Not to mention the joystick, John Randell, Lott, Rice, Chad Johnson, TO, tony G, and others. Also could you imagine if Steve largent had gloves? Dude rarely dropped with bare hands he'd be cheesing with gloves. Also Warren Moon made it so it wasn't a white man position he made it so it was ok these guys can bomb it fifty plus down field not just RBs and WRs and it was guys like Wilson that made it ok we can have a TE block, but also go 20 yards down field. A lot of this was coaches seeing hey this guy can play at this position well.
My senior year was Vick's redshirt year. I lived next door to 3 football players and used to hear about this freshman who was absolutely destroying our first team defense in practice and scrimmages. We were a top 5 in the country defense at the time. People forget just how good of a passer he was in college, he had some accuracy issues in the NFL but not while at Tech.
My senior year was also his freshman year, and I can remember asking one of the football players if this new QB was any good. I wonder what the coaches thought when they saw how good he was before he actually started playing. I had to renounce my Vick fandom though, once I heard about all the horrible things he did to those helpless dogs. Greatest talent ever to play the game of football, he is lucky no one actually saw the crimes he commited to those poor animals though.
Always drive me crazy hearing people say “he’s just a runner.” He could effortlessly sling the ball and had two really good receivers. I also used to think if I was coaching defense, and Vick ran the option, ignore the runner and go after Vick. The running back might get 20 yards but Vick will most likely score lol. You’re absolutely right though, he was a great passer in college. Most exciting college player I’ve ever watched in my 52 years. I’d have to put Johnny Football second.
You know what?? When someone apologizes, you can genuinely recognize if they mean it or not. Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, and Michael Phelps are GREAT examples of this! These are guys who made careless mistakes, but so what?? They realized that they had to become better men for themselves, their families, and they also realized that (whether they like it or not) they're role models! If you ask me, it's one thing to say "I made a mistake" and then turn around and make the same dumb mistakes over and over and over again, but it's another thing to say it, actually grow up and learn from it, and not let it happen again. These gentlemen are awesome examples of turning tragedy into triumph. Keep up the great work, Mr. Vick!!
@@blxbrg2169 Vick has arguably a top 5 arm talent in nfl history, the guy could throw a football 80 yards with one of the tightest spirals ever, and all of it throwing with his left hand which makes it even more crazy
@@ballsballsballs3617 I actually was lucky enough to see him throw one of his insane passes out of Lane!!!! He actually was #1 in passing efficiency in the country the 1999 season, I believe that’s correct. And a lefty like you said
@blxbrg2169 I've never seen anyone say he had a bad arm lol. He was a terrible passer, as he had 25th or lower completion percentage every single season he was with the falcons
Michael Vick is the best dual threat quaterback ever!!! Let's go Hokies!!! I ❤ VT!!! I love Virginia Tech football!!! As a Georgia Bulldogs fan, I have mad respect for the Virginia Tech hokies and I also have mad respect for my boy Michael Vick!!! I love Michael Vick!!! Let's go Hokies!!! I ❤ VT football!!!
We all love people if they can run fast or throw a football far, not a good reason to love someone. We should love them for their character which he didnt have.
i will never forget that game. florida state was supposed to win by 20+ in a massive blowout, and vick had them right in the game very late into the 3rd quarter and he finally ran outta gas in the 4th, and FSU finally pulled away.
Was there and it was just something special that man had. Ridiculous speed, insane balance and vision. People who say he had no arm strength and was not a precision passer have never seen him live. He had it all may never see it again
I almost love seeing Vick throw the ball more than him running the ball. He's an absolute phenom running, but his passes are so smooth and effortlessly thrown its unreal to watch
What a wonderful video of Mikes 2000 season. I did a search for it and found yours. I went crazy that year following VT. BTW Andre Davis and that Defense were a "BEAST".
PockyCandy Thanx for this compilation! I was just watching Virginia vs Virginia Tech 2017, and only wish Tech had a QB like Vick! He was a lone threat on wheels, with eyes and a gun!
For anyone who played Pop Warner-watching Vick reminds me of that one guy who went through puberty before everyone else in the league so that he’s so much more explosive that it just seems unfair. Amazing player.
19:41-19:50 is plain right unfair. A QB isn't supposed to that, in that situation. Let alone, against an athletically supreme talented defensive team, like The U.
There's a good recent ESPN documentary on Vick.... he explains how he just get's in the zone and things slow down when he's snapping the ball or running.
They play in the same division in high school ... Curry at Hampton High School in Hampton Virginia.... Vick at Warwick High in Newport News Va. Curry won 3 stright Virginia state championships.... Vick never beat Curry in highschool..... Curry was then and still is the best quarterback recruit to ever come out VA..... that same region also produced Aaron Brooks.... Tyrod Taylor.... EJ Emmanuel...... Southeast Virginia is the home of the black quarterback...... that region also produced Lawrence Taylor... Bruce Smith ...Plaxico Burress ...DeAngelo Hall ...Kam Chancellor..... imagine if Vick had been allowed to play in the NFL with the same offense that has been built around Lamar Jackson...the Ravens would have never lost a game.
Lol yeah with Lamars legendary receivers of a rookie with screws in his foot, Willie Snead and Seth Robert's right? Vick fans always say he could have done what Lamar has, but why didn't he just do it?
King James Actually, Ernie Davis RB was the first African American to be drafted #1 overall to the NFL in ‘62 (to the Redskins whom they traded to the Browns) from Syracuse (incidentally, he was also the 1st AA to be awarded the Heisman trophy). Tragically, Davis never played a down in the NFL as he was diagnosed & died of leukemia in ‘63. In fact, Vick wasn’t even the 1st AA Hokie to be drafted #1 overall. That was Bruce Smith DE in ‘85 (to the Bills).
Yo I thought the nfl was going to have to change the rules because of michael Vick man.... The Falcons fukdup his career he had no offensive line and no wrs
its crazy to think that vick said he never really trained, did work outs, studied film or the playbooks, and he did what he did. he basically has said that everything we saw him do was purely off natural talent and ability, and he really never put in the type of work a professional athlete usually has to put in to be able to compete with their peers. wonder what he woulda did if he had the mindset of someone like kobe who was known for his legendary workout and training.
Absolutely!!!! Andre caught anything close to him. Made Mike Vick a better player. Check out the video of him scoring 3 touchdown in three different ways

His freshman year was all that mattered! It was the reason he was the number one pick in the draft a year later!
Love the score against uva
Vick highlights are like Tyson knockouts to me… could watch anytime!
Vick had an absolute cannon for an arm. He effortlessly throws the ball 50 plus yards.
Randy moss,Mike VICK Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, changed the NFL with there unique style of play and athleticism
Silo G bo Jackson
Silo G dont forget Cunningham.

Lamar Jackson 🤷🏾♂️
He was the best dual threat until 2019 and now has been passed by numerous qbs
This Man Mike Vick... Is The Wolverine Of The Quarter Back Position... Titanium Passes... With A Ferocious.... Vision To Run The 🏈 Ball....
He ALMOST beat FSU single-handedly for 3 quarters in the championship game but came up short in the 4th. Superman wore Michael Vick PJs. LOL

Vick to Andre Davis was a deadly combo. I wish Davis had more success in the NFL.
Michael Vick had the quickest 1st step of any quarterback. His time in Atlanta before the arrest were fun time to have season tickets
Vick was amazing man!!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal the best, the smoothest, he had a tank's main gun for an arm.
Michael Vick if hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard were a person

I was looking for ANYONE to call it out, you were the first I saw, ty! 😂😂 I thought I was hearing shit
