Welcome to Day 1 of the 30-Day Pilates Journey, “Finding your Center.” I am thrilled you’ve decided to join me! In today’s 30 minute workout, we’ll focus on firing up the core by activating the deep core muscles and the rest of the muscles that make up the Pilates powerhouse.
By finding strength and stability in our center, we’ll find more ease and efficiency, as well as power, in all our other movements. Your posture and alignment will also improve, as well as your balance, and you’ll be less prone to injuries.
Don’t overlook these seemingly easy and simple movements that lay the foundation for finding our deep center! Stick with me throughout the series and you’ll see how this principle of centering is necessary for the bigger and more challenging movements coming up.

I have come back to this 30 day series so many times now. I love all your videos, but the background with the trees, the warm colours etc just make me feel like I'm in a cosy studio on a rainy day. Thank you Caitlin for all these videos you give us for free. I'm following from the UK so not able to join in person unfortunately, but your videos have become a part of my daily routine and it feels weird if I do not practice with you every day! Thank you!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the time, energy, and love you have poured into this 30 day series. I'm on day 29 today. I'm so much stronger than I was on day 1. Thank you Cailin for being an excellent teacher. You have made pilates accessible and enjoyable for me and I just wanted to say thank you. 💚💚💚
2023,I have just started on this challenge. THANK YOU A ILLION TIMES FOR CREATING THIS AMAZING WORK.
Thank you for your kind comment and support! I hope you enjoy the series!
I went in thinking this would be easy and I was so wrong. But I wholeheartedly want to say my back pain was like 40% relieved after doing this just ONE time so I’ll be doing this and another challenge all month long. Can’t wait to feel my gen z age again.
It's wonderful to hear that this class resonated with you and helped ease your back pain! I'm glad you'll be coming back to it :)
Day 1 done! Such great explanations on how to properly engage the core during exercises instead of just going through the motions. Looking forward to continuing the series!
Thanks so much for being part of this 30 days, Lauren! I'm glad the explanations were helpful... we're building that foundation! Wishing you a very Happy 2021 😊
Those tiny moves are deceiving....my abs on day 2 were crying lol!!!! Great start to a series...♡
Soooo deceiving, right?! That means you are doing the exercises correctly 😊I'm so happy you're doing this series, Brenda!
As a begginer this was really Hard, I had to stop many times and was shaking 😂 but Im looking forward to find my center in the next weeks.
It is Feb 1 and I am ever so grateful this series is still available. I know it will be a challenge but I'm up for it. I will definitely be recoding my progress as self motivation (my confidence screams YIKES). I have tried other excise but due to my lower back pain, I gave up. This routine looks like it will allow me to stay low and transition more easily. Wish me luck!
What a great class. Thank you 🙏 I’m excited to complete the whole 30-day series. 🙂
My back felt so good after this! I was so surprised!
thank so much. I love the concentration and small movements
Definitely doing this tomorrow :D Thank you for continuing to post such amazing classes!
Yay, Kira! I'd love to know what you think! It's such a pleasure for me to offer these classes online :)
Excellent explanations. I have been doing Pilates for many years and it is good to remind myself of good technique. I look forward to completing this series. I’m surprised you don’t have more followers. They are missing out!
Awww, Debbie, I appreciate that! I agree that it's important to revisit the principles as well as form and technique, even if we've been doing Pilates for a while. Thanks for joining the series! Excited to have you here!
Yah! Caitlin, 30 days series! 👏👏👏 we talked about it couple months ago and you did it! Thank you!❤️
I will need to do two in a day to catch up 😉.
Yes! The 30 day series is here!! I hope you enjoy it Jessica!!!
Hi Cailin. Just stumbled across this today. What a fantastic series! Really looking forward to the next 30 days. Thanks for all your hard work. Cheers! David
Welcome aboard!
This is so good! Thank you Caitlin🥰
You're so welcome! I'm glad you're part of this series!
This was so good. Thank you!
This is great! Was training for a marathon but my hypermobility has sidelined me with ITBS and back pain. Just means I need to make my core and muscles that much stronger to hold good form. Hopeful this keeps me focused and stronger 🙏🏻
Thank you Cailin! Happy New Year to you and yours! I have been enjoying your videos for a couple of months now and look forward to doing this 30 Day Pilates Journey with you and your Pilates Community in real time:):)
Happy New Year to you as well, Karin! It's so wonderful to have you here and I'm so glad you've been enjoying the videos! Welcome to the 30 Day journey and I hope you enjoy it!
Great day 1, done! Thanks
I started today, thank you soo much for sharing!!! 🌺🌼🌸
First time in your class, very nice 👍🏻 I can feel it, thank you
Welcome! So happy to have you here! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you'll continue to join me for the rest of the series!
Doing this after finishing my 30 days with YWA! The explanations for proper engagement are amazing! I really understood how I should be moving and no pain! The shoulders were definitely aching and I had to drop to my knees for the shifting plank. I was actually thinking of skipping day 1, but it turned out to be way tougher than it looks. Goes to show that even if you're not a beginner, it is always useful to come back to basics and work on technique and engagement!. Looking forward to adding this series twice a week into my calendar!
ah, nice to see someone else has the same plan as me ! finished MOVE yesterday and am going to start this today !
@@abckatyxyz omg so excited to do this together with you! I am about to do day 2! I also like to do this stretching routine (ruclips.net/video/g_tea8ZNk5A/видео.html) after these pilates videos as away to get more flexible and stay in touch with the yoga flows
Welcome Anastasia! So happy to have you here :) I hope you continue to enjoy the series and can find that deeper connection to your core center. Please let me know if you have any questions as you continue on. I am also a huge fan of Adriene, so I'm honored that you are following my series after hers! I'm actually on Day 7 of Move (late to the party), but am loving her flows and instructions as always. It's great to have a guide and not have to think about what video to do that day since it's all laid out for us. Hope this pilates series provides that same ease for you! Thanks for being part of this community!
Welcome :) So happy to have you here, and I hope you enjoy this series! You already have a wonderful foundation after finishing Move - I'm actually on Day 7 of Move myself and love the flows as always... Adriene is amazing!
Let me know if you have any questions as you continue with this pilates series. The core center is important for so many reasons, but even more critical is that you enjoy the movements and have fun! Thanks for showing up here!
@@MVMTwithCailin Your reply and welcome really warms my heart! ❤ Thank you so much for making this 30 day series. I am a few days in and definitely feeling a connection to my core that I have not felt before. The 30 day format is also very easy to follow and helps me stay committed to daily movement.
All the best for your journey with Adriene this year. As she says - showing up is the hardest part, and you did it! Sending you all the love and positivity. I look forward to connecting with you through both practices and journeys 😁
Such a nicely explained workout
I made it to the 20 min mark until I got pretty nauseous! I'm a total beginner though and read you can hydrate more and maybe have a small snack prior to avoid this as well as doing a warm up. I will try to keep at it!
Loved it thanx❤
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Started today, feels so good 😀 I'm your new subscriber ❤
The perfect theme after the holidays. You work the target area and at the same time it's relaxing and you enjoy it. I'm curious about the results after finishing the challenge...Can't wait to see!
And Happy New Year!
We especially need this idea of centering after the holidays, you're right! I'm so happy you enjoyed this, and I think you'll be so happy with how you feel throughout and when the 30 days is complete. Wishing you a wonderful New Year too!
Thank you ☺️ 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Only could make it through half of the first class! I think this 30 day challenge is going to take about three months!
Slow and steady is the name of the game! As long as you stay consistent, just go through it at your own pace. As you make your way through the series, you’ll just continue to get stronger!
Day 1 done!
Hi Cailin, I am a mother of 1 and half year old and was lazy to start working out, but now I have started and completed the 1st day workout. Thank you! 😊 Is it normal that i cannot hold or do too many movements when legs are at the tabletop position?
Congrats on completing Day 1, Renuka! Hopefully you feel encouraged to keep it going :) I know life as a mom of little ones can be very busy, but it's great you took that time for yourself.
As for the legs in tabletop position, yes that's very normal as you're just getting started. That will get easier as your core gets stronger! At the beginning, it's common for the legs and maybe the lower back to feel heavy and achey while trying to keep the legs up. Make sure you are in the correct alignment with your spine and you're engaging your core properly... and keep using your breath to engage the core as well! Keep practicing and I bet you'll notice a difference :) Enjoy!
Hello, new subscriber here, just completed day one, will catch up, really enjoying it, Happy New Year!
Yay! Welcome and Happy New Year to you as well! So happy you are here! And I love your RUclips username 😊Makes me smile!
@@MVMTwithCailin Thank you so much! I'm all caught up to current date, really enjoying your Channel!
Great workout! I’m back after 2 years when in the best shape of our life! Question: at around 20 you had us face down, hips up, knees down…that was fine, then asked to raise opposite arm…holy molyTHAT was not happening! Hammys? What muscle is Soooo weak?! Hurt myself about 3 months ago and trying to rebuild! For the first time for just us!
Hi! First of all, so wonderful that you are rebuilding your strength and moving more after your injury! That is a great question.... that exercise is mostly core strength. It is basically a kneeling plank position, and when you add the lift of the arm it makes it much more challenging! I would build strengthen by just holding the kneeling plank (and making sure you are properly aligned from shoulders to knees)... then add the arm lift eventually, but start by only lifting the arm a few inches off the floor. Over time, you should be able to lift the arm higher. Hope that helps!
amazing
Thank you, glad you think so!
Thank you ..you are perfekt👍👍👍🙏🙏
Hey! Is this series suitable for beginners?
Yes, of course
Could you advise any modifications for people with wrist pain? I am hypermobile and my wrists are so weak, I can't press through my thumb and finger 😭
Hi Daisy, this is a great question since many people have wrist issues. You can modify by doing exercises on your forearms instead of your hands. You could also put dumbbells on the floor where your hands go, and wrap your hands around the dumbbells instead of putting them flat on the floor. A 3rd option is to use fists instead of flat hands on the floor (although this one is not my personal favorite). I hope that helps!
@@MVMTwithCailin that's so comprehensive and helpful, thank you! I'll try these tomorrow :)
💖💖💖
Thank you, Cailin, for this 30 day challenge! We did the whole 30 days as part of our HU virtual Strength and Flex workout community (see healthunlocked.com/strengthandflex/posts/146221812/pilates-mvmt’s-30-day-journey ) and it definitely toned my core. Suddenly the daily Yoga that I reverted to after finishing the 30 days, was so much easier.
Huge thanks! 🙏
Thank you!!
You're so welcome, Paula 😊
