    The "Sanctuary" looks like a lovely viewing/lounge area, Key and Stacey. Seems a little strange to be wearing coats and ear muffs! Lovely plant pots. They will be great once you get back home. Loved spending the day and keep the pots out of the microwave! Thanks for bringing us along.

    Excellent!
    We've done the Sanctuary a few times (in somewhat warmer climes) and absolutely loved it. Great service and a real haven of peace. Hey, maybe that's why it's called The Sanctuary!!! 😉

    Thank you so much for this video! I have early boarding, I’m going to first thing book the Sanctuary for our day in Glacier Bay.
    The treats alone are worth it.
    Looks like you chowed down and had fun.
    Happy Birthday Stacey.

    Great video as always guys. We always book the sanctuary on sea days love it in there. Have to say I’ve really enjoyed seeing how Alaska has changed. I first went there 33 years ago when I worked on a ship called the Stardancer. I did Alaska twice. Could not believe how much Ketchikan had grown, it was nothing like that back then not a diamond store in site back then. Looks very commercial from what I’ve seen these days. The scenery still looks spectacular and really that’s what you go for.

    It makes sense to go to the sanctuary, especially when you have an inside cabin. Nice to have the lounge chairs too. I can’t believe not many people were there. I think I would have tried ordering food up there too. Great vlog, had no idea that’s an option to do. I’ve never seen on anyone else’s vlog. You do have better vlogs though.

    After seeing your video about the Sanctuary, I'm more interested in doing it on my first time cruise to Alaska in September. Before this video, I was not interested in any way.
    Does Discovery show the outdoor movies at night on the Alaska cruise?

    • @OneCouplesAdventure
      @OneCouplesAdventure  Год назад

      Hi Steve, yes it did show the outdoor movies at night weather permitted. They did supply blankets as well

  • @kingkongkingkong1483
    @kingkongkingkong1483 Год назад

    That's roughly the same as the retreat on the Britannia
    we booked the P&O Britannia retreat when you were on board for 5 days, winter rates £20 per day per person money well spent no kids.
    The same as you bloody cold so sat in the warm hot tubs most of the time and sat under blanks when we got out.
    Nearly every day we had a hot tube each, most people in the retreat at any one time 6 couples

    Those blankets even match one of Kev's shirts🤣 for $60 p/p it was justified, next time don't wish for anything, and probably it will happen, just a thought 😊 🤣🤣

    @maryanncapece2623 Год назад +1

    Hello you two... Wow, I've not seen any video of people using this areea. $60pp is more than worth it. Like you, I would have been up there as soon as possible and stay until they threw me out, 😂. Great video, sorry about not seeing the northern lights. Do you know if this area is available if you have a suite without a charge? Thank you both, enjoy the rest of your weekend 😊

    • @OneCouplesAdventure

      Hi MaryAnn thanks for watching as always and no we didnt see anything anywhere that implied you got to go there at no extra cost if staying in a suite. Not 100% sure though

    I was on the Discovery for the May 14 sailing! We had a great time! We did see bears but in the Yukon in Skagway. Did they change the itinerary? We went to Dawes Glacier and did not go to Sitka. Love watching your videos!

    This cruise looks amazing, but would it be suitable for a wheelchair user.

    • @OneCouplesAdventure
      @OneCouplesAdventure  Год назад

      Hi yes i think most ships are wheelchair friendly ( we would be very disappointed in them if they weren't) there was plenty of wheelchair users on the princess and we must say the staff seemed to do an excellent job in helping out if it was needed. Sometimes the ramps off the ship can be quite steep and workers would assist with that

    Have enjoyed watching this Alaska cruise series.
    Going on an Alska cruise in September albeit on the Sapphire Princess. Was just wondering did you feel the tint on the windows affected the experience much? As its my main concern particularly changing how photos could come out!

    • @OneCouplesAdventure
      @OneCouplesAdventure  Год назад

      Ah yes see what you mean. There was a slight blue tint on the window, you can go just out of the Sanctuary and there is clear glass with no tint if you want to take a few pictures where its clear. But didnt ruin the experience for us overall 😁

    I've loved all your vlog posts for this trip! We're heading to Alaska on the Discovery Princess this August. Question about the Sanctuary... are the seat backs of the lounge chairs adjustable? Can you make them sit up straighter?
