  • I have zero regrets for talking about this movie for so long. I've been in this Call Me By Your Name trance for a while and I just HAD to make a video to express my obsession- not only with the movie but with Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. If you are as obsessed with the movie as I am, please please comment below (maybe your fav scene? or anything!)!! I would love to talk about it (even more- and to someone that is not a camera!)!! Forever grateful that I got to witness such a beautiful piece of art. Story-telling is so damn important and this movie reminded me of that :)
    NOTE: There was a lot that I originally talked about that I had to cut down so this video wouldn't be longer than it already is.
    Will probably write a little bit more in this description box later about some of the things I left out- but for right this moment I have tons of reading to do!

    This film really has messed me up. I am a straight man and I was crying like a baby. I hesitated to watch the movie because I am more of an action film type. I now understand the meaning of true love unconditional love. I have been a mess for a couple of days I actually thought I was crazy until I started reading review after review of people feeling the same way and I did. I have a new respect for people in general gay, straight or anything in between. Love is love and I truly understand that now. OMG I didn't even know I could feel this way or be this compasionate.

    Ciao, I'm italian and I live in Crema. I love all about this film, I'm really obsessed... my city, my life's places, my dialect, the riflessi's lake, the fontanile, Bergamo, the Serio waterfalls, the Garda's lake, Sirmione... I have seen these place many times in my life! I live there and it's so exciting.

      I actually spent a summer week with a significant someone at the lake Garda and then close to Bergamo a year before the movie was shot. We stayed in a similar house... I LOVED every inch there. That's why I'm afraid I won't ever get over this film. Ever. - It's just so real and surreal at the same time. And soo deep.

    This film brought me to my knees. I have never, in my life, been so affected for such a long time after seeing a movie as I was with CMBYN. It devastated me. I don't think a day has gone by in the past few months where I haven't thought about Elio and Oliver and whether they have a future together or not. My favourite scene in the movie has to be when Elio is playing Une Barque sur l’océan on the piano and Luca has paired it with these really dramatic, moody, cinematic shots...it is just so hauntingly beautiful.

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +2

      Same thing for me- was absolutely devastated and heartbroken after I watched it. Just like you, and as you can probably tell by the video, a film hasn't affected me this way before. Also yes!! that's such a good scene!! I love the beautiful scenery that he pairs up as the song plays. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment

    • @thomasthompson6378
      @thomasthompson6378 6 лет назад

      Elio doesn't play Une Barque sur l'ocean on the piano. That Ravel piece is exceedingly difficult and for the movie it was performed by a professional pianist.

    • @thomasthompson6378
      @thomasthompson6378 6 лет назад +1

      Yes, that was quite interesting. Using Ravel's piece intended to depict the ocean to show the magic between these two characters on bikes was really a stroke of genius. It's really one of my favorite moments in the film. Yours too, I imagine.

  • @Amanda-md2yy

    I think the reason we all love this movie so much is that it allows us to really feel. Like Elio’s father said in the movie along the lines of “there is sorrow and pain. Don’t kill it. As to not feel anything at all, what a waste.” That line really hit me hard. This movie breaks you, but you appreciate it for that. I would rather have my heart shattered than to not be affected, simply because feeling allows us to feel alive, whether it’s joy or sorrow. I watched the film for the third time last night and still bawled my eyes out. Sufjan Stevens’ songs have really stuck with me. So beautiful. I will forever love this film.

    • @Amanda-md2yy
      @Amanda-md2yy 6 лет назад +4

      I figured I’d mention two of my favorite scenes. 1) when Oliver and Elio are sitting alone in the hallway, and Oliver lifts Elio’s leg and kisses his foot. I thought that was so lovely. I interpreted it as Oliver feeling “you’re so dainty and I want to watch over you to the best of my ability” 2) the scene where Elio is sitting alone outside at night and Futile Devices starts playing. I loved how the light broke though the camera lens and gave this foggy, in a trance feeling. I then related it back to how Elio was feeling in that moment and the song lyrics, such as “i do...love you, I do” his mind is in limbo trying to comprehend how this all happened so quickly. I thought that was so symbolic.

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +5

      That line broke me. That whole monologue shattered me. " simply because feeling allows us to feel alive, whether it’s joy or sorrow." I couldn't agree with you more on that. And oh my goodness yes to your favourite scenes!! The cinematography when Futile Devices is playing is so so damn beautiful and the song fits so perfectly in line with the story, it's basically narrating what is happening- I love how much thought went into this film. I obviously agree with every little thing you said. Thank you

    • @alexanderbruck6200
      @alexanderbruck6200 4 года назад +2

      That's so true, and their is no judgment at all as to whether all these feelings are appropriate or not during the film. It's just OK to have them and to express them. I also really liked the hallway scene following Elio's nose bleeding. The way Oliver kisses the foot and cares about Elio is so handsome. Every gesture and move is just so pure and authentic. By the way, I also like the very beginning of the film where Elio and Marzia are watching Oliver's arrival at the Pearlman's house from the window as you can already sense Elio being attracted to Oliver in this very first shot.

  • @aby_lev89
    @aby_lev89 6 лет назад +246

    you should read the book if you haven't! you see so much more into Elio's mind, thought, regrets, emotions...it's a turmoil.and it's written so beautifully! almost like poetry. and then listen to the audio book read by armie hammer!

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +17

      I'm hoping to do so soon!! A couple other people here mentioned the audio book sounds like it's Oliver reading Elio's diary, so I'll definitely have to get on that as well!

      Alternative universe, that's such a good way to put it! I just watched this movie for the first time last month (sooo late, I know) and I can't get over it. Like Lina said, I think about it before I go to bed or random parts of my day. Sometimes I tear up just thinking about the movie. It really has been the most emotionally powerful movie I've ever seen, nothing else has ever effected me this way. Most movies I watch and instantly forget about 10 minutes later. Will I ever get over this film lol.

    This movie made me feel something deep too. It grabbed my soul. Like you I became a little obsessed with it because it pulled at places in my heart that were tender and soft. The day after I saw the movie I ordered the book on Audible and listened to it over the next two days. The writing was so eloquent, sensual and introspective. Armie read the novel and as he did it sounded like dripping honey. It was beautiful.The monologue of the father, which made me cry because I am a father, and I hope I have given my son the same kind of advise and support through the years - but I know I've never said it that beautifully. All of the things about the movie were great but what grabbed me the most was Timothee as Ole. That was the most emotionally honest performance I have ever seen.I will now judge all other performances against Timothee as Ole! About the peach scene: the symbolic references of the peach and the juice and the exploration and intimacy were way more erotic than any actual sex scene could have been.So, there you go; you are not the only one obsessed with this movie. Thanks for the video :)

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +1

      Completely agree with everything you said. I've been looking into getting the audiobook sometime soon, a couple of other people here have commented that it almost sounds like Oliver reading Elio's diary. I'm sure you gave your son the same kind of support over the years- but yes, of course Mr. Perlman's advice was beautifully written and perfectly acted out. I think you mean Timothée as Elio (just a spelling thing for the future), I also think his performance was raw, honest, and just absolute perfection. I agree with you on the peach scene- I had initially talked about it before I started editing the video and ended up leaving that part out. Anyway, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

      Yes you must read (or listen) to the book. The writing is entrancing, you'll feel like you're in Elio's (yeah don't know why I had Ole on the brain lol) head. It is beautifully written and you'll see why the movie was so great. Take care and good luck on your site! :)

    i couldn't agree more with everything that you said and this is one of the most articulate reviews i've seen so far! and what i really appreciated about the film as well is like you said all the small moments and little gestures. one scene that really stuck with me was when they went swimming together and elio is trying to look like he doesn't care and oliver asks him what he's doing and then what he's thinking about and elio just smiles privately and says "it's private" i just loved it so much. you can see everything play out with their expressions and what they say without needing to speak.

      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +3

      ahhh thank you so much, that makes me so happy to hear!! AND YES YES to all of the small moments and little gestures that built up. that scene is so perfect. I love how the actors are able to say so much just from their gazes and subtle expressions- totally agree with you

      Wow - what a review. I feel ya - can't shake it either - after 3 months of first seeing it. And when I watch it again, it never feels less powerful - it destroys me. Check out "Miss Stevens" on iTunes. It is only 99 cents to rent. It is a movie Timothee Chalomette did in 2015 about 3 high school students going to a drama competition with their English teach (Miss Stevens). Timothee is stunning here too - proof positive that he is likely heir to "actor of his generation". Thanks for sharing yourself so openly. You made us all feel less crazy...

    Watched this the other day. I've been stuck in that tight space between heartache and happiness. I suppose that's the principle emotion when you think of your first love but watching this movie really took me to this beautiful, nostalgic place and then tore at my being and left me a bit of a wreck. so many things, the subleties of the relationships and the slow burn towards the end, and then that final scene and knowing for a fact that that was the end. There was no fairy tale ending, no twist, just the heart wrenching realization that that was the end, a summer fling, but one of the most meaningful experiences of your life. There are so many parallels that people can draw from this movie and relate to themselves, it really takes that languid, neverending summer feeling that we all used to have as kids, personifies the purity and intensity of our first true romance, and the whiplash when it all ended so quickly. So glad to have watched this movie and hope to see Hammer and Chamalet flourish.

Gosh, "the whiplash when it all ended so quickly" still hurting over that. I too, can't wait to see what Armie and Timothée accomplish- this undoubtedly allowed them to grow as actors.

    It’s been a month since I watched it and I’m still not over it. Honestly it’s just one of those true masterpieces that just completely affects the way you think, the way you move, the way you see things. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get over this if I’m honest because it has fundamentally changed me in so many ways and every time I watch it it just gets better and better. I have so much appreciation for everyone involved in this film because it’s just perfection. Thanks so much for sharing your views, I have never known a 23 minutes to go so fast because I was just screaming along with you!!

      Amelia Parker absolutely, I love your comment. I feel the same way. I think this movie’s ability to take a hold of the viewer’s mindset is really incredible. The fact that I can simply think about a certain scene or song from it and be reduced to tears says so much. It’s almost as if I never want to let go of this film for it makes me think and feel deeper than ever before. It’s special.

      @ameliaparker5835 6 лет назад +3

      Amanda M it’s so nice to share these feelings with so many others who were so deeply affected by the film in the same way as myself. I completely agree though - I don’t want to let go of it as it has become of who I am since the first time I saw it. I completely surrounded myself with as much of it as I can. I’ve watched it many times since. I bought the soundtrack and wrapped myself up in it. I read the book. I have watched so many interviews with the cast and crew to try and plunge even deeper into the setting and it truly has become real to me. It’s such an important story in this crazy day and age and I now know what I want to find in my life

    • @Amanda-md2yy

      Amelia Parker I love hearing that. It is essentially therapeutic talking to others who see this film with similar eyes if that makes sense. It’s such an immersive experience. It’s even better knowing how devoted the whole cast and crew was in the making of it. It became a way of life in a sense. I would love to see some behind the scenes of their filming process..that would be so cool. I really need to read the book/listen to the audiobook with Armie asap. I know it’s going to be wonderful. :)

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +3

      I absolutely love this conversation between you two. I totally agree that it is essentially therapeutic talking to others who feel the same way about the film- it's just so nice to be able to relate to someone who's on the same level. And @Amelia Parker thank you for watching all 23 minutes! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it :) Honestly I just agree with every little thing that you guys said. I have to read the book soon - just not ready for that sort of heartbreak just yet.... and I think a part of me wants to save it if that makes sense- knowing that there's more to this story out there makes my heart so happy. And gosh listening to the audiobook is supposed to sound like Oliver reading Elio's diary and I just can't wait to get on that- as soon as school is over in a month for me that's what I'll be doing for sure. Anyway!!! sorry for the extra long comment- thanks to both of u!

    • @ameliaparker5835
      @ameliaparker5835 6 лет назад +2

      Lina Lecompte Well I’m excited for both of you to read the book/experience the audio book, it’s amazing too. I maybe would even go as far as to say that the book moved me even more than the film... if that’s even possible! I was reading the last bit in public and I had to stop because I started crying and was getting some funny looks! And I know what you mean, it’s such a nice feeling knowing that there’s still more to discover in the universe of this film and my advice would be to definitely take the book slowly, don’t rush through it otherwise you’ll finish it too quickly! Also, something else that really makes this story feel like my own is that I’m from England and it wasn’t really released properly over here and not too many people know about it... which is a shame as it’s such a masterpiece and more people should see it BUT it does mean that it feels like it’s my secret!
      (Also one more thing that I haven’t seen mentioned yet: one of my favourite scenes is when Elio and Oliver are upstairs at night and it’s so quiet and the door goes to slam. It’s just the most real thing when Elio goes to grab it but it’s too late and you can see how frustrated he is with himself! Just the way he reacts is so real and we’ve definitely all been there!)

    Great Video! This movie just destroyed me after I saw it. When I saw it in theatres 2 months ago this movie refused to leave my head. It's honestly a movie that made me forget I was watching a movie. I actually felt like I was looking into real life because of the way it's written, acted, directed and shot. This is the definition of a masterpiece.

    Oh my god i really thought that I was the only one who affected by this. The rawness and truth that I felt throughout the movie really got to me and how everything was so surreal. I have yet to experience a love like this at 17 in which the movie gives me hope and fear for the future. What if I am not capable of living through such a thing, am I strong enough? His pain was my pain as I felt every single emotion brought upon these actors. I have not been able to get this movie or of my head the entire day and probably for days to come. Such a beautifully crafted piece of art. Thank you for your review I felt the same exact way.

      You're definitely not alone in how this affected you, I think it broke a lot of us. You're definitely capable, but I can definitely see what you're saying-- the heartbreak in this movie was so much to handle and technically it wasn't even our own heartbreak, so experiencing something like that first hand would be so so hard to get over. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about it

I think it's my 6th time seeing it and I can say with 100% certainty that this is the most influential movie I've ever seen. The intimacy, the love, the humour, the grief...it was simply love at it's rawest and purest. No obstacles just 2 people following their instincts, exploring their identity and experiencing the strongest feeling known to mankind: love. The fact that they are 2 men is just a side issue. Great review, u just earned yourself a sub!☺️

    My fiance showed me the trailer a couple of weeks ago and the storyline did not catch me at all
    What I was fangirling over was the cinematography. I thought "Damn, the scenery is beautiful in this. We must watch it!"
    So we watch it, and I don't know what kind of spell it has put on me but a week later I can NOT STOP thinking about this damn film!!
    I bought the book and am almost done with it. I've seen the film a few times more and have been watching interviews. I am just obsessed with the two characters, Oliver and Elio, which is a shame and a tad bit delusional because they aren't even real. So I guess that right there is good film making if it was able to enchant me like this.
    Gosh. This film, you guys..

    • @lina.lecompte
      @lina.lecompte  6 лет назад +1

      I was actually the same! I watched the trailer and what really caught my attention was the scenery, not the story line. Honestly, I'm not sure that I would have chosen to watch it if it hadn't been nominated for an Oscar- so I'm so so glad it was because that's what personally really pushed me to watch it. And after I watched it I was obviously under the same spell that you were!!! If you're delusional for being obsessed with the characters, I guess I'm a bit delusional too, and apparently tons of people commenting on this video- so at least other people are on the same page. Thanks for watching

    I'm so glad that I've found out that other people feel the same way about the movie as I do, including yourself. Each element of the movie is so beautifully blended together but at the same time you appreciate each one for what it brings to the film. The 'trance' that you've been in since watching the movie is the perfect way to describe how I've been since I watched it last Tuesday. As soon as I wake up I can feel the impact of the movie hit me and stay with me throughout the day until I go to sleep. I'm an 18 year old Irish guy and for a movie to have touched me the way this one did makes me shook ☺. I'm watching it again tonight with my mam (it'll be her first time watching it) and I'm so excited. Anyway, just thought I had to express my appreciation for this video and you feeling the same way that I do about the film. Thanks!

    I am definitely obsessed with this film. I’ve literally watched it over and over and the only interviews that I seem to watch these days are of Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. You brought out a lot of things that I didn’t notice which made this movie even more incredible. What I find so strange to me is how far we have come that as a heterosexual female I can find such passion for this movie. I grew up in the 80’s and would never of even thought about watching a movie like this. Now it is my addiction.

    This movie hit me like a silent train, I didn't see it coming. It awoke so many things within me and uncovered so many buried feelings. I saw it around the day of my birthday, in March, which is already a sensitive time. I think it made me fall in love with the idea of falling in love and made me appreciate pain in its full beauty. I connected to Elio because he has the personality of the person I fell in love for the first time, and then by the end of the movie I was crying because I know the pain that feels when the love you feel is unrequited. I just wanted to get inside the movie and hug him, and cry, and comfort him, and just be bittersweet together. :'(
    So yeah, this movie is a masterpiece about love, intimacy, and the beauty of pain and memory.
    And it's the first movie in more than ten years that has me OBSESSED with. I went to all cinemas
    the movie theaters in my town trying to get the original movie poster with no luck, and I will definitely buy the book, the movie, and the soundtrack.

      "made me fall in love with the idea of falling in love and made me appreciate pain in its full beauty" that is the perfect way to put it. I completely with everything you said :) Thanks for taking the time to comment and share how you felt about it!

    What a great review! I feel totally the same as you, this movie is a masterpiece! How it manages to grab people's souls, no matter of what gender, age, sexual orientation... It's just such a great love story, so relatable. Also being italian it blew me up, it brought me back to those lazy summers in the eighties, that scenario, those songs, growing up, first love, all those emotions... And that end monologue that kills you... But the feeling I retained from the movie is positive, you realise that life is just like that, sometimes we connect with someone so deeply but the timing and circumstances are just not right. Maybe a story will have a follow-up, maybe it was meant to end there, but as Elio's father says, we should embrace the grief and be happy that it happened, feel lucky to actually experience that kind of connection with someone. That no one can take away from you.

    Lina, I feel the exact same with this movie, when I watched it, it was in the middle of the night by myself and after I watched it i could fall asleep until like 4 hours later because I felt so overwhelmed with emotion and it almost felt like i experienced the same pain as Elio in the movie and the actors really transferred the emotion onto the viewers through the screen. Im so happy that there wasn't any antagonists in the movie like unaccepting parents or some sort of HIV trouble. It was just all pure love and genuine goodness. There was nothing stopping them but time. I absolutely love this movie and I will never forget about it. Im honestly kind of scared to watch it a second time because I feel like it was almost traumatizing to watch it because of the way you feel afterwards and I feel like I will never be able to mentally prepare myself to feel that feeling again.

      I also watched it in the middle of the night by myself the first time- and like you I couldn't fall asleep for HOURS, I just kinda laid in my bed crying and once the waterworks stopped I just kept thinking about it. So I'm right there with you. Like I said in the video i'm also so glad there was no antagonists, you put it in such a good way "There was nothing stopping them but time". Take your time for when you watch it the second time (or if you don't want to at all that's understandable, it hurts!) , the second time I was able to catch on to more details and appreciate the film even more though. Thanks for watching and commenting

    I know it's been two years since this video but whatever, I've just watched Cmbyn for the second time and I just can't discribe this feeling that I feel right now. Actually , that's the best film I've ever seen in my whole life, I can't stop crying every time I go to bed listening to those two beautiful musics. This movie really talks about LOVE and just it, not about a gay relationship but just true and unconditinal love. As you said, there's no bad characters to messed up their relation or Idk things like that. Honestly, I don't really know how to explain this obsession that I have for this movie and the whole universe which goes with it, but it makes me think every time, it's unfair that they just can't be together and love each other until the end of their lives ! I wasn't ready to fall in love that much with a movie, thank you for this video I actually needed it.

    You literally said everything! I don't know how to express myself about this film because it is SO GOOD. I'm hella crazy with this and it is the first film that I actually like 100% in ages and I couldn't agree more with you.. I got so obsessed with Italy and Crema and Elio and Oliver and the movie that I might have watched it 4 times in just 1 day. It is so different from the other romantic and dramatic movies and I think that is what captured my attention. OMG, the soundtrack.. The soundtrack is everything and the lyrics touch my heart every freacking time, "Oh is me, the last time that you touched me" and "I have loved you for the last time, is it a video?" relate so much and I literally cry every single time I hear them. 1 week from now since I saw the actual movie for the first time and I still think about it every day and I have never been like this for a movie or whatever, but it really touched my heart. I am a 16-year-old boy and to be honest, knowing that this film exists makes me so happy and knowing that it impacts so many young people AAAAAAAA This film has changed so many things and it is 100% of another perspective of love that we haven't seen before (at least I haven't). About the end of the movie, I don't know if you saw that one interview where Andre said that there was much more after that and that if everything went well, in 2020 we would have the continuation of "Call Me By Your Name", and I really hope that Elio and Oliver reunite again or something similar, because I can't stand the fact that Oliver is getting married and Elio is still processing all of that! I can't really explain what I feel about the end of the movie but it is something very strong. Anyways, THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO and sorry about all of this enormous text! Loved it.

      Oh my gosh! Don't be sorry about the amount of text, it honestly makes me so happy to read things like these because I seriously relate. I am 10000000% with you on everything that you said- as you can clearly tell by the video I feel the exact same. AND YES to the soundtrack, the lyrics make me cry as soon as I hear them- especially Vision of Gideon since it just reminds me of that final scene with Elio and it seriously just breks my heart all over again. I am so so happy a love story like this has gotten this amount of recognition, because it's a story that needed to be told and seen. AND YES! I think they've confirmed the making of a sequel in the future and I seriously can't wait. thanks for watching!

    OMG, I watched this film like a month ago and I am not over it!!! Two days after, I finished reading the book and I got so emotional! The last paragraph let me speechless. Every time I think about some quotes as "Oliver, I remember everything" or "Call me by your name, and I'll call you by mine" , my heart shatters into million of pieces. I'm so glad that I gave this story a chance because I'm sure that it is the best one I'll read/watch this year. So, I FEEL YOU. PS: I have a new crush and his name is Timothée Chalamet :)

I recently purchased the book (the book that had the same cover of the movie because I just needed that one lol😍) and I’m reading it and so far it’s sooo good I love it so much and what’s cool about the book too is that Armie Hammer does the voice audio for the book!!!😭 so when u read it while listening to the audio it feels like your watching a LONGER version of the movie so I RECOMMEND reading the book as well💙😭

    Oh, my gosh thank you so much for making this video!! I cried while you were talking, you made me feel understood. I have been obsessed with this film for so many days, how you said I can even stop thinking about it. I live in Italy about an hour from Crema and I think I will go there because I want to be where everything started and grew so beautifully. The actors are so damn good and so row, I think I'll never see a film this emotionally moving. I really hope in a great career for Timothée, in this film he's outstanding and I wanted him to win the Oscar, but at the same time, I'm glad he did so he's going to be remembered for being an amazing young actor and not just the youngest Oscar winner.
    I read the book right after I saw the film for the second time, I needed to know more about Elio and Oliver. I wanted to know exactly what he was thinking, so I read it. It's amazing if you didn't read it you should definitely do it. It's very intense and beautiful and makes you appreciate the film even more. I think you already know that in the book the story goes on a little bit. They meet again when they are older and the conversation they have it's just aww and sad and everything!
    Seriously I need to stop talking about it right now hahaha I can talk for hours and never get over it! Sorry for my English and thank you again for this video!!!!

I'm hoping to read the book soon.... I'm just not sure if I'm ready for the heartbreak again. Anyway... thanks for taking the time to comment

    thank you for all you've said in this video. I've watched it several days ago and I wasn't expecting something that catching from this. now I can't eat and sleep without thinking of it and imagining myself a part of this story. almost no other story had got that deep under my skin before, and I find it beautiful. the whole film is maintained in the most suitable things like colors, music, characters, landscapes. I'm that kind of person whose mindset can be changed by the only one small thing. I've been to Italy this summer and I didn't really like it for some strange reasons, maybe, I just didn't like myself. I'm going to enter the university this year and I've been thinking of what third language should I take. When I watched this movie, I realized I hadn't felt Italy as much as I could, I realized that I had fallen in love with this country, just didn't understand this. I chose to learn Italian. That's a fun fact about my life:) What I'm trying to say that I fell for this movie and this story and I guess I won't let it go for a long time.Yesterday I started to read the book and to listen to the audiobook(it's brilliant) and I don't want the story to end. This is the perfect one. I have several favorite scenes, but I reaaaaaly admire the one when Elio follows Oliver bc "he just wanted to be with him" and Oliver says "do you know how happy I am that we slept together?", and the way their fingers touch and this "I would kiss you if I could". Nothing dirty, vulgar, nothing pretentious, but it's so strong and emotional. I love this, ah

      Gosh, yes yes to everything you said about the film and THAT SCENE was so perfect, honestly literally every single scene in the movie is great- I would've loved to bring a lot more of them up (like the one you mentioned) but the video was too long already. That's honestly so awesome that the film influenced you to choose to learn Italian. Totally agree with you on everything, thanks for watching

    oh god the voice at the end of this video. Finding this video is such a gem (even if I'm a bit late). It feels good when you find someone who shares the same sentiments (and obsession) about the movie. And your reaction, aahh, I can relate to you to the spiritual level. I've been obsessing over the movie and the book since the day I watched it and read the book. Among the factors that added to my obsession is Armie Hammer's voice in the audiobook. It's been more than 2 years now and I still keep thinking about it.

    So happy to have found your video as I, too, have been obsessed with Call Me By Your Name since seeing it the day before the Oscars. It’s good to see how many people have loved and been touched by the film. I’ve read the book once and an reading it again. The movie touches so many parts of love that we have had or yearn to have. Very relatable and my heart has been wide open since. Cannot remember crying this much after seeing a movie.
    The acting is superb. We can really feel what the characters are experiencing and it’s conveyed straight to our hearts. This film created a family with the actors and the love is so evident. The stars really did align so this masterpiece could be created. Thank you for sharing.
