It's so funny, because in the books Gally gives zero fucks about the rules. Zero. Hell, half the time he's the one breaking the rules, and he just doesn't care lmao
Overall, I think the movies are decent on their own, but the books just had so much more depth in plot, so much less predictable than the movies, and much more emotional.
But the casting for them was great
What I most dislike about this movie are the small things they changed from the book, that actually make big differences in the plots of the movies vs books. I remember it saying in the book, specifically, "it never rains in the glade"- because in the book, the maze is underground. So when it started raining, I got really confused and then kinda pissy lmao
Overall,though, this movie follows the book plot pretty decently. The next movies, though? Not even fucking close aaaahahaha

The Maze Runner series is my absolute favorite books and movies of all time! I love the story and the characters. Just so good! Everyone was cast perfectly especially Thomas Brodie Sangster as Newt. And I liked how it ended. It gave you that "OH FUCK WHAT?! SHES NOT DEAD THIS WAS A SET UP?!" moment. It hyped me up for the second movie cuz I wanted to know what was gonna happen. Also Wes Ball, the director of these movies, is so insanely talented. He also listened to the fans and took recommendations and stuff from us. He made sure that some of our favorite and most iconic lines or scenes from the books made it into the movies. I appreciate that soooo much. and hes actually directi g the next planet of the apes movie so I cant wait to see it.
