Got fucking chills man . Dio is just a legend . One of a kind voice . If this was one take into the movie then this is just insane lol. RIP Dio . One of the best vocalist on this planet
When Dio said he wanted to do more made me smile and sad at the same time. I could feel how much joy he had singing and at the same time it's like he's wanting to leave as much of his singing behind (as a legacy). Sad that we won't see another one. :( Salute to a metal legend \m/
It was the movie director. He just collapsed for the emotion, JB was paralysed. In the movie this performance gives me chills, I really can’t imagine to watch it in the same room. Incredible!
Dio, a freaking legend, tells JB: "It's good, I'm glad you're happy with it", such a humbling comment, he was a freaking legend and was there, recording a silly song and feeling glad because JB liked it. Fucking epic, man.
kcikapoo is anything but silly; sure, the lyrics are ridiculous, but the theme it touches, the repression of youth, the longing for something greater, the encouragement from an idol, the warning about what it will actually take to reach the promised land; that's fucking metal, man.
What a beautiful soul Dio was. Giving of his time,Wanted to do more if needed, asked if what he was doing was OK and even complimented the work being done. Such a legend. Sorely missed
My favourite Dio story about how lovely a man he is when he joined Sabbath for the second time Tommy Iommi was elected to take him aside and sit him down to say that the band have decided that any lyrics he wrote can't be about rainbows and he got quite upset.
I always get emotional seeing this, Dio was so full of life, energy, sad he leave us shortly after. The man is a legend, Jack must be so proud he could work with him and also getting compliments from his hero
Yo Dio was such a presence. Look at how someone as animated as Jack Black (and we're talking young Jack Black to boot) gets so tongue tied and humbled by Dio. Unreal
I can only imagine what was going through JB's mind when he heard the might DIO sing his lyrics, putting all the epic Dio passion and power into it. I felt exactly the same about Dio when I was a kid and heard him for the first time and he inspired me to go and find myself. I became a music journalist among other things and had the honor of interviewing RJD two times, just couldn't believe it was him on the phone with me, he was so courteous and professional and real. One of my favorite parts of the movie.
Dio is underrated. Not because he doesn't get enough recognition, because he does, but because no ammount of praise would do justice to how great he could sing.
I couldn't agree more. His voice was way too impressive, recorded music never managed to do him justice. This short video is such a powerful example of what he did when recording his songs, I just fucking love it.
I am only 30, but for me it's shocking how little in terms of vocals you have to offer to become a star today. I love Dio soooo much, and this video only shows that this great man deserves every single bit of my love to him. R.I.P King of Metal 🤘
Think about it that was his voice natural without any filters or effects or autotunes or even doubling. And the funny thing is that it must have sounded even better there in the same room live. There have not been many singers that really could pull off anything even close to him.
I absolutly love this video. In one second Dio sounds nice and normal. In another second he starts to sing and there is so much power and aggression in his voice. Always gives me goosebumps.
I had the pleasure of meeting and serving Jack Black 4 or 5 years ago. I can honestly say he is one of the most genuinely awesome people you could ever meet. 10/10 would meet again.
RJD came so far from his beginnings in 50s teen doo-wop singing. Damn am I glad he fell in love with metal and helped mold what it became. We needed more experienced, mature musicians like him back then to guide it into the awesome genre it still is today.
I love both but to me Sabbath is all Ozzy, while Dio I prefer in Rainbow and his solo work. Ozzy's solo stuff is good but no where near what he accomplished in Sabbath and he also didn't write his lyrics and battled substance abuse for decades. Dio was clean and sober so he had more control over what he was doing and obviously wrote his own lyrics. Both are Metal gods. Both were/are wonderful people who genuinely loved what they did/do and adored their fans. The contributions they made to music, society, and Metal culture is immeasurable.

Dio was is and always will be a legend he did this while having cancer
1:00 Just look at him here. You can see and feel how much passion and emotion he's channeling into every word.
He literally knocks a guy out on the first take. An actual God.

Such a sweet guy along with being the absolute pinnacle of metal singers. Never another like him.
Dio has probably heard the phrase “I just can’t believe this is happening” more than anyone else in history. Even other rock stars say it to him.
Dio told Jack Black that Tenacious D was some great stuff. That's it, no one ever needs to compliment him again.
1:19 the man falls because the greatness of Dio's voice 🤣
Literally the only appropriate response to the situation.
He fell because he nailed it on the first or second take.
Well, that shit happens to Dio all the time.
@@MikeJones-oe3do first
It was the movie director. He just collapsed for the emotion, JB was paralysed. In the movie this performance gives me chills, I really can’t imagine to watch it in the same room. Incredible!
Just love how the world famous comedian and actor is such a star struck fan boy around the great man
Yeah, Dio was to Music what Marlon Brando was to acting, just freaking incredible.
I thought the same thing.
Star struck?
I see.
@@ARockyRock One has to be a Dio fan to get that joke. Good one lol!
YOU CANT SEE CALIFORNIA WITHOUT MARLON BRANDO’S EYES!
I love how you can immediatly tell its the versions from the actual movie. Pure talent (dedication and training).
Dio seemed like the coolest guy ever. RIP
1:10 that transition is amazing
Dio, a freaking legend, tells JB: "It's good, I'm glad you're happy with it", such a humbling comment, he was a freaking legend and was there, recording a silly song and feeling glad because JB liked it.
Fucking epic, man.
kcikapoo is anything but silly; sure, the lyrics are ridiculous, but the theme it touches, the repression of youth, the longing for something greater, the encouragement from an idol, the warning about what it will actually take to reach the promised land; that's fucking metal, man.
@@SethonanGaming 👏
Fuck yeah it is man
also Dio with soft voice "that was too much?"
- no it was good
xD
@@SethonanGaming I saw this as a young teen and when I got older couldn't believe there's actually a place in America called kickapoo
What a beautiful soul Dio was. Giving of his time,Wanted to do more if needed, asked if what he was doing was OK and even complimented the work being done.
Such a legend. Sorely missed
Humble, he truly was a kind, humble man who never put himself before others. In short, a true role model.
Seeing the people as excited as I would be working with Dio, (and have him throw a BANGER track on top of that!) puts a warm feeling in my heart.....
I am so damn jealous of everyone in that room.
We all are!
same here man!
1:34 Jack Black says "oh god" but he has god literally in front of him
You can call me Ronnie.
Naah
Exactly and the dude was an incredible person on top of it all. Everywhere you read testimonies of people saying how good of a person he was.
Brings tears to my eyes.
Glad I had the privilege of meeting him and seeing him live. Best performance I ever saw.
That was a honor to be there in the same room with RJD. He took it so professionally, have his heart into that singing
"Poof! And you woke up." Definitely a dream cone true for a Dio fan like Jack Black. 🤘
"Yeah, I just can't believe this is really happening." 1:38
RIP to the legendary vocalist Dio. This guy is so metal, he could metalize any song
that little vocal run in "fortune" at 1:04 gives me the chills, no joke
Every single time
I absolutly love this video. In one second Dio sounds nice and normal. In another second he starts to sing and there is so much power and aggression in his voice. Always gives me goosebumps.
Just the fact Jack is so grateful and Dio acting almost like a dad to Jack makes this even better
Dio's voice during that intro of Tenacious D set the bar pretty high. Lmao!
I had the pleasure of meeting and serving Jack Black 4 or 5 years ago. I can honestly say he is one of the most genuinely awesome people you could ever meet. 10/10 would meet again.
Serving him food or serving him in servitude?
@@stanknugget hehe
@@stanknugget As in I was his logistics and press officer for the event he was at. I'm not a waiter.
RJD came so far from his beginnings in 50s teen doo-wop singing. Damn am I glad he fell in love with metal and helped mold what it became. We needed more experienced, mature musicians like him back then to guide it into the awesome genre it still is today.
Just think he's joined up somewheres with the greatests like EVH, David Bowie, and many others.
GOD OF METAL DIO.... I cantt get enough of his voice..
Dio’s voice just phenomenal ! So sad he died 3 days after I turned 12!
00:51 so fucking epic man... RIP Dio.🤘🏽
This is pure gold for Dio fans and those who loved that movie
Look, I love Ozzy but Dio's raw talent combined with a insane work ethic is undeniably superior.
DIO was at another level. He knew exactly how to use his voice like you'd drive a car. Ozzy is more of a hit or miss.
@@xCreepyKidsx
The first Sabbath I ever heard at age 11 was Heaven and Hell, so I love that album. Dio's best work ever.
@@xCreepyKidsx
Swell; Heaven and hell is such a perfect record!
@@patmctallica3522 Agreed. That album is one of Dio's best and a best for Sabbath as well. Mob Rules and Dehumanizer have their moments but Heaven and Hell was right off the heals of Ozzy getting kicked out and Dio leaving Rainbow, so they definitely put their all into that record.
I'm so greatful for that video being part of RUclips
He was just amazing. We miss you Ronnie
You can tell by how he was trembling as he was singing that he gave it everything he had. It's like he's giving himself goosebumps bringing out such powerful emotion.
My knees would buckle if I was ever in Dio's presence while he sang like that, SUCH A VOICE.
This was my favorite part in the movie! The song although has some comical nuance to it is still easily in top 20 of my favorite song ever! Thank god they decided to record the recording process! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Blown away. I wish I could have met Ronnie Dio. Amazing voice!
Dude his voice still gives me chills man. I grew up on Dio. Legendary.
