That's actually the day we got back from this cruise. Princesses actually ended up being a lot better than I had anticipated.

Enjoyed your video. We will be on Discovery Princess end of April going to Alaska. This will be my 1st ever cruise. Since I grew up in British Columbia my girlfriend knew I would love this scenic cruise up the coast. She has cruised there before. Excited for this trip.

This was fun to watch. We ate booked on this ship for April 8th, and in same cabin 416. We started laughing when we saw that. Thanks for review. This will be our second cruise on Princess, our other one was to Antarctic, AMAZING.

@Good Morning Adventures 100 percent amazing. we were on the Coral princess, 19 days it was cold but so breathtaking we were out walking on the deck quite a lot, taking it all in, taking hundreds of photos. We got back Feb 2020, just as Covid was starting to happen.
I’m a Disney cruiser but recently discovered the discovery princess and we really love it ❤ the medallion is the best and let’s face it … can’t beat the price
The medallion is the best part of Princess! I wish Disney would bring on something similar given that they already do Magic bands in the parks.
Great Day 1! Now I don't feel like I missed anything :) Personally, I think the room is important, more than 30 (or 50) seconds please!
When looking at analytics, we found that room tours was a place that many people lost interests in previous videos. So we're trying to find a new way to keep it interesting, while still keeping it.

Love the fun countdown for the tour but when a room is that amazing it’s bound to go over. Was the medallion an extra cost or can you do without it and have a key card? Pretty cool seeing both of you guys back cruising.
The medallion is included for all guests aboard, it does cost shipping if you want it ahead of time. Otherwise you can pick it up at port when you arrive. It's a medallion only ship. And thanks, it was nice to be on the same ship at the same time again. It has been a while.

So travel agents receive elite benefits for completing certain things for them. I also hadn’t been on Princess for a while, so this was almost as if it was new to me.

Yeah you get to keep them! I feel wasteful not being able to reuse them on multiple cruises, but you’re right, it’s a nice souvenir

Planning a cruise with Discovery Princess, Alaska in June 2023. My question is about the medallion. Do we purchase it ahead of cruise or get it when boarding ship. And how do you go about getting it. Thank you for your response. Alice
The medallion itself is included in your fare, so you don't have to pay anything extra for it. You can pay extra to ship it to your house ahead of the cruise, or just pick it up at the terminal for free at check-in. The medallion accessories is what cost extra, such as the watch or necklace. If not, there is a free lanyard that they give you for the medallion.
I don't like wearing the medallion, it's like wearing your cruise card on a lanyard around your neck not a good look . I prefer to keep it in my wristlet and take the 30 seconds to take it out, scan and put it away.

Hey Steven. Not sure you remember, but back in March I took that ship and told you about it. The last princess cruise I will ever take. The tech didn't work. The food was subpar and they only gave one piece of bread at a time. Lol
I do remember you mentioning that you're going on Discovery Princess. I didn't realize that things were that bad when you went. Also, didn't you go during it's inaugural run?
@@GoodMorningAdventures yes, it was actually the second or third run. It was early and we took a chance. Feels like we bet and lost it all. I am glad that you enjoyed it though. The bread comment was true by the way. It was weird, but you know how usually there is a bread basket with dinner? There wasn't one. In fact, they just came around with bread and gave each person one. I asked for a basket, but they just smiled, told me they would be back and just brought one bread per person again. Not that I eat a bunch of bread, but still. It was a weird first.

Lastly, we made dinner reservations. When we got to the restaurant they told us that everyone's reservation disappeared. They were sorry and the manager actually said, and I quote " yes sir, nothing works".
Sorry that you had such a bad experience. Technology is great when it works, and terrible when it doesn't... We ended up talking to one of the head servers and he was able to get us on the same time and table for dinner. The app was really unreliable for making our dinner reservations actually.
By the way, we kept ordering drinks on the app and they were never delivered. It was a very frustrating cruise.
I did notice that after our first test, drinks did get slower to show up, but we never had any major issues where a drink never showed up. But I can easily imagine the tech not working.
