2009 I was 14 years old. I remember when my parents went on vacation. I stole my father’s Chevrolet and this was the first song I heard on the radio. What a wonderful feeling.
i was born in 2009 and am 14 now!! i loved this song so much when i was little, i didn’t know the name of it so i always just called it “the firefly song,” not knowing it was actually called fireflies, lol. my family still calls it “the firefly song” to this day. also, at the end of the year in band we always play fun songs like this and at the end of the year last year we played this one, which makes it even more special for me. everyone’s begging to play it again this year

The toys while Owl City was singing Fireflies really hit hard not gonna lie. Really depicts the nature of how childhood was the most fun time in your life and then you have to move on.
I'm about to turn 47. I just had my first child, a son, 3 weeks ago. This song and video crossed my mind just now. In a way I had a magical childhood that somehow this video seems to always bring back. It's my hope I can do my best to help provide him with the same.
