that I wish more of your "competitors" would do.
Thank you so much for this video. Wanted to give you a hug I hope you know you are a strong person. Great content and good luck on your journey.
Thank you for doing this for everyone. Very helpful information.
I saw you and Kota Monday at UO and I wanted to say hey but you guys looked like you were on a mission and I low key froze 😂😂😂
You've got this! I'm sending you good vibes!
Do you still do live streams
Thank you for making these videos because they are so helpful. About a year ago I went to universal and didn't fit into the Doctor Doom vertical launch ride and it was so embarrassing so thank you for posting these types of videos so people are aware :)
in skull island if your tall tall with long legs it with touch the seat in front of you and it will knock against it other then that you still can fit in the row , im 5.9 and i have knee room and leg room , i have thicker legs, my brother is 6.2 AND his knees touch the wall in front of him if your not in the first row
What was the name of the larger boat on Dudley Do Right--deuce? Zeus?
Thank you! I appreciate this so much!
That was useful information. Thank you for sharing .
Amazing video, this helps a lot! Well done! For big guys this is super helpful!!
Very helpful, thanks.
They used to have seatbelt extenders, but for some reason they stopped offering them after they reopened.
will you be doing an updated version for the 3 new orlando area coasters? (iron gwazi, ice breaker, volocicoaster)
Absolutely
thank you
Thanks for posting this
What size is ur waistline
I absolutely love your videos Good luck on your weight loss journey
This is a very helpful and thoughtful video! Good luck on your weight loss journey man! :)
That stinks you got the green but couldn’t get on it. That’s rough. You are an inspiration. I started weight watchers 2 months ago and I’ve lost 30 pounds so far.
Why do u refuse to do dr dooms again :)?
I recommend you go to a petfted forest near Altamonte Springs all guest were wearing mask and keeping 6 feet
Thank you!!!
Thanks for this video. Keep up the weight loss journey. Sending Positives Vibes. It is to easy to get down on yourself.
Anyone else?
i’m 250 and it was extremely hard for me to fit. i fought with the seatbelt for a good 5 minutes before i was able to buckle it in and it was so humiliating and ruined the rest of the experience for me. i was too scared to go on most of the rides in case that happened again. lightning rod and dollywood in general are not fat friendly AT ALL so i would say you can try, just prepare for the fact that you might not fit :-(
actually i think back when i went a year ago i was 230. but i have huge thunder thighs lol
also they do not have test seats
I'll prepare mentally lol
Thank you so, so much for this. I can't believe how small their restrictions are!
Hagrid’s is so odd. I couldn’t get the green on the bike but got the sidecar just fine.
Congratulations on losing the weight. It takes a real man to commit to a better life. I wish you every success. Keep the great videos coming.
Super Helpful thanks for taking one for the big boys
Your fat friendly videos is how first found your channel. Back to the basics.
A lot of people are visual learners like me
I never realized how much of an issue this was. We're proud of you and you will get there!
I'm a chubby bear from Australia, bout 138kgs when I was there last. I found that rip rocket test seats would give me the green light but then the actual ride seats were way off. The attendant luckily was happy to jam that thing down but boy was there a difference.
I probably can fit on Dr. Dooms Fear Fall, Power Tower at Cedar Point has Ranchet restrains.
Thank you for showing us this.
This was so invaluable. Thank you guys so much for doing this. Are these rides even made for “American bodies”?!?!
