Hey All, hope this video gives you a good idea of what to expect in the MDR's onboard the Discovery Princess. We will have a seperate Buffet video to come out , so dont worry if you're wondering what the buffet is like. This was just focusing on the MDR. Hope you enjoy and find it useful
What an excellent video giving a detailed overview of dining options with Princess Cruises. Keep up this standard and you will double your subscriptions in no time. Well Done and keep them coming!
as always, brilliant vlog guys. we always go the "anytime Dining" route on princess. So, we just turn up, there is usually at least one main dining room for anytime dining. if its a long wait, they give us a buzzer to take, or we just stay in line for a short while. we have never waited long to be honest. Once we have been a few times, the maitre D usually asks if we would like the same table at the same ish time, and it's always then ready for us. w e love princess
Hi Terry hope you're ok. And that seems a good idea too about the dining. We ended up prebooking all the restaurants before we went but would look at this for next time and be abit more flexible. Its great you can do both options though. We'll definitely be sailing with princess again for sure 😁
Wild Alaskan Sockeye salmon is a completely different entity to farmed salmon eg Scottish. Once you've eaten Sockeye you'll never go back to the farmed stuff. It tastes very different, and so much better. We have it once a week at home with roasted veg. It is however, very expensive - its around a tenner for 2 pieces from M7S but a bit cheaper at Tesco. Sockeye salmon is also very good for you apparently. The seafood looks amazing on your cruise! .
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. My first cruise is in mid September on Discovery Princess (solo) to celebrate my 70th birthday. Alaska. The meals look outstanding. I'll look at your other videos. Greetings from SW Washington state🙋♂️🏍💨.
Good morning Stacey and Kev. I knew before I even started watching this that I needed to get something to eat. 😂 I love the different breads and pastry. The portion sizes look like they are more than enough. I agree, I don't like to waste food. If it's not enough I can always get more. Lunch looked good as well. Yes Kev, all pasta needs MORE cheese. 😊. Kev, Princess is giving MSC a run for the money regarding the pasta taste, Wow. The burger that big doesn't need extra fries (chips), I like my meat medium. Dinner appetizers really looked good. Any shrimp dish, I'm in. Lol I'm a foodie so I love watching you both give your review's on the food. Thank you. Another perfect video ❤
We are going on the Discovery Princess in two weeks. Thanks for your video. I want both those desserts you guys had at dinner. I also like your flannels man, I am from Colorado and will definitely pack a few. Thanks
Stacey and Kev, I'm loving your blogs. So lovely to hear Stokie isms such as bap and mopping up the sauce. Its makes me smile so much. (I'm a Stokie bird, now living in Spain but I've mastered the oatcake and regularly make them for our friends). Xx
Hi Paula thanks so much And glad we can remind you of home a little lol 😁 and haha we forget when we say things like bap if people will know what we mean. And ooooo could just eat a cheese oatcake right now 🤣
Hello to you both Love your food vlogs always like to know the food portion size. Think it’s better to eat to much then eat to little. Your vlogs on the princess are going to be a very great help to us. We have booked a cruise going from Southampton to Greenland and Iceland July 2024 on the Caribbean princess for 16 nights. Looking forward to the rest of your vlogs Many thanks
Hi how are you? And wow 16 nights to Greenland and Iceland that sounds amazing. Think you will really like princess. Wait till you see their app( we will have a video coming out on it eventually) it's brilliant and makes life on the ship so easy.
Absolutely brilliant guys. So informative as always. I keep saying this but do you actually have a break when you're away as you do so much. We appreciate it thank you .Keep up the amazing work. Cant wait to see where you end up in the future
Thanks so much for the lovely comment and yes it's hard work lol but we're very passionate about doing this and vlogging videos that will hopefully help others in their travels. Thanks for supporting us 😁
Hi, we tended to eat about 6 - 6:30 pm as we personally prefer not to eat any later and we also found it easier to schedule the entertainment once dining was out the way. There were a few showings of the productions in the main theatre though so if you did eat later you wouldn't miss one. You would just have to watch the earlier show before dinner 👍
Love having you "stuff your faces for us," Kev and Stacey! Great advice for reserving early before your cruise. All the food looked wonderful! Any trips to the buffet in between or maybe some pizza? 🤣🤣Quick edit? It was a great informative video! Loved it and looking forward to more from your cruise.
Wonderful video, I’m on Crown Princess ten day Alaska in early July. Food looks great. Thank you so much for your wonderful spirit and reviews. Hopefully you see whales and some bears!
Thanks George not long till you go on the Crown Princess now 😁 we were really impressed with the food on Princess. And haha we have lots more videos to come so maybe there will be a Whale and bear 🤔😜
Hi , because you both explain everything in details regarding the cruise you are on , I was wondering in near future, planning to cruise to New England and Canada .? Love to go to America but I love to cruise to different cities.
Hi you two, very nice video! I live in Los Angeles and been wanting to sail on Discovery, especially since there are sailings out of LA. Last time on Princess was pre pandemic in 2019 on the Royal Princess and thought the buffet was one of the best we’ve experienced out of Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Only went once to the Main Dining Room and it was just ok, but I’m willing to give it another chance. The desserts were dangerously deelish! There was one that I completely lost my mind over, and that was their Sour Cream Choc Cake. Did you see anything like that on your sailing? Lastly I love your accents. Forgive me for sounding like a naive North American, but your accents don’t sound typical U.K. They almost sound like there is a hint of Irish. Anyhow, love your energy and hope to make my way to Europe one day.
Thanks so much for watching and no didn't come across Sour Cream choc cake. Haven't heard of that before, sounds interesting 😋. And we are from a place called Staffordshire and lets just say the accent from here is quite different 😁
Hi Kev and Stacy, Was the food in MDR and buffet hot on your Princess cruise - got food poisoning on MSC virtuosa in March. Lukewarm food - days 4-7 were a wipe out for dad and I
We are on Sky Princess in September to Boston and Canada. We have sailed on Princess before and the food was amazing then. So if I start to diet this week and lose a few stones 😅 I should be able to take full advantage of the gorgeous food. Have sailed several times on MSC and the food quite frankly is very disappointing - especially their buffet.
Also to be mentioned that the menu is exactly the same in all dining rooms... great video guys, I just love watching you. We will be on the Discovery next week. Can't wait to try some of the things you did
@OneCouplesAdventure lol though I love a hubby who loves to talk, which he is never short of conversation and I love that, I find myself constantly rewinding because I've missed what's been said lol thanks for the little chat.

Great job….direct and friendly and informative. I’m on the Discovery for the first time in February 2024…..afterwards I’ll be Elite!🎉
Thanks so much, and we hope you have an amazing time when you go on

Thanks so much, really appreciate that. And we'll keep trying our best 👍
Thank you. I know you didn’t want to eat all that food, but you did it for us.

Any advice on timings for the entertainment? Trying to work out what time to book meals for. Going in 45 days and so excited!

We have always found the food on Princess a step up from P&O. In both the regular dinning room and the buffet.
Hi Wendy and yes we were really impressed with the food on Princess
Hi Kev and Stacy,
Was the food in MDR and buffet hot on your Princess cruise - got food poisoning on MSC virtuosa in March. Lukewarm food - days 4-7 were a wipe out for dad and I
Hi yes it seemed fine, was always hot

My fav dessert
Oh this is the old main dining room lunch menu which we preferred over the new streamlined mdr lunch menu in 2024.
I new you guys would end up doing cruises
Very imformative
Does the app tell you what the culture type of food on the buffet for dinner is each night?
Hi no it doesn't
Maybe someone has asked this question before. We are cruising in August '24. Are the MDR included in our price? We have a mini suite. Thanks!!
Hi yes the MDR'S are included, there are other specialty restaurants that have an extra charge but everything in this video is included
How did you get a table for two?
I love loads of parmizan
Watching November 2023

Hi Jennifer yes we're great thanks are you?

Do you know what artificial sweeteners they have on the ship (Pink or blue packaging)
Not sure, im sure they will have a selection, don't know what the difference is between them?
Hey xxx
I love scoffing my face😂
You can be friends with us anyday then lol 😁
@@OneCouplesAdventure gd
Everything on Princess just knocks spots off P&O
Hated the ads before the video.
We have no control of what ads get shown before a video. They will be different for everybody!
Also to be mentioned that the menu is exactly the same in all dining rooms... great video guys, I just love watching you. We will be on the Discovery next week. Can't wait to try some of the things you did
Hi yes we did mention at 16:07 that the menu is the same for all 3 dining rooms 😁 have an amazing time on the princess and thanks for watching
@@OneCouplesAdventure how did I miss that love?!?!? Hubby must have been flapping
Hahaha love it blame the husband (I would of too 😆) and no problem it's a good thing to have pointed out just in case 👍
@OneCouplesAdventure lol though I love a hubby who loves to talk, which he is never short of conversation and I love that, I find myself constantly rewinding because I've missed what's been said lol thanks for the little chat.
Gi Gi's not complimentarily anymore!!!
Yes we know it's all changed recently. It's a shame really
