You're right, this definitely wasn't my best dance. I was still developing in my style and confidence. This, in my opinion, is a much better video, if you search for this exact title: "Glory Box" Portishead and "Big Bang" Rock Mafia - Blues Dancing
uploaded by the same person as this, horsedakoda.

there's no sense for music here. The only thing that happens is that they stop when there's a pause. Other than that it's only random dance figures. No ups and downs, not emotional, just randomizing steps.

What a sexy lead! Great lines. I might have to trade in my Latin dancing roots and move to the Pacific Northwest.

The lead is doing a nice job but I'm not very impressed by the follow. In my opinion a more experienced follow would clean up the lines of the dips. The blues scene is pretty happening in the central Florida area l.

Very nice dancing, connection. More blues fusion or improv than straight blues, no matter, and dude you have to have danced salsa, nuh? cause I do a lot of those turns in salsa and sneak them in at Blues Dance. Whatever you want to call it and in no way is it West Coast, it is very nice and yes he is a bit more advanced dancer but she connects well. Song is very pretty. Thank you.

not really my thing... just seems a bit clinical to me... On the other hand, each to their own (i prefer dancing blues to actual blues music, or at any rate bluesy music). I just wanted to say, ignore the haters below, they clearly have not actually encountered a blues scene.... and are talking dismissively out of all to obvious ignorance.
Whether you enjoy blues or not its daft to dismiss the many people that enjoy it throughout the flourishing scene in the US and Europe.

Much like uhmm west coast? If you put them on a track it would be hard to argue that its not a version of west coast...
(I also understand that this song does not call for a pulse, among other blues concepts... which makes it harder to call this a blues dance).
"Ballroombreaker1" you obviously have not interacted with a true blues scene. :/

This is mislabeled "Blues". It looks like these guys are enjoying themselves and connecting to one another. It could just as easily be Lambada, or any other dance with dips and turns, no Blues present.

wtf? Blues dancing is not a fad. Don't be a dance snob. You obviously have little to no experience with blues if that is what you think of it. Blues dancing is very popular among swing dancers, and you couldn't convince a soul that swing is just a fad, or that people who swing dance have no real interest in "learning how to actually dance." I know competitive swing dancers / dance instructors who are very into blues dancing. And blues music is hardly a fad, so of course we want to dance to it.

Blues dancing actually does have a structure and an entire rich history as a dance. This dancing is certainly lovely and a lot of fun, but it's missing all the major characteristics of what makes blues dancing blues dancing. It's also pretty essential that blues dancing is done to blues music. It's kind of a big part of the dance.
