The very last scene when he cries in front of the fire is my favourite. You can see every emotion on his face, sadness obviously but also anger and when he smiles, probably remembering everything again, and all of that with his face covered in tears... Amazing. He truly knows how to act ! I’m getting forward to seeing him in other movies in the future !
(Edit : And if he acts in a french movie I will still be able to see it since I’m french ! ✌️)
In my top 5 film endings of all time
They actually gave Timothée an earpiece for this scene, so he could hear the song and really experience the atmospehere (:
I think it was not only the remembrance of all the moments. I felt like Elio was giving the feeling that every time somebody will call him by his name he will be hurting and feeling all of those emotions again during this scene. So heartbreaking.
I cried ,honestly 😭😖
especially, in the last seconds, when he looks right into the camera, giving the impresion he tells the audience…you lived something like that in your life, isn'it? you understand?
"he just stand there and he's.. better than anyone I know" looool very true
This movie got so much backlash for the age difference , but all I see is a beautiful movie with amazing soundtrack and emotional acting.
stan min yoongi I wasn’t even bothered about the age difference really, I was just curious
TheTrophyMunchers. The backlash was because ten out of fifty US states have an age of consent of 18, but many dumb Americans think it is 18 everywhere. The other forty states + Canada + Europe are all required to obey the laws of those ten states, apparently.
In Italy (where it was filmed and where it takes place) the legal age of consent is 14. Elio is 17.
You have to take into consideration most Americans think that the world is 50 states
yup, where i live its 15
The Dads speech makes me cry everytime. This is such a beautiful story ❤
I remember that in an interview, they mentioned that Timothée went to Crema (the town in italy, where they filmed the movie) 4 weeks early to practice the piano, learn to play the guitar and of course learn italian. When Armie arrived, parts of the movie actually became true, like Timmy showing Armie around, where everything was and stuff like that (: They also mentioned that because they filmed it abroard, they didn't really felt this pressure; they could completely absorb the feeling this movie is trying to convey and in the end, bring it to the screen so unbelievably raw and well
This film got Oscar for best Adapted screenplay. Was disappointed when it did not win Oscar for best film, best actor and best original song. Well atleast Sfjun got to perform the them track Mystery of love at Oscars. I hope you will react to official music video for Mystery of love
Are you Muslim?
I love this movie, it's one of my fave lgbtq movies for sure.
S Jaco
It's one of my favorite Jewish movies for certain,
S Jaco it’s on of my fave films set in Italy for sure
its one of my favourite movies in general, if not THE favourite, tho i have 10 or more that i cant choose 1 of
S Jaco it’s a love story why does it have to be 🏳️🌈
@@p4u7y because it is dumbass.
8:48 “the tree’s are watching” I cackled lol
He was very clever to say that. The trees here are a representation of us, the viewers; they were absolutely still, there wasn't even a light breeze. And what do you do when you want to know what's going on in a room but you can't see?: you stay still, against the door, you may even hold your breath to catch every little sound.
Notice that Elio's name was the first and last name mention in the film
The subtle moments make the movie in my opinion. It builds up the relationship with grains of sand rather than bricks. Gives a vibe like you’re discovering something. Chalamet def earned that Oscar nom.
I'm so glad you watched this, I adore this movie. I wanna live in Italy too!
Aria Simone Italy is beautiful ❤️
I live close to it and I Agree it's very beautiful.
I go to school in Crema, where they filmed some of the scenes for this movie. They actually left the tiny café table and their two bikes in the duomo square for people to take pictures for a while. It was weird to see tourists here because of this. Before covid obv
“The trees are watching” THAT HAD ME LAUGHING SO HARD
Oh my god, I'm like crying with laughter at your reactions. This was brilliant! 😂😂
this whole movie is a masterpiece to me. it means so much to have elio as a bisexual rep, and the movie in general is just very dear to my heart. it’s obviously a 10 for me.
That movie was something else! Swear im here with a broken heart 😭 Still a beautiful story... and so relatable. Thanks for the reaction video 🙌🏼
this is the most beautiful and aesthetic film ive ever seen, i can say that right now and for some time, this is my favourite movie ever, i could seriously start crying just at the thought of it because its just so deep and so much, this film is so big.. if you get me.. ill never forget this movie ever
EXACTLY how I feel about this movie! It will always have a place in my heart!
If u didn't know the book is by Andre Aciman and he wrote a sequel called Find Me where they meet again years later and Oliver is still married and has kids but Elio is living as a classical pianist in Paris in a relationship with an older man but they still have feelings for each other-
Yeah,it wasn’t that easy to be gay back in 1983... I liked the book best, but it is beautiful film indeed...
he wasn't gay. he was attracted to girls too
u dont need to know my name f ok,maybe bisexual. But he never got married later,in the book also.
@@OlHa1972 How do they end up in the book?
@@7Mushrooms7 they went their own way. Oliver married his girlfriend in USA, and got two sons.
@@OlHa1972 How about Elio? What became of him afterwards?
“the trees are watching....!”
Really hoping they do make a second part. Sounds like it would be an extremely different movie but to revisit those characters a few years later would be amazing.
I finally watched it this weekend. That ending was broke me😢😭
People who read the book when the camera cut to a peach: 👀
Your reaction to the end was the same as me!! Speechless.. I subscribed :)
wow watching the end with u brought back the emotions again. this movie is so good. not for everyone, but everything was just superb.
I believe this movie covered only the first half of the book, It was filmed in the director's home town in northeast Italy. In the book Oliver is 24yo and Elio is 17. It was set in 1983, before HIV, etc. I believe the book follows their lives from 1983 to 2013, so a lot to cover.
Dave Helms wait does this got through the AIDs era?
The father and son moment was PRICELESS….. father of the year right there ….true story
Officially my fav video of yours!!
This goddamn film hurts you so much... Then it makes you watch him cry for for 3 minutes straight.
They will be using this movie in movie making classes for years to come. Shot on 35mm film using ONE LENS for everything. Luca is an amazing director. I was expecting you to have some stronger reactions to some of the scenes. (Monet's berm (the lick kiss), Dad's speech to Elio and that amazing waterfall scene with the amazing music by Sufjan Stevens)... I guess everything can't hit you like SKAM, Season 3, episode 9).... Cheers !
awwww WHAT A SHAME lmao that was literally me in that part
Omgi literally watched it yesterday didn't know you reacted to it well here I go😂
I'm straight but honestly I cried over the ending and could feel how cruel the nature after all
THIS IS MY MOVIE !!!I LOVE TIMMY AND ARMIE. You gotta watch Timothee’s song statistics, it’s hilarious.
Can you react to the trailer of Timothée's new movie, Beautiful Boy?
This is one of my favorite movies.. I can't wait for the sequel & I love your reaction
Can tell your heart has been ripped out along with Elios lol
Hello. I'm Bruce from the States. I just viewed your review of, CALL ME BY YOUR NAME. Sorry my imput is late. I enjoyed the movie as well
But, may I be bold? A query please? Did you also cry at the end when Elio got the phone call from Oliver? That got me dude.
Keep up your site.
Respectfully yours,
Bruce
Oh my god I’m dying “ he’s just standing there’s and he’s better than everyone I know, it’s bullshit!!“ 😂😂😂😂😂
Last I heard Luca decided No he isn't doing a part two.....He had originally planned too But after 6 years and the trouble Hammer got in and as busy as Timmy has gotten He stated there won't be a part two.
Please, read Italian Film News site! On April 08th 2024, the director Luca Guardingo said the sequel script is prepared; Armie and Timothy are surely acting in it, as well as the other previous actors necessary for the sequel.
I just watched this last week and really enjoyed it, I hope part 2 is just as good.
Romae Daley part two is going to break our hearts.
what part two??
They're making a Call Me by Your Name 2 film
Romae Daley woaaahhhh
i just looked it up the director wants to make like four five more sequels to cmbyn
that’s wild
Oliver is 24 y.o. in the book.
OlHa1972. And in the film too. Although his age wasn't mentioned, he was described as a grad student. It's normal for grad students to be in their early 20s.
OlHa1972 yeah? I see no problem. The age of consent in ITTALY is 14, and in other countries it’s ussaly 16 or 18, so it’s perfectly legal.
Tell that I'm not the only one who cried with Eliot in the credits
Amazing film! Great reaction and comments!
@1:28 🤣 me too bro!
What do you think about Mr. Perlman's coming out to his son?
It is honestly one of my (if not the) favourite scene(s) in the entire movie. It is eased in so beautifully, set so firmly and concluded by answering the biggest question with regards to that information: "Does Mom know?". We know she doesn't know, because they are still together, but what if she does? After all, she knew about Elio & Oliver..
And of course, the acting speaks for itself; extremely powerful yet subtle verbal cues were emphasized with such ease😍 Realism at it's finest👌🏼
first of all, I’m pretty sure im psychic because i was literally just thinking about this movie and back on my cmbyn bullshit and then i see this in my subscriptions? im a confirmed witch now. and second of all, your hair looks nice
That’s spooky ;) and thank you!
4:48 The new Trevor Henderson monster lol

Aaksjksksks were you watching on flenix or another shady website bc they don’t include the Italian subtitles which are in the actual film 😂😂 my friend did that and I was like !!!??? how did you understand any of the film?!
Lex I purchased the film on bluray and a setting was off for subtitles :) have rewatched it since however with them on
I live in Italy and it sure isn't as great haha
They didn't stay together😫😫😫
Are you English, Scottish or Welsh? I'm an American. Ha.
They're like in upgraded version of ezria in season 1 & 2😂
Can you please react to love simon too
I love this movie :)
Do this w maze runner
In the book they were versatile.
You really can't read Cha-la-met?
The problem with this film is so called relationship between Elio and Oliver - Oliver is using and manipulating Elio, Oliver is hot and cold to leave Elo wanting more/ for Oiver it was just fling ( he is a narcissist), he only got his rocks off. I just wonder why people don't see how problematic and toxic this relationship was. The cinematography and pictures were great but that's about it.
I think that the whole movie is overrated but the last 15 mins are great. I cried so hard.
You couldn't possibly have felt such strong emotions in the last 15 minutes if the rest of the film hadn't built up to it. It deserves credit too.
I cant understand a word you're saying. you're talking way too fast and your accent is so thick.
