    The very last scene when he cries in front of the fire is my favourite. You can see every emotion on his face, sadness obviously but also anger and when he smiles, probably remembering everything again, and all of that with his face covered in tears... Amazing. He truly knows how to act ! I’m getting forward to seeing him in other movies in the future !
    (Edit : And if he acts in a french movie I will still be able to see it since I’m french ! ✌️)

      I think it was not only the remembrance of all the moments. I felt like Elio was giving the feeling that every time somebody will call him by his name he will be hurting and feeling all of those emotions again during this scene. So heartbreaking.

      TheTrophyMunchers. The backlash was because ten out of fifty US states have an age of consent of 18, but many dumb Americans think it is 18 everywhere. The other forty states + Canada + Europe are all required to obey the laws of those ten states, apparently.

    • @f1nalgirll
      @f1nalgirll 6 лет назад +91

    I remember that in an interview, they mentioned that Timothée went to Crema (the town in italy, where they filmed the movie) 4 weeks early to practice the piano, learn to play the guitar and of course learn italian. When Armie arrived, parts of the movie actually became true, like Timmy showing Armie around, where everything was and stuff like that (: They also mentioned that because they filmed it abroard, they didn't really felt this pressure; they could completely absorb the feeling this movie is trying to convey and in the end, bring it to the screen so unbelievably raw and well

      He was very clever to say that. The trees here are a representation of us, the viewers; they were absolutely still, there wasn't even a light breeze. And what do you do when you want to know what's going on in a room but you can't see?: you stay still, against the door, you may even hold your breath to catch every little sound.

    I believe this movie covered only the first half of the book, It was filmed in the director's home town in northeast Italy. In the book Oliver is 24yo and Elio is 17. It was set in 1983, before HIV, etc. I believe the book follows their lives from 1983 to 2013, so a lot to cover.

    What do you think about Mr. Perlman's coming out to his son?
    It is honestly one of my (if not the) favourite scene(s) in the entire movie. It is eased in so beautifully, set so firmly and concluded by answering the biggest question with regards to that information: "Does Mom know?". We know she doesn't know, because they are still together, but what if she does? After all, she knew about Elio & Oliver..
    And of course, the acting speaks for itself; extremely powerful yet subtle verbal cues were emphasized with such ease😍 Realism at it's finest👌🏼
